First I want to say, your work is incredible, the worldbuilding, the beautiful art.. Im obsessed. You are amazing.

To the questions, do you plan on writing a book?? I would buy, I mean, immediately. This is incredible stuff. There is so much to this stuff that could be explored.

Next one, which is not a question. But anyway. Im from this little country of Slovakia, and I had the idea to combine the most spread birdie and most famous breed form my country. So if you ever feel like it, the most regular or beloved birdies here are great tits (hehe), sparrows, black thrush(es??), storks, kingfisher (we have the common type but you seen crested kingfisher yet? omg what a little guy woahh, that would make a neat pegasus), golden eagle, goshawks, tawny owls..

And our breeds are slovak warmblood, slovak sport pony (sšp), and then we have beloved hucul ponies and the working absolute units that are Norikers from Muráň (norik muránsky)

But again, if you are reading this thats already like too good to process, thank you for the service i absolutely adore your pegasi art and lore, good luck with everything you do!

Thank you :) Yes to the book! Currently working on a graphic novel - I've got it all written and am working on the pages now. Here's a peek of the cover for chapter 1:

I also plan to do pegasus art books soon. Those will be smaller, such as a mini art book for broadwings, one for shortwings, one for longwings, etc.

And OH MY GOSH I had no idea what Hucul ponies were before now but I love them. I had to draw one.

Comparison gifpost.

Fourth row is Mint, trained by Shawna Karrasch with positive reinforcement. Note the presence of real positive body language. Pricked ears, head toss, relaxed tail.

Obviously I have an agenda re: encouraging the use of positive reinforcement, and discouraging the use of negative reinforcement and punishment, but mostly this gifset is intended to make it obvious that what we think of as ‘relaxed’ or ‘submissive’ body language can actually be a sign of a shut down animal that has learned not to react, or react only when made to. A horse is not relaxed just because they aren’t reacting. A horse is not happy just because they aren’t actively fighting. Horses can be taught to shut down just as easily as dogs, and typically, they are. The next time you watch a training video, watch for the quiet signs of stress (tight mouth, whale eye, clamped or thrashing tail, pinned ears, lip licking). You’ll be surprised how many ‘calm’ or ‘relaxed’ horses are exactly the opposite.

You still cant properly hold the reins most of the times, the E icon is sometimes just floating in the middle of your horse even when riding, leading your horse feels like getting that one stubborn school horse that hates its life and refuse to move 80% of the time. All can be sometimes fixed by the magical powers of ,dismount and try again,

 my game freezes completely and I have to shut down the entire computer most of the times if i press the windows key (man i just wanted to choose a different youtube video and not see black screen that makes me contemplate my life) (this have been going on for months-)

thank godess we are getting the ai horseshit smelling candles if the money we spent for this expertly crafted and perfectly upkeeped game doesnt feel like enough!

As someone who works w animals “animals are not mindless automatons, they actually do have feelings and individuality and are capable of feeling acute physical and emotional pain and of forming deep attachments with other animals and people” and “animals are not human infants and have a limited capacity to communicate with humans so you have to familiarize yourself with their boundaries bc if they feel threatened or overstimulated they will fall back on their basic instincts and if you fuck around you are going to find out” are statements that can and should coexist

the first smells like horses and privilege (lighting it makes you feel inferior, in some way)

the second like horses and like 50 brands of aggresive floral deodorants in room with bad air circulation (when you light this candle, you suddenly hear echoes of mean remarks about you that were said just a bit too loud, so you can hear them)

and the third is indesribable but not in a bad way (is that a hint of tobacco?)

I’ve been desperately sad and depressed, disappointed, and frankly angry over what’s gone down and how this situation has been handled. But the top and bottom of it is that there will be no more Star Stable comics or books.

We had so many things planned, so many things we wanted to write and draw about. I love the game and its characters, the world and everything it had to offer creatively. Any releases you see from now on, are all things that were finished long ago.

I was really looking forward to doing more stories about Morrigan and Galloper, Potato and Agnes. I wanted to see what happens to Concorde and the next chapter for the Vala.

I’m sad and tired. I want to look fondly back at the stuff I had the chance to do, it was a big part of my career for a long time.

I think that if done well this might be actually good for sso.. I see lot of negative opinions and I understand some of them. 

Breeding like in Alicia would be pain so that must be avoided at all costs - or actually, only the part with random coat and stats, because the fact that you can earn some money for registering your horse for breeding is actually great in my opinion. As someone said, a small fee of sc for ,,borrowing,, your horse for breeding would be a good side hustle.

The fact that breeding doesnt fit sso, I dont get. How does it not fit? Its a horse game, with priority of training, racing and mostly collecting them. (with some quests thrown in here or there) Breeding feels like just the next step. 

It would be amazing if sso gave us the option to either upgrade or sell our old models for sc before tackling this huge of an update but well, thats probably not in their plans.

Personally I would love the breeds to keep their realistic coat colours but that can be spiced up - 

Crossbreeding. I love pintos, appy coats and other funky coloured variotions co crossbreeding could bring some life to that. It would be probably for the best if the crossbreeds were like mules, so they couldnt breed anymore, so we would avoid having horses that are every sso breed mashed together

Hi! My name is Lotta, I'm working as the Lead Character/Creature artist at SSE.

A little while ago our game director Stacy Place made the announcement that we will start looking into breeding for SSO. In an interview she also mentioned a shader which will make it all possible.

I am the creator of this shader and currently I am one of the persons driving the development of  bringing breeding into SSO and trying to make it a reality.

Up till now I thought this was one of the highest requested features, hence my surprise when I saw the large number of negative comments and concerns you, the players, rose.

One of the biggest concerns I've seen is the gambling aspect. When I told Stacy, our game director, I had an idea of how to solve the coats for a breeding system the first thing she told me was "If we do this, we need to do it in a way so there's no gambling". We are still very early in development and have only started to look at the technical possibilities. Whatever this project turns into I can assure you, we will never make you to pay for any unwanted random generated horses. 

Another concern I've seen is that this would be an act of greed on our behalf. I just want to assure you I’m not driven by greed but passion for horse breeding. Right now, we are limited to 7 coats for each breed, and I would like to change that. I would like everyone to be able to ride their favorite breed with their favorite coat. I also want to develop a fun, engaging and educational breeding system (I think the science behind genes is quite fascinating), and I want to make our horses much more diverse and unique from each other just like horses are in real life.

I would like to understand your concerns properly so I can bring it with me into the development, I have been looking into all conversations about the topic I've found and I’m trying to understand, Now I would like to hear it straight from you.
