I found it! I saw someone mention a continuation of your Shoto Merman piece and just had to come look for it!

This was short and bittersweet. 🥺 The way you were able to capture the quietness of the moment and his acceptance of his new life. It was honestly so good to see him doing well on land and thankfully the two can be together without threats of crazy scientist or experimentation looking over them if anyone else found out.

Wow, that went for a dark turn. Now I'm obsessed with a comedic turn where Mizushima and her friends try to keep Shoto hidden from people wanting to study him, with Kirishima as their double spy.

ANYWAYS. I love this and I see that as a fellow Kuroo stan you are CLEARLY a person with impeccable taste!

He’s standing in front of the curved glass, blue light casting shadows across his face  as he watches the fish gliding by on the other side. Longing flickers in his eyes. Mystified wonder. Your footsteps echo through the dome, the aquarium tunnel empty aside from the two of you.

Shouto’s gaze doesn’t leave the glass as your arms wrap around him from behind, but he leans into you when your lips press against the back of his shoulder. Glancing up at the glass, it’s easy to find what’s caught his attention.

The lionfish’s fins flutter as it swims in front of the glass, seeming to stare right back at Shouto.

Heart lurching, you bury yourself against his back. “Do you miss it?” Your voice is muffled by his shoulder blade and the soft cotton of his shirt. The steady rhythm of his heartbeat stutters at the question, only for a moment, and your arms squeeze tighter around his waist. One of your hands climbs higher, your palm pressing flat over his heart.

Shouto’s larger palm covers yours, his fingers lacing with yours as he guides guides your hand to his mouth. “Sometimes,” he says, lips brushing against your knuckles. “But I don’t regret it.”

“I know.” You stretch up onto your toes to kiss the side of his neck.

But that night they still can’t get it off, and they have a weird dream where they meet a stranger, Person B, who promises to find them and protect them. Person A wakes up and forgets the weird dream, until they come into their bedroom the next evening to find Person B sitting in their open bedroom window. Person B is the demon connected to the ring, and now that Person A put it on, Person A must marry Person B.
