Term 2 Environment & Sustainability Evaluation
To begin with, I am happy that we’re back in college on the Monday because I prefer doing work there then doing it at home because I am still struggling to get much work done in a home environment. One of my strengths would be working on Photoshop and illustrator because I did digital design in school, on the other hand my weakness would be using the camera and what does what so I would like to improve on that for my final project.
For my final outcome I was going to use a photo of a pile of rubbish but instead I used a photo of a seagull because I thought it would be better to show what we need to protect and that’s the beaches. I quite like the font I used because its bold and clear, the text is just the background but with a light shadow so you can see it clearly.
For this project I did not do enough research so for my final project I plan to do a lot more research because it’s a fresh start, I’m a lot more motivated and already have some plans in mind. Starting with how to use a camera properly.
This term my GCSE English work has improved a lot since last term because I have my mum with me at home while I do it, as well as the one to ones with my teacher I’m sure I can secure a 4 in English by the end the of year.
Next I also learned how to use the correct lighting techniques in class I also borrowed some lights from college so I can work on it from home. I would like to look into the B/W workshop again sometime because i am going to use some B/W photography in my final project.

For my final poster i decided to show diversity within music through old cosset tapes and records, these came together really well in the end. I love how the text stands out because it contrasts to the records.

Term 1, Zine final evaluation.
To begin with I aimed to write about my friend’s personal experience in lockdown, but after some failed attempts to take good photos to go with this I changed my topic completely and wrote about my own my own personal experience in lockdown with this is took a few photos which represented me and added a couple to the page. On the next page I showed off some nice photos I took on Dartmoor and wrote a piece to go with them, on that page I wanted to make a point, even in these dark times we are still free to go out and have an adventure. In the text I wrote about what makes the quarry so interesting, I hoped this would motivate people to go out and explore the ruins of Dartmoor more often.
I’m quite proud how my pages turned out and I really like the design I did and how I laid the text and photos out. On the other hand, I am least proud of not communicating with my group very well, I didn’t really know what they were doing and I didn’t know where I was going to put my pages.
In terms of meeting deadlines and doing the work I really struggled this term working at home is not easy for me. In my online classes I mostly sit and listen. I don’t contribute to anything so that is something I would like to work on for the next term. Also, for next time I want to try and produce more written work such as research.
