...dear fucking lord--really? local news has nit wit weekend weather child (yes, weather child, they get the weekend meteroologists straight out of junior high)  pulling the “It’s really bad out here!” nearly get blown away. No shit dick tracy who gave you that clue. sustained 35mph winds with gusts in the 45-50mph range, sleet freezing rain in the wind and a current prediction for up to 18 inches of snow in the worst band . It’s called a fucking blizzard for a reason,  Weather Children playing I am an idiot we need some time fill on broadcast...is annoying. (yes I think the same thing, even worse about the ‘hard news reporters’ standing out on a beach in hurricanes. The poor weekend weather children are booted out the door to do this stupid because they are the weekend weather children not some idiot out for a fat bonus.)

Because TheGirl made me facepalm and go seriously child, (this is one of the two of mine that lettered in choir and is music freak. lol the music listening range in the family has SonInLaw side eyeing and going what? he thought girl was bad, and then got treated to me and girl playing music when baking xmas cookies and *STARED* Girl laughed at him “I get my music taste from my mama” which means yeah anything goes. The kid not into music much will go from Lefty Frizzel to Insane Clown Posse lol. All my crew get their music listening range from mama) also because I think at least one or two that might actualy see this might like these guys if they don’t already know them.  Acapella group that does mostly country leaning covers. @wanderingsmithca think you’d like them by music you’ve posted if you haven’t heard them before

Making Tony smile the smile DUM-E likes is a very tricky job, and the rules change all the time. Luckily DUM-E isn’t stupid. He’s been built to learn.

Salvation Army bell ringer. 40ish Latino guy, average joe type, clean cut blue collar (which while polite, there are some skeevy looking bell ringers, though the skeevy looking ones are usually the most polite in my experience locally)

Friday, went to Walmart with hub for groceries and shit, this guy was out front polite, happy holidays, etc etc, personable enough and all.  (Note Hub has long since gone gray, retreating hairline gray with white beard at that. I have silver creeping into my hair but not that noticeable at a glance, and have named each and every gray hair after stunts my children have pulled lol, but at a glance could be taken as easily as I was at Walmart with father not husband, and no there is not that great of age dif between us. I am 44 though look younger even with the silver trying to creep in my hair, he’s 50 and looks older) But this guy was on friday..huh wow they got a bell ringer out here that doesn’t look 210 and ready to collapse or a meth-mouthed type that looks like is going to have a seizure level of DTs.

Saturday, back to Walmart with daughter to get stuff for grandson’s bday. Grandson is 1 already ack. Daughter is 21, and SHORT(all of 5ft with shoes on) and takes after me in that she looks well younger than she is, in her case about 13 and that only because she’s got boobs. (I was 30 had 5 kids in tow, eldest then NINE and still had my ID questioned like fuck because it was debateable if I looked 21) SAME BELL RINGER AS THE DAY BEFORE

“Ladies ladies Hey ladies!” sharks grin stepping towards us and in general could be creepier. I’ve dealt with drunks that couldn’t take no for an answer that were less fucking skincrawling. My daughter almost fucking tripped me she sidled up so close as we went in the door past this asshole. She had her hand on her knife in her purse and I had keys in my fist ready to punch if he came half inch closer.

Never-poor people see a long list of community resource contact numbers and think ‘Wow, so much help available to those in need!’ Poor people see that list and think ‘How many wrong numbers and ‘no we don’t take Medicaid’ calls am I gonna have to make to confirm my suspicion that there is no help available, just agencies that look like help?’

Rural Version, 1st had experience as mother of severe autistic child--whatever is only available 3+hours away, and when you call no we only serve this that and the other county when it is the only resource of that kind *in the fucking state* never mind it’s three plus hours away it’s the only one in the goddamn state and you’re still outside the counties it serves by about 150 miles. You go with out, or cobble together something half assed makeshift make do out of research via google and things available at Wal-Mart (which is still almost a 40 minute drive away)

You make too much to qualify for ‘free services’ by all of 50 dollars a year, but you do qualify for  ‘sliding scale payment’ which is 80-120 an hour for said service that is 2 hours drive away. you can’t afford the time off work or the gas to *get* to that wonderfully ‘reduced sliding scale based on income’ 3x a week therapy for your kid.

The *ONE* specialist in the entire state doesn’t have an opening for four years, though yes you would qualify for waiver of anything that insurance does not cover Do you want to make an appointment for January of 2022?

There is a program, and only good one within a 100 miles but waiting list is three years long. and by the time there is opening will have aged out of the program’s covering range.

*EVERYTHING* is under 13, or under 18 but mostly under 13 because kids pull in heartstrings and dollars teenagers not so much and fuck over 18. Even if you can find  help for a severely disabled child, everything stops at 18. and tough shit, also you must hire a lawyer and go to court to get child declared severely disabled and incompetent and get yourself their continued guardian.to even be able to get them treated for a case of strep throat.or sinus infection at the docs--and pay the costs of the lawyer and court for that, when you’re living paycheck to paycheck and a week with ten dollars left at end to stick in bank for disaster fund is a good week. And any therapy, any thing said now18 yr old has for continuing anything is all on you with out so much as a hotline you can call for some help advice because no one deals with adults.

I feel so sorry for the poor Relay interpreter right now. Mr. Boo is talking to his Uncle on phone. BIL is deaf--and his spelling/language doesn’t translate well from ASL to written English well at all (His spelling is...dyslexic-to-point-of-near-indecipherable-nightmare if he’s using keyboard/writing/fingerspelling. If he has video connection to interpreter then that is plus for interpreter at least if his half is in able to be seen ASL, that is becoming more common at least) & Mr. Boo...convo is often (as now) circular repetitive bordering on nonsensical to anyone who isn’t with him constantly, pronunciation glitches with random bursts of droning noise.  But oh my...

4. Favorite Sam Chisolm moment and why?

Poor Sam, has this air of 'god help me i'm herding rabid kindergarteners and someone got them all drunk' most of the time even if he's the one that rounded up almost all the rabid kindergartners only one of the rest that wasn't Sam's idea to bring along was Red Harvest who showed up and said "I'm with you"

The two big Sam moments--catching Goody leaving Rose Creek & killing Bogue in the church with Emma are huge and emotional and fill in the bulk of Sam's arc as far as motivations and resolution But the moment that sets Sam's character so perfectly is buying Jack the Horse --all alright this drunk jackass will do. And it's a good horse.

I think the Jack the Horse and basically blackmailing Faraday into going along is my favorite and defines Sam so well. He agreed (mostly his own reasons but Emma struck a chord to actually tip him to agreeing) so he was going to get this done--and gets on with getting what he can for help. That moment just--sets Sam's character in stone so well, steady forward going to get this done, even if he's going to ride herd on crazy to do it, pure Sam, here we go, gonna do this so lets get this done.

10. Favorite Vasquez moment and why?

Vasquez...my favorite is the deleted scene w/ the teacher's son actually.  You see a different facet of Vasquez every scene he's in almost. And in a good way--sensible, adds a new piece of the character, but think the scene with the teachers son ties everything together for Vasquez character and shame it was left out.

17. Most attractive character and why?

ugh this is an evil question it really is. The only character (of the goodguys) that is truly unattractive is Faraday (yeah, Chris Pratt pretty but Faraday's the type of jackass I have no patience or tolerance for and if Faraday was played by an unappealing actor he'd probably be reviled across the board by fandom lol )

Red Harvest is the prettiest, hands down but...

Most attractive--I'm going with Goody, mostly because he is the easiest voice to catch to write got nothing else to use as a deciding factor for the rest of the cast, with Vasquez, Sam & Emma right on his heels and yeah, that's all I got for most attractive is able to grab a voice/write them. I can't say who is most attractive, just Faraday is least.

Horne- Get back here you little shit, I wanna talk to you

That exchange between Horne and Red Harvest is one of my favorites in the entire movie. The little character detail moments are great throughout, but this one, from the pair that--did Red Harvest say twenty whole words in the movie? Seriously. This one just sticks out as both defining for the pair and a funny little bright spot that isn't humor for the sake of humor eradicating any mood or character development which is really freaking hard to find in movies.
