as the the resident dropout enjoyer on my dash i have a question for you
I love Droput based on the free episodes and random scenes on YouTube. I am now trying to convince my partner to get Droput with me
What's the best episode to get someone into it if they've not heard of it before?
If they're a fan of ttrpg actual plays, dimension20 is your obvious in; just start with the first episode of whichever season matches their favourite genre. If they're not already a fan of ttrpg actual plays though, I wouldn't show them dimension20 to start with. There's absolutely no way I'd have gotten dropout for dimension20.
I got dropout for Game Changer and Make Some Noise, based on exposure to funny clips over many years. Between those, I think Make Some Noise might be a better onroad, because some episodes of Game Changer rely heavily on knowing who these people are (the very first episode, Lie Detector, is one million per cent less interesting if you think of the contestants as random people you never expect to see again in anything). I'd just start with your favourite Make Some Noise clips. My personal favourites are the pistachio being protected by its shell, and the font showdown.
If your partner is more into narratives than game shows, one of their shows like Kingpin Katie might be a better in. But they are, in the nature of collegehumor, somewhat goofy. Or there's the podcasts, which I think are free in their entirety on youtube? I might be wrong though. Just pick whichever one fits your partner's interests.
