Oh yeah, speaking of Xenogears...

though when am I ever not talking about Xenogears? lol

Check out these posts! I just had to put this info somewhere other than in scattered Twitter threads, so Godsibb forum it is! Because it took me 2 years of obsessing over this game before I found all of this out. Some of which being the ~mysterious~ unused Alice/Dan/Sophia animation screenshots that I'd only ever heard speculation of in the English side of the fandom- things that everyone in the Japanese side of the fandom likely has always known the answer to since before the game even came out. And other things that I'd never heard anyone in the fandom talk about- the extended Khan/Grahf animation and the Anima Dungeon 2 carving.

Seriously, its so good. I played it across 2020-2021 and I haven't been the same since (that's a good thing). As soon as I finished the game I knew I wasn't fully grasping it all, but I knew I'd just experienced something truly special, I just needed some more time to absorb everything (and to read Perfect Works. and the Timeline wiki page- that helped a lot). While I was playing XB3 afterward I couldn't help but think of XG because of how much they were retelling parts of it. And then after I finished XB3 my obsession with XG hit- ever since September 2022 I haven't stopped thinking about it.

I just 💖 I adore this game, flaws and all, its unlike any other story I've ever experienced. It had so, so much potential, as a fully fleshed out game how they wanted to make it and as a series of games/manga/anime/light novels/what have you.

You know, if you've got a Steam Deck you can play it on there. I don't have one myself, but one of my Twitter oomfs who does actually got my "Perfect ART Works" portraits/texture mod working on there, so it comes to mind every time someone mentions wanting XG on the Switch for portability.

Oh yeah- obligatory shoutout to the "Perfect Works Build" mod- check it out, its the definitive way to play the game and they're not even completely done with it. They just updated the other day to 0.4.1, iirc.

I feel like 3yrs prior he was oblivious, but as he grew more accustomed to emotions, people, & social cues he picked up on her feelings easily. That pause his little sprite does before leaving & those ellipses are a big tell that he isnt as oblivious as he makes himself out to be.

Its a little headcanon of mine that Aruru started learning more advanced medicine from Citan, as Lahan is a very conservative old village where the women are likely taught from a young age to take on the role of nurses/caretakers for the village, so I think she helped Fei recover and became fast friends with him that way, pulling Timothy along into forming their little group.

Im glad the distance was felt there. but hmm, i was too lazy to extend the picture to the left after the fact to make it more obvious that Grahf does indeed have pants on 😂 like you can see it a bit, but uhh after drawing his torso i just didnt wanna cover it with clothes.

-*that* level of intimacy wasnt intended from the start, but rather only the implied closeness of understanding between one another that they would feel comfortable in each other's presence. And with that level of separation and distance coming most entirely from him and any closeness felt coming from her specifically.

...though there is a bit of closeness coming from him considering he's still here and hasn't pulled away from her during her little moment of feeling more humanity within herself.

Elaborated more over on Twt about how I think Myyah would use him for her own goal, knowing he'd be fine and can jump bodies, but he is more human and would take that for what it is, being used. He'd lose his original Contact body and would then have to spent centuries waiting to get it back in order to fulfill his own goal which is separate from hers.

In-game, 9999, it feels like he's had multiple instances of learning to not trust her over the centuries. With her having to ask him "so please..." when requesting he make sure Id doesnt get Emeralda.

Then ofc when he nearly threatens her, "I don't know what you are up to, but don't you dare think about plotting against me. You stay out of this!".

And ofc his line at the end, "Miang and Elhaym…are not just Deus' mouthpieces. That 'woman' is its main body! Why can't you see that?"

I like the idea of 9501-9510 Myyah/Grahf simply for the potential Myyah character exploration through her connection to the Contact that she never really had vs her "sister"s. Just maybe some rare fleeting moments of feeling more human before programming takes over again.

And like, its almost completely superficial in the end because Grahf is not the same as Lacan, not the same as her sister-clone's other half; it may be Lacan's body but he's trapped within.

And maybe Grahf understands that fleeting feeling she has of being trapped in the cycle, because its something he's trying to end, but he still knows she's bad news and her programming is stronger than Cain's.

It may only be strictly supported by Anthology & my own headfanon, but non-canon stuff is fun to contemplate. I used to be so stuffy about canon with everything. I still feel like Im having to justify to myself why Im liking something non-canon, its seriously a pain in the neck lol

She has a tail, so not a gormotti, but if Elly were a catgirl I think she'd be an orange maine coon.

Certainly not for their large size- she's so petite- but for their beautiful long fur & regal appearance. Was thinkin of those sketches (in PW) that Tanaka sent to Square via fax; cat Emeralda & one of the random girls in this pose.
