//* “ ꜰᴇᴇʟꜱ ʟɪᴋᴇ ɪᴛ sometimes, ” hanjae muttered, playing along as he leaned over, placing a hand on his back in typical overdramatic fashion. “ damn kids are too much to keep up with these days!! ” the worst part was that there was truth behind that statement— even if hanjae could easily be considered a kid himself, his energy levels were nowhere near high enough to deal with the younger idols and trainees in the building. was this what getting old felt like? “ eh, it’s alright i guess. i haven’t stepped foot outside the studio since seven a.m… well— until now, i guess. gotta savor it while it lasts. ” at liqin’s offer to choose, the soloist raised his eyebrows in surprise for only a moment before his answer came to him, no second thought required. “ how does pizza sound? ” because the amount of times hanjae had a good old slice of pizza since he moved to seoul from chicago was slim to none. and as much as he loved korean dishes, there really wasn’t anything like home, and home to hanjae was a generous slice of deep dish.

︶︶︶༉‧₊˚ the younger male gleefully laughed at hanjae’s dramatic acting, shaking his head in agreement about the endless amount of energy. he was guilty of it, especially since he becomes quite hyperactive in the company of other restless, energetic idols and trainees, but usually he’s just a mellow bystander to whatever chaos may occur. ❝ where’s your cane, yéyé ?? ❞ he inquires in faux concern for the other before breaking into another fit of giggles, motioning for the other to take his arm for support. ❝ that’s definitely true when it comes to training . all work and no rest makes for an awful fest . ❞ that was an odd sounding phrase now that liqin thinks about it, immediately regretting it after he said it, so he tries to quickly move on from it in an embarrassed manner.

❝ pizza ? sounds good to me ! do you have any particular favourite toppings ?? ❞ genuinely speaking, he doesn’t really eat much pizza as he just sticks to familiar home cooking, restaurants and takeouts whenever he eats, especially when it comes to his group dinners——there always seems to be a squabble about what to eat or what is going to be cooked.

liqin was practically bouncing with restless energy in the van’s seat—he was either excitedly chatting about whatever the current topic was, singing some title track of theirs to the camera, or jostling his leg up and down in a fidgety manner. fortunately (or unfortunately for his seatmate), the seating arrangement of their group had him next to byeol as the former turned to demand attention and rope him in to doing a game.

❝ gē,  let’s do an acrostic poem !! the one who has the weirdest sounding one has to obey what the winner decides as a consequence !! ❞ the male suggested to the aforemtioned older male; liqin was rather confident in his ability to create poems, but he was still worried at the possibility of accidentally messing up with similar sounding words or making a nonsensical poem.  ❝ or we could play rock, paper, scissors ?? ❞ that was probably a better chance for him to win, despite the chances being split to three items.

︶︶︶༉‧₊˚    ❝ kid ?! who are you: my grandpa, hanjae ?? ❞ liqin inquires teasingly at the older soloist’s welcoming greet, shaking his head in disbelief from the former words. ❝ but hello !! i hope you are having a good morning, well, afternoon, so far !! ❞ he responded in kind. at his inquiry, the younger of the two was about to politely decline the offer, but he knew this probably was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to hang out and befriend the older, so he thought against refusing, replying back with slight shrug and a smile.   

❝ well, if it’s your treat, you should choose then !! i’ll eat anything, i swear, so surprise us ? ❞ the vocalist didn’t want to accidentally pick a place that the other may not enjoy, so it’s easier to just go somewhere that the older certainly enjoys. liqin would feel bad if he [as in hanjae] didn’t like the food, even the rational side of him knew the dishes of the restaurants surrounding them were possibly of similar tastes. it just takes one meal to ruin a day, or so that’s what the younger believed, possibly fretting more of being given a choice than actually having to maintain a conversation with hanjae. 

//* ɪɴᴠɪᴛɪɴɢ ᴛʜᴇ ʏᴏᴜɴɢᴇʀ artists in the company out to lunch with him wasn’t something that hanjae did often— really, he admired lily for putting up with his own annoying ass, as he was sure he came off just as naive to her as others did to him. but liqin was someone hanjae found that he could easily tolerate, god forbid actually like. he’d never really been the older brother type, found that having authority in any type of relationship was too much responsibility for him to handle. he could barely keep himself afloat, how was he supposed to give advice and be an anchor for someone younger? but despite the age gap, liqin had debuted before hanjae ( to be fair, there was a good reason that his own debut had been delayed ), so it almost felt like the scales were a bit more balanced between them, like he could breathe easier with him.

“ hey, kid!! ” the soloist greeted lightheartedly as a familiar face approached where he was waiting by so!ar’s lobby doors. “ what do you want for lunch, hm? my treat. ” to be entirely fair, hanjae hadn’t just invited him out for food for no reason— he actually needed his help with something, and so it was only natural that he pay for the meal in exchange. that was something that older brothers were supposed to do, right? hanjae wouldn’t know.

 she smirks, eyebrows raising as he quickly changed from surprised to idol mode. that seamless switch idols could do always impressed her - especially since she knows the fans wouldn’t have caught it. at his words, sunhee lets out a faux gasp. “of course they matter !! you’re gotten handsomer since then, that’s why i didn’t recognize you. that’s not my fault, it’s yours.” she teases, but regrets it immediately after – she knows she’s joking but a comment like that could easily be misconstrued and warrant hate from possessive fans. with a clear of her throat, sunny moves along quickly. “vocalist, hm? could you sing a bit of your latest title track, to show the people who may not know you what they’re missing?”

❝ really ? flattering me to appease my hurt feelings ? you must think me as some egoist when clearly you take all the visuals between the two of us !! ❞ liqin returns her teasing remark with his own. it merely is friendly banter and camaraderie as he believed, hoping their viewers wouldn’t take their statements with anything more than simple friends being genuine about compliments, not some hidden, behind-the-scene’s couple. he appreciates how quickly and professionally she moves on, nodding his head along before making eye contact with the camera once more.  ❝ of course ! it is our latest release of Feel the Heat with “Would U Be My” !! ❞ he introduces before beginning to hum lightly. ❝ sing along if you know it . ❞ he adds, making a fist to act as a microphone as he began a rendition of the song’s chorus.

︶︶︶༉‧₊˚   curiously exploring so!ar’s building was a rather boring past time of liqin’s, but it was arguably one of his favourites, allowing him to have a peace of mind without the chaos of too many members back in the dorms. it was clear that he hadn’t expected the sudden appearance of his fellow label-mate doing what seems to be a live, prompting his own surprised look as he was abruptly roped into her antics. admittedly, he was slightly annoyed at having been interrupted from his walk, but he wouldn’t show that to the fans watching, flashing up his practiced finger hearts and a bright-eyed smile to appear at ease. ❝  stranger ? i’m wounded, sunny ! i would have hoped you would’ve recognized me ! guess our trainees days no longer matter, huh ? ❞ he jokingly says, feigning a hurt expression before releasing it with a laugh.  ❝ hello !! i am liqin, vocalist and the best maknae of mxs !! you all better be streaming legacy’s EP . ❞ he scolds lightly.  

 vlive had to be one of her favorite past times. how could it not, when she got to sit there for an hour and a half and just talk? it was practically sunny’s dream. she’d been offering a tour of so!ar’s building when she catches sight of an approaching figure, a soft gasp escaping her. “look, everyone ! a guest.” she flips the camera to face the person she’s referring to. was it bad manners to put someone on the spot like this? incredibly so, but she didn’t think they’d mind - or at least they wouldn’t until the camera shut off, and if that was the case, she’d simply make an escape before she got in trouble. “introduce yourself, stranger ! but do it nicely, please, these are my fans you’re talking to !”

my intro was deleted thrice!! how!! / (⁎˃ᆺ˂)＼, so this is a very late post, but hello !! i am marisol [est,they&them] and i am v excited to get to know + plot with you all !! this is my son liqin, vocalist & maknae of mxs (moon unit) ! i’ll be doing a proper bio + stats + plots eventually but for now, if you’d like to plot, like this post or im me !! 

˗ˏˋ  ( huang renjun. nineteen. he/him. ) cai liqin is a ‘00 liner + has been at so!ar entertainment for 3 years. they are the vocalist + maknae in the group mxs. they are known by their fans to be amiable, witty + compassionate but they can also be perfectionist, reticent + allocentric. i hope that they can make it in this industry. backstory

born on January 6, 2000, in Wuhan, People’s Republic of China, Liqin is an only child of the Cai’s

his family has always been in the limelight of fame: his mother, Cai Melin, is a model turned actress, known for her roles in several renown dramas and films, and his father, Cai Rui, is an actor, starring in many international films

with fame, came high expectations from his parents, regarding on how he should act, what he should do, and who to be friends with; basically, his life wasn’t really in his hands, practically raised to be the best of the best and failure isn’t an option; hence, his perfectionist nature. 

otherwise, if he didn’t comply with his parents’ wishes, he would be disciplined, which furthers his fear of failure & disappointment.

extra: he found joy in singing & playing the piano! these would get him through rough patches of his life.

he was also expected to take after his parents in becoming an actor; his mother would have him audition for different roles as a child actor, starring in ‘The Moon & Stars’ and ‘Eternal Youth’, as well as filming several CFs

**perhaps Liqin may have met a fellow child whom he quickly became best friends with, bonding over their life in the limelight

he picked up singing at the age of eight, having been witness to idols and seeing their ability to make others and leave their mark in the world; Liqin didn’t really want to pursue acting as furiously as he wanted to do singing

he begged his parents to be able to formally train with proper vocal lessons, and they relented, seeing as it still is a career path, but only with compromises that if it doesn’t work. he’ll remain as an actor

around thirteen years of age, he auditioned for companies near and far, finding a certain calling to so!ar entertainment, except he really didn’t speak the language 

extra: he is a BIG fan of impulse, primera, and c2, and a fan of his fellow label mates!

thankfully, he was accepted in spite of such, but it began the tough life of an idol trainee, which he wasn’t accustomed to

it was a very rough three years, and there was some points in which Liqin wanted to give up and go back to his parents, but the fear of disappointed and his own personal sense of determination kept him going

finally, he debuted as a member of mxs within the moon unit as a vocalist and resident maknae; he maintains a maknae on top facade with his members on screen, but behind the scenes, he’s more docile and prefers the attention on others rather than himself

he’s admittedly worried at the rumors of their disbandment, but he doesn’t show it outwardly, fixated on keeping such thoughts out of his members’ and his own head!
