For my self remix, I used the midi loop sample assignment, and slowed the tempo down, for a more calmer, cooler atmosphere. I also made use of the synth, added some leads, also added some strings, because I personally love a string outro that eventually fades out.

hyperrealistic recording, surrealist recording (studio version) because of mixing, layered harmonies, cleaner, smoother sound overall, etc.
**Live version is realistic
made beat with Soundtrap, synth, kick, hi hat, rain (anither realistic sound) fades out.

Realistic recording- This is my original song i wrote, but this is the very janky, very lacking in quality, unmixed, voice memo i recording while laying in my bed writing it. This recording was more so i could remember what i had already worked on, when i came back to it finally. What makes it realistic, is the fact that its my raw voice; no audio tune, no mixing, just my natural vocals recorded on a iPhone.
hyperrealistic recording- This is the same song but, the version i recorded in the studio. It has been mixed and there is a bit of audio tune to enhance the vocals i already have. This recording is more smooth and my clear and much more even in sound. What makes this version hyperrealistic, is the the fact that the receiving is my raw vocals, but it’s enhanced for a more appealing sound.
Surrealist recording- I used the same version of my original sing Boys and Girls, that was recorded and mixed in the studio, because while its also hyperrealistic, it is also a surrealist recording, because there are like four part harmony parts with my own vocals, that i i recored and layered. So that obviously is not possible to harmonize with myself in real time, so it had to be prerecorded and layered to achieve the harmony parts throughout the song, because i don’t have my own background vocalists, its all me.

The first thing that stands out to me is (what i believe) to be a snare hitting the rim of the drum to achieve that little 5 beat tap thats we hear throughout the song. I also hear a very prominent baseline, i wasn’t quite sure what was keeping the melody, throughout, but i figured it was either a piano or electric guitar. I hear quite a few horns in the song as well for extra effect; and a very dissent string section, once we reach the second verse. There is also a saxophone we hear through trout the song too. I noticed the melody for the instrumental is in harmony as well as Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell when they sing.

In this peer edit i sampled Julie Paul’s beat Longing For a Purpose, i liked the eery sound of the vocals, i added a synth lead to it after cutting to, what i believed to be the chorus of her song. I added a kick which remains the whole time, as well as a high hat which drops out towards the last measure in the music. Then i faded it out, to add dramatic effect for those vocals as they are the outro.
