About the project
I am a master’s student in Visual Anthropology at Aarhus University researching imaginings of climate change in Scandinavia.
I am currently researching hyperlocal experiences of climate change (both in small neighborhoods and how affect around climate change is experienced in the body) in order to understand how global narratives are experienced locally.  The end product of my research is a short film, a curated event exhibiting participants’ contributed photographs, as well as a dissertation.  All of which will be made publically accessible and shared with participants.
Who I am looking for: I am currently seeking interested participants to contribute their perspectives and ideas on climate change.  As climate change affects all of us, any person with any background is welcome.  My research is focused on Scandinavia so living in Scandinavia is the only requirement.  One needs not be an expert, an artist, or extremely knowledgeable on the subject to participate - only interested.
What you would need to do: I am seeking participants for two different activities.  Participants may contribute to either or both activities according to their preference:
Creative Interview Participation: Short one-on-one interviews of approximately 15-20 minutes asking participants to creatively imagine and visualize climate change.  Audio will be recorded during interviews and could be used for a short film if consent is given.  Interview participants are sought after in Copenhagen, Aarhus, and Malmo. Schedule an interview by emailing: [email protected]
Digital Photo Submissions: Participants can take a photo they take in their neighborhood which they feel is related to climate change, including a description of how it is related of at least one sentence.   This can be submitted using the “Submit a Photo” page or emailed to: [email protected]     Photo submissions are accepted from anyone in Scandinavia.  Selected photos may be exhibited in a curated community art event in Scandinavia.
When: Now - August through October 2019 Interview times are flexible according to the schedule of interview participants. Interviews last between 15-20 minutes.
Where: Interviews are requested from anyone living in the Copenhagen Aarhus, or Malmo areas.   A convenient location will be mutually agreed upon for the interview.   I am more than happy to come to your neighborhood or a convenient location for you if you can spare a few minutes.
