My delusional self keeps thinking that they'll change the book cover because fans (and nicola) hate it so much. And you pinpointed exactly what my problem was with it (aside from the photoshop): too much focus on Penelope.

I think that with enough persuasion from the fans, they might add a new version of that cover with the new poster (but probably won't remove the initial one so people who prefer that one could still buy it).

I don't mind the photoshop that they did where everyone's been enhanced and highlighted - I think it's just for effect of a fairytale or something like that. As long as the actors remain recognisable, I'm fine with it.

But obviously not with photoshopping Nicola's body. That's just so goddamn low for so many reasons... number one because that's an actual human being you're changing, not some drawn character. And number two because they're trying to sell the message that this season is for the wallflowers and also for plus size girlies like me... and then they... photoshop the main character that represents us wallflowers and people who struggle with the idea of finding true love because of the way they look... hypocritical much? People already complain that this season won't be as good because the main actors don't look sexy enough so the sex scenes won't be good either... (just say you're a 🌽 addict at this point and stop shaming the gorgeous Luke and stunning Nicola) so photoshopping them (Nicola specifically) just proves how they (Bridgerton and Netflix teams) partly agree with those statements which is just sick.

And yes, the promo so far that we've gotten screams like this is Penelope’s story with Colin being a love interest instead of it being A Colin and Penelope story. And that cover just highlighted it further since Colin is more in the background. The couples for S1 and 2 were all standing pretty much next to each other, and this second poster fits that pattern much better. They should be equals in the terms of their characters being portrayed on screen.

But I'm glad that apparently in the show it's not like that, that Colin has his own thing aside from Pen and I hope for more just Colin promo (like the poster with Penelope looking in the hand mirror), perhaps of him writing in his journals?

I didn’t know Luke had found someone else good for him! Kudos to him for keeping it private, I know he was pretty open about his last partner and that led to some drama. I hope both Luke and Nicola’s partners are going to be okay during this wild promo tour as it must be weird seeing people ship your respective partners together.

His current relationship apparently has no less drama than the last one (although I wasn't in the fandom then yet, so I'm not sure of the actual heaviness of the situation) with the problem this time being that Luke's dating a girl that's in her early twenties and how apparently he acts differently when he's with her. I just read other people's posts and opinions about that, so this is not my actual opinion since I'm relatively new to the Bridgerton world and the actors.

However, it must be said that none of us truly know what's going on behind closed doors and what the situation actually is like. He chose her, and their relationship is frankly none of our business. If he acts worse to fans or whatever else when he's with her, that's his problem to solve since it's his relationship. I don't know the nitty-gritty of his love life like some do, and I honestly don't want to. He's a great actor, per Nicola clearly a good co-star and that's all I need to know of him.

And yeah, I definitely agree how their partners really must have a lot of faith and trust. I definitely see Nic and Luke having a BFF relationship (that's why they appear closer than some other pairs of actors that are just friends) and they say it very clearly how they're just friends, yet people cease to believe them. I just hope that that great friendship won't be ruined by fans... it would be a shame since we as a society always bang on about wanting more genuine M/F friendships represented in the media yet the moment we see two people laugh and look at each other we're immediately like: Oh Gosh they're dating 100%!!!@@@£**#*#,💖🥹🩷🫶🫶🫶

Like, no. They're comfortable around each other and that's important for both the acting and the atmosphere when they're doing promo stuff. Plus, genuine friendship and care for people never hurts anyone, as we see that Luke is often relying on Nic for support when he's struggling during promo (he has dyslexia and ADHD I think). Let's normalise that it's not just your partners that can make you feel safe but friends as well.

A thought that keeps popping up now that promo is ramping up.. I really hope that people stay respectful to Luke and Nicola’s relationship, they have said multiple time that they are friends, and that should be that. Please be respectful to their respective partners should they chose to be open about a relationship, and don’t try and find out more should they wish to keep it quiet. Nicola and Luke are people who are being paid to promote the show and a narrative.
