Halimorning!

No slugs but total count was 6 Halibut and one small failed landing of a Corvina.

Bait blowing up everywhere had me excited for some topwater Chrome but it was all Halibut doing the chasing.

Perfect crack of dawn out going tide slid to a stop and so did the bite.

Surfs been fun the past few days until this morning.

We had early on shores so I grab the rods instead of the boards. Off the water by 8am.

Skinny Water Corvina!

Dylan got out over the weekend and found some Halibut and a Corvina.

We are just getting started.

BFT caught in day and a half range as well. 🙂

Da Boys Are Back In Town!

First nice Chrome-vina of 2024!

The water temps are creeping up. I gave the lunch time minus tide a go looking for Chrome.

I had three good grabs and landed a nice unit. It’s a great sign moving forward. Also landed a small consolation butt 🙂

Fly Tie!

Standard deviation from the standard. Basically what we have here lllis a Deceiver wearing a fur coat.

I tied a standard Deceiver and to give it some bulk I finished the tie with a layer of craft fur.

Day before the storm!

Interesting note, yesterday water temps hit 61.7 at Scripps pier. That’s the warmest reading I’ve seen since we went into winter.

I’m not saying we have turned the corner but fingers crossed.

Saturday Session.

I popped into one of the haunts late morning to catch the outgoing low. One lap for me resulted in a grab at least but nothing brought to the sand.

Dillion was out on the same tide and managed some Halibut action.🙂

Water temps are high 50’s and a little cold on the toes.

Chunky Monkey!

Actually caught this Spotted bay bass some time last week along with some pancake Halibut. I had trouble with Tumbler but fixed it today.

Conditions have been chilly.

Water temps have finally dipped below 60 degrees.

I fished for about an hour on an outgoing low. I still had some good tide to work with but left because it was getting too cold to fish.
