Last month I overcame being in the hospital due to stress. Yup. . It changed me! . I outsourced everything and anything that I could. (I now have a team of 4) . I decided to STOP THE DOUBT! One of my fears is being judged for being me. I know, I know we shouldn’t let the opinions of others affect us. But if I were being honest, sometimes it does. . It’s hard...This is hard. Life is hard... I can not explain how in one moment you want to say everything and in the same instant there are no words, there is nothing that can be said that can actually capture a lifetime in a phrase or a person you dearly love within a few sentences, or a few seconds. My Brother January 1st 1986 - October 3rd 2019. We love you Tito. There is not a day that goes by that I do not think of you, act a scene as you did or even question the loss. I love you T. . I was out on a run when I received the news that my brother had passed away. It was one of the worst news I have ever received in my life. . When I finally got the chance to go home I remember hugging my boys, my family and thinking “I want to LIVE.” As though I, myself was fighting for my own life. I thought, I want to Live for my family, my children, for God. . I don’t understand why tragedies like these happen. I’m not one to sit here and make sense of it. I’m still healing, it has been a traumatic experience. . I can’t put into words how all of this, all of it, all touches and moves my heart to Live. Andy my youngest who is 3, after giving him a breakfast bar asks me...”Mamá what color is this?” . I said, “it looks brown baby, what color do you think it is?” Looking at both of my boys. . Andy looks down at it within his beautiful 3 year old hands and lightly questions it to himself, “it’s brown?” . My six year old Manny as he’s chomping on his breakfast bar says, “It looks like a human color! It’s a human color!” . I marveled at this, as I have not mentioned the color stories that are going on in today’s climate to my littles. . Maybe they are teaching me something? Perhaps it’s not black, white, brown, red, yellow or blue perhaps it’s a human color? Perhaps it’s a human problem? . We are all human beings, divine light, children of the Most High God. . “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden” Matthew 5:14 . I acknowledge that racism is wrong and it comes in all colors. We have to recognize what it is, it is hate and a divide that color makes a difference in your Character and that is simply a lie from the enemy. . Whether you are good, bad or law abiding it doesn’t reflect on your skin. Let’s all be in agreement of that. Evil does not have a color. Good does not have a color. . Hate, and fear should never be dictators of our lives but LOVE should always shine brighter in the darkness. We should lead with LOVE. . I also want to say that I understand how it is to feel targeted for a propaganda and wonder if this keeps going will you be stopped and arrested on the street with your children, in order to incite fear and hate. Will your spouse? Do you have that fear? If you do I sympathize with you. If you don’t, I also sympathize with you because we all have become a target of evil. Do you see that? . Sometimes it’s hard to even think or fathom. It’s something many of us do not want to even think, talk about but now it has definitely been shoved in our face. . How do we, in our varied complexities, find unity, peace & love? .
