Oliver wondered if it was too desperate and pathetic to be doing what he was doing, but he felt like he had no other choice. He needed this for his appearance and it would seem that he wasn’t above paying someone to help him do it. “Precisely,” he answered her question and nodded. “I can’t have another actress be my girlfriend, because it will definitely look like a PR stunt then,” he replied as if it should be obvious to her and shook his head. “Plus, I would prefer my friends to not know that it isn’t real. I’ll make it worth your while, you know I’m good for it,” he told her, she’d seen his house and the car he drove. She had probably even seen one of his numerous movies. He was kind of a big deal.
Tumblr media
Okay so maybe that did make sense that he didn’t want to have another actress play his girlfriend. The last few months of living here, housesitting for her cousin, she had learnt that fake relationships for media attention were more popular than she had previously thought. “And it wouldn’t look like a PR stunt with me? I’m your neighbour, So it’s the same principle of convenience and proximity.” Plus she was a normal woman, they didn’t really have things in common. So he didn’t want his friends to know it was fake either, which meant she wouldn’t be able to tell her friends either. They’d never believe she landed a movie star like him. “Don’t make it sound like that. Makes me feel like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman.” She had a mountain of student loans though. So maybe it wasn’t the worst idea... Harley pressed her lips together, quiet for a few minutes as she weighed out the pros and cons. “If I do this, we have to set some ground rules...”

Alec couldn’t help but roll his eyes when he heard the exaggerated sigh he heard Kennedy let out on his entrance. They’d grown up together so he was used to her heavy mouth breathing and sighing at all times, he would be worried if he didn’t hear it. That is if he cared enough to be worried about the blonde girl. “Missed you too, Kenny,” he cooed at Kennedy, reaching over to ruffle and mess her hair with his knuckles as he walked past her to go to the refrigerator to grab a bottle of water. “Well, too freakin’ bad. Gonna have to get used to me being real close these days. What with the living together part, babe,” he replied, smirking as he leaned against the counter and sipped at his water.
Tumblr media
It had always been like this. Even back in school. Somehow they were always put into the same schools, something their mothers had arranged no doubt. They were trying to force them to be friends, but they were just fundamentally different. She sat in the front of the class, noting down everything important the teacher said while he did what he could to distract the teacher from actually teaching. It’s why she was so annoyed that he also chose to study law and at the same college as her. She just couldn’t get away from him, it was infuriating. “Don’t touch my hair.” She huffed in annoyance, taking out her phone to see her reflection trying her best to smooth it over with her hands.  “I can’t wait.” For him to move out. “I love spending time with you, babe.” Her tone was clearly sarcastic as she rolled her eyes at his ‘cool guy stance’. Couldn’t he just stand like a normal person? “I have a lecture in an hour so i will actually murder you if you bother me during the lecture.”

mascotollie:
Mia had been having a wonderful time with Nate and all of his friends, getting to know them in a way that she hadn’t before. In the past all she ever would have been to Nate or any of his friends was Danny’s little sister. She was sure it was different now, now she was also Nate’s friend. She liked this development, this new thing that her and Nate had. Of course she had always dreamt of there being more to it, had been dreaming of it for years and since the first time she had actually met Nate, but she had come to the realization a long time ago that, that wouldn’t be happening for them. Even if she was Nate’s friend now as well, she was and always would be his best friend’s little sister as well. She didn’t know how wrong she really was about all of that either. “Oh, she did?” she asked, brows going up a little in surprise then laughing at what Nate said next, giving his arm a playful, little push. “Good to know you’re asking people who only just met me about me, Nate,” she joked and shook her head at him. “Not like you’ve known me practically all my life,” Mia continued with a laugh, rolling her eyes fondly. She bit her lip lightly around a smile at his words. No, she couldn’t let herself fall down that hole again. She knew that Nate didn’t mean this as an actual date, she was there because she’d always be in Nate’s life and that was better for the pictures than some random chick on his arm. “Well, I’m glad she likes me. I liked her too, everyone, honestly. And I- I really enjoyed tonight,” she told him honestly. She rolled her eyes at him again and shook her head. “Oh please, as if I could make a dent on you,” she laughed at his dramatic words. Her brows furrowed at his questions and laughed again, shaking her head at the man. “With the bride?” she replied, motioning back towards where they had just come from. “You know, who we were just talking about,” Mia teased. “What’s got you so lost, hmm?”
Tumblr media
Tonight had been more than he had thought it would be and he didn’t quite know if that was a good thing or a bad thing. On the one hand it confirmed for him that it wasn’t just simple attraction he was feeling for her and that he wasn’t just thinking with his dick. That realisation however brought on a heap of issues in itself. She was Danny’s little sister. His best friend would murder him. No doubt about that. Even though Nate knew all that, he found himself caring less and less about that. “She’s a good judge of character. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity.” He joked back, his tone light as a smirk was playing at his lips. She had a nice laugh too. It wasn’t something he consciously realised until right now. Mia was right, he had known her practically her entire life, his too. She had been a constant in his life since she’d been born, Danny’s and her mom always made them take her with them due to little Mia’s complaints about being left behind. He had taken part in one too many tea parties as a child. “They liked you too.” She fit right in with them, he had been surprised by just how easily she did, actually. Then again, he hadn’t met anyone that didn’t like her so maybe he shouldn’t have been that surprised. Nate sighed, his hand rubbing on the ‘sore’ spot her hit had created. “I already feel a bruise coming.” He was about to suggest her nursing him back to health when he stopped himself, his thoughts going into dangerous territory.  Nate ran a hand through his hair, her voice bringing him back to reality. “The bride. Yeah. Right. Sorry.” So overplaying that hadn’t worked as well as he had hoped. “Oh it’s nothing. Don’t worry about it. Do you.. do you wanna come in?”

Kennedy sighed in annoyance when she spotted him, refusing to look up from the course prep book she was currently reading through. The professor assigned reading material before the first class and she wanted to be prepared so that she could participate in the lesson. It was 30% of the grade after all and she wanted to keep her track record of good grades as high as it was in high school. School was something that she always liked due to the structure of it all. “My mom told your mom that you guys could stay here, but that doesn’t mean that we’re friends. So you can just do your thing, preferably as far away from me as possible.”

“Like mold? Oh well then I’m sold. Can’t wait for it to grow on me like a fungus” Jax shook his head as he laughed, what an odd metaphor. He hadn’t quite had an expectation for what Izzy would be like, but it definitely wasn’t like this. “Oh? Maybe you shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover” he replied, but shrugged “No you’re right. I’m no knitter. Just a tea drinker.” and with that he tried to have another larger sip of the coffee, which nearly got spat out at Izzy’s next comment. He swallowed and let out a laugh “Does that make me Richard Gere? I should be so lucky, he’s got far more money than I do, and stays in far nicer hotels than me. But yeah, theres absolutely no sex happening here.” he waved his finger between the two of them.
Tumblr media
“Knew I’d get you there. I have been told I’m excellent at compelling arguments. It’s a gift. I should’ve gone into marketing.” She continued her tone confident despite the fact that she wasn’t being serious. Judging a book by its cover is what everyone always did to her. They thought she was a drug addict, or that she didn’t finish high school, maybe they thought she was an idiot. None of them really knew her, they already made their mind up once they heard about her profession. Why should she try to impress them to prove them wrong when it was impossible to change their mind? “Richard Gere had this put together old guy charm about him, you look too young to use that angle.” Sh quipped back before nodding mock serious. “No sex. Got it. I’ll keep my hands to myself then.”

“If I just went to drink the whole thing black, I wouldn’t be able to get through it. It’d be a waste of coffee and money” he shrugged, sipping at the now slightly sweetened coffee. It was still terrible. Why’d he do this to himself. “I might knit. Who’s to say?” he grinned, he absolutely didn’t, but he wasn’t a woman in her sixties, so if he had to compromise on one thing for his enjoyment of tea, he could learn if he had to. He took the note of her bank details and put it in his top pocket so he wouldn’t forget. “Yeah, absolutely. Well, I appreciate it. I mean the force does- but- yeah. I appreciate it”
Tumblr media
“You’ll learn to like it in time. It grows on you. Like mold.” Izzy joked, knowing that this wasn’t the best analogy but choosing it exactly because of that. It was meant to be funny as she could clearly see him struggle with the bitter taste of the coffee. Looking at him for a moment she shook her head. “I’m good at reading people and you don’t seem like a knitter to me.” It was a hobby her mother had taken up in the hospital to keep busy. “I kind of feel like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. Only that I get this money without having sex with you for it.” Was he the type to dish back out or blush or stutter away? She didn’t know yet so she wanted to see.

“Thats fine, nobody has to follow you. I’ll just text you from time to time to check in, see if you need anything, or if you have any information for us.” he could understand the idea of having someone follow you, for any reason, would be unsettling, even if it was for safety. He wouldn’t insist on anything like that unless he believed she was really in danger. “Yeah I know. I’m trying to train myself to like it. You won’t think less of me if I say I prefer a tea?” he smiled, putting half a packet of sugar in the coffee and stirring it to make it a bit easier to drink. “I’ll make sure you get paid on time then, just give me the bank details of the account you want it paid into” he nodded. “I wanted to say thanks, by the way, for doing this. Can’t be easy I’m sure, but I’ll help you with whatever you need.”
Tumblr media
“Okay. I can work with that.” It was a better option than someone shadowing her and reporting her every move. Izzy cared about her privacy too much to let someone invade it like that. Even the people she was closest to didn’t know where she lived as she liked to keep her two worlds separate. “You have to build up your tolerance then. Be tough and just drink it black.” She shook her head when he put sugar in his coffee, being under the impression that it ruined the taste. “I wouldn’t judge you for drinking tea if you were a woman in her sixties that liked to knit in her free time.” Izzy teased, a smile on her lips to make him think she wasn’t insulting him with her comparison. She never met a man who preferred tea to coffee. There was a first for everything. When he mentioned the bank details she took a notepad out of her purse, writing down her bank details for him so he knew where to transfer the money to. “It’s not easy at all, but sometimes you have to do what needs to be done. For the greater good.” Izzy hadn’t been sure about how good of an idea this was at first, but her boss had convinced her that it could be beneficial for them so she didn’t really have a choice. Thank god she was a good actress. She didn’t like how willing to help he was, there had to be a catch.

mascotollie:
Tyler knew the Chase family, had met the parents multiple times and the other two children a few times. Enough to know now that he and Cassie would likely have made a better match than the girl in front of him. He had heard a lot about the youngest Chase child. Not exactly all good things, but enough to know that this wasn’t going to be smooth sailing. Her reputation had preceded her, and what Tyler knew, it was evident that the girl was the complete opposite of him and it was going to take a while before they’d get to an even footing with each other.
He nodded at her words and kept the smile on his face. “Right, Cece, I’ll keep that in mind,” he told her, though it would probably take a while for the man to actually get that right and not use her full name each time he referred to her. He had hoped that he’d be able to keep the conversation flowing with their father, but they were soon relegated to another table to play at getting to know each other like the world’s worst blind date. It wasn’t that he didn’t think the girl was beautiful, Tyler wasn’t blind. He could see that Cece was a gorgeous woman, but even just a short exchange of words made it evident that the two would have absolutely nothing to talk about. And while Tyler was blunt and a workaholic, he wasn’t rude enough to pull out his phone while at dinner with someone.
Tyler’s brow went up when the girl asked for two cosmos right off the bat, was he going to have to get her in a program as well? He knew she liked to party, but he’d hoped she didn’t actually have a drinking problem. He asked for a scotch neat and turned his attention back onto Cece just as she started talking about a party. “Well, I’m pretty sure we’re going to have to get through dinner at least,” he answered, glancing across the restaurant then back at her. “Since we’re still actually being watched,” Tyler added. “And I doubt we’re going to be going separate ways afterwards either. Least of all to some tacky parties.”
Tumblr media
While Tyler had been spending time with her parents and occasionally Cassie or Kyle, she’d been hanging around his siblings TJ and Tessa. They turned out to be some of her best friends over the years and through them she’d heard the odd comment about their nerdy, stuck up younger brother Tyler. Clearly they hadn’t been exaggerating.
“You better.” She hated being called by her full name. It made her feel so grown up, so old. He had the same energy as her full name, she couldn’t fully explain it, but she could tell that they weren’t on the same wavelength. He was entirely too serious for her liking. Cece doubted that he had what it takes to handle her. Why had her parents chosen him? It didn’t make sense to her. She heard the stories, her parents were fun once, cool even, what happened to that? Why were they trying to ruin her life by forcing her to marry a suit?
Scotch. Warm scotch on top of that since he didn’t take it with ice. How boring and unimaginative. It seemed the perfect analogy for his personality. “Oh, I can’t eat right now. I have to be in lingerie later.” She had never planned on staying for the entire dinner, she would’ve just gotten a dessert and some drinks and then left. Subtly looking into the direction of their parents she sighed noticing that they were staring at them. As if this wasn’t awkward enough. “Tacky party?” She blinked like the man in the meme, scoffing at him. He did not just say that.  It didn’t take much to make Cece angry and he clearly accomplished that pretty quick. “My friend is turning 21 and she just made the Playboy cover. It’s a huge accomplishment that she achieved completely by herself. Not that you’d know anything about that, working in Daddy’s company. You act like a Boomer, it’s the 21st Century, if we wanna reclaim Playboy we can. You can’t just call it tacky because your superiority complex makes you think you’re better than us. I will go to this party whether you’ll come with me or not. And if I have to take you and you say one negative word about the party or my friends I will make your life hell. Do you understand me? That’s not a threat, that’s a promise.” She drew the line at someone belittling or demeaning her friends. Isabel wasn’t even here to defend herself so Cece took it upon herself.

@lidiacifuentes:
Tyler was sitting on the couch of Cece’s living room, eyes down on his phone and tapping away with his thumb to type a response to his assistant, informing her what he needed for her to keep ready and waiting on his desk first thing the next morning. He almost didn’t even look up when Cece walked out, claiming to be ready for whatever party it was that she was headed to this time. He looked up momentarily then back down at his phone, then quickly back up again once he had processed what he had actually seen. “What the hell is that?” he asked, brows furrowing together into a frown as he looked the girl over. The man even stood up and crossed his arms across his chest, thinking the situation warranted it. “You are not going out like that.” he told her firmly. Was that latex? Leather? He didn’t know, but he knew that he hated it and it was utterly unacceptable for his fiancée to be walking around in that out and about.
Tumblr media
Her parents wouldn’t have let her leave the restaurant without Tyler, she knew that, so she had to improvise. There was no way she was missing a fun party, especially because of some snooze fest like him. So she decided to have him accompany her to the party. With her luck he’d leave five minutes in and then she could go have fun. And then she could still keep her promise to TJ and let him come through. He told her he wanted to go knowing it turned into a lingerie party after midnight. Cece rolled her eyes. “A dress. Duh.” What the hell was his problem? She knew she looked great so why not own it in a dress like that? Her outfit change was already packed in her purse. She furrowed her eyebrows in confusion for a moment when he told her she wouldn’t be going out like that before she burst out laughing. Him telling her what she could and couldn’t wear? It was hilarious in her mind. She didn’t know he had a sense of humor. That was a surprise. “You had me there for a second, I’m not gonna lie..,”

honeybee-writes:
Jackson tried to give a reassuring smile, he could understand nerves, he was a little nervous himself, going against what his partner had advised. But he was certain it would come to fruition. “It’s alright” he smiled, he wanted for her to trust him, if she didn’t then all of this would be for nothing. He didn’t judge her line of work, well the slightly illegal part he did, but he understood that people found themselves in jobs and situations, or maybe she enjoyed it, that was none of his business. The illegal part however was his business, it’s why he’d offered her immunity to be the informant, the force needed one if they were going to get on top of things and get people behind bars. “Not if you don’t want anyone to, here-” he reached into his bag and pulled out a new phone “so you can contact me, I’ve already put my number in it, you can call me anytime, or text, whichever you prefer. I’ll try to answer as soon as I can” he hoped she would be happy with that arrangement. Her quip about the coffee made him laugh “You’re right, if I’m honest I’m not a huge coffee drinker, but I’m about to do a night shift and need the caffeine to get me through. I can’t stand the sugar in those energy drinks so this is the lesser of two evils I guess” he shrugged. “Yes of course, You’ll get paid, and then a bonus for a lack of better word if the information you give us works in our favour.”
Tumblr media
He was trying to reassure her, she could tell. Izzy knew men like that. The ones with the hero complex that thought she was this poor innocent girl that needed them to be the big strong man to save her. It was laughable. If they really knew what she was capable of they wouldn’t think that, but the innocent doe-eyed act sold better. She was in charge but had to make them think that they were. A powerplay is what it was. She grimaced, shaking her head.   “I don’t want anyone to follow me. It puts me on edge.” Izzy looked at the phone skeptically, making a mental note to turn off the tracking just in case he would be using it to track her movements. “Thank you. I appreciate it.” She didn’t, but he didn’t have to know that. She’d have to use this phone, make him think she was beginning to trust him. “You just need to tough it out. You’ll get used to it.” Sugar and caffeine both were things she used to survive her long days and nights of work. “Okay. Good. I need to pay my rent soon anyways.” She’d paid last week, but she could always use money for her mother’s treatments.

When her neighbour had invited her over for drinks she definitely hadn’t expected for what was to come. He told her he needed to ask her for a favor and she thought he meant something along the lines of her watering his plants for him, but clearly this went above and beyond that. “So let me get this straight, you want me to come with you to your movie star ex girlfriend’s wedding? Me? And I should pretend to be your girlfriend? Don’t you have any famous friends that could do that? You know someone that can actually act? I’m in nursing school not some acting academy.”  She really didn’t understand why he was asking her, she had no idea how the celebrity world worked and she didn’t think she wanted to know.

honeybee-writes:
Jackson had wanted to be a cop ever since he was old enough to know what one was. His father was a cop, he was deputy head of the force, and if everything went according to plan, he might be the head soon enough. Jax wanted to be like his dad, his dad was so wise, and strong, and had such a strong moral compass. He put away the bad guys, kept people safe. Thats what Jax wanted to do, help the people that needed it and get the bad guys off the street. He worked hard, despite what some people in his unit said. ‘Wonder Boy’ was said behind his back and a lot of people thought the only reason Jax got to where he was today was because of his father. He needed to prove them wrong, which is why he had a tendency to throw himself into things, put in more than the required amount of effort.
He’d been told that it was a pointless effort trying to get information on one of the most notorious mafias in the city, but there had to be some way in, surely. Jax had been tracking certain people for a while, keeping notes and watching for communication. So when he’d found Izzy as she was doing her ‘job’ he brought her in, she was the key. It would work out, right? Despite his partners dismissal of the idea, when Jax got the text he agreed to meet her without much hesitation. The diner chosen seemed fairly innocent, he’d done a quick background check on the location and nothing too out of the ordinary had popped up. He’d grabbed a coffee before sliding into the booth opposite her, hating having empty hands, he always had to be holding or fiddling something, it used to drive his mother crazy. “Hello I guess” he said, grabbing the sugar pot and stirring in one spoon to his coffee. “Your safety is the most important thing, you don’t need to worry about that. You’re no help to me if you’re in hospital either. We’ll take all the necessary precautions, and if you think someone is catching on and need to get out of town for a bit we can have a secure location for you within hours.” he took a sip of the coffee and tried not to grimace, this was shit. “You’d be safe, as long as you help us with what we need”
Tumblr media
She hadn’t realised that she had jumped the gun instead of greeting him. “Sorry. I’m just nervous I guess.” She wasn’t, but she pretty good at playing the damsel in distress, that’s what all men liked. They felt like the big man protecting her or trying to take care of her. It got her out of every parking ticket and she knew that as a cop she could bank on his hero complex. Most of them had it. Thinking that what they were doing was actually going to change things, make the world a better place or whatever.  The cops couldn’t fix this city and with time their idealism died down. She saw it happen often enough. Her boss had done his research on Jackson, he was still in the idealistic stage of the job it seemed. How long would that last, she wondered? “I’m no help to you from the hospital? Wow, thanks. That’s reassuring.” She scoffed, taking a gulp of her coffee. “Will there be someone following me? Because I don’t agree to that.” Izzy wasn’t the criminal here and she’d get him his information her way, on her terms. She did like the fact that she had a way out, to lay low if one of the other mafia families or gangs found out about their little ploy. Unable to stop herself she had to tease him when she saw him struggling with the coffee that was put in front of him. “How do I know you can help me if you can’t even drink Joyce’s coffee without making a face? Don’t tell me you want to add milk to this?” The owner of the dinner made the coffee strong on purpose, having drank it for years Izzy was used to it now.  “Is there anything else I’m getting out of this? How does this work? Do I get paid?” The police had loads of money, they could spare some if she got them inside info.

Diner meeting | Izzy & Jax
Looking back to the way she had grown up, where she ended up it wasn’t surprising. Her mother got pregnant when she was sixteen and Izzy had never even met her father, still a teenager himself he wasn’t ready to step up and be a father. It’s always just been the two of them. She’s been exposed to drugs and saw various crimes happen right in front of her eyes due to the neighbourhood they lived in, her mother too poor to be able to afford a better, a safer, place. They were barely scraping by, but they survived and that’s what mattered. Until her mother got diagnosed with cancer few years ago. Caught early by the doctors they were optimistic, but instead of getting better her mom got worse over the years. With that came the medical bills. As an 18 year old with work experience as a waitress she wouldn’t gotten the kind of money she needed to provide for her mother and herself. So she looked elsewhere. A guy who knew a guy that knew another guy recommended her and she started working for an infamous mafia family. Working her way up she was paid quite well as an escort, while her clients thought they were paying her for sex she was actually getting information out of them and using the camera set up to get blackmail pictures her boss could use for his advantage. Izzy was aware that what she was doing wasn’t technically legal, but she did what she had to do to get by and wasn’t ashamed about it.
Doing what she did, meeting up with strange men at various locations she ran into cops from time to time. Recently however there’s been one cop that stuck out. Jackson Hayes. They’d always let her go with a warning before, but he decided to bring her in to the station, telling her she’d get immunity if she was willing to be an informant for him. Now, Izzy wasn’t stupid, she knew that this deal was beneficial to her, but she was no snitch either. She told him she’d have to think about it and went straight to her boss, knowing he probably already heard that she was picked up. They devised a plan. Have her agree to being an informant, but feed him wrong information. Information about the other gangs or crime families causing trouble for them. The police would be satisified because they were getting criminals off the street and it was good for her boss because they could swoop in and cash out. Plus, they would know if the cops were closing in on them. Which is why she texted the number on the business card he gave her, setting up a meeting at a diner close to her apartment. She ordered a coffee while she waited for him to come in. When he sat down she decided not to beat around the bush. “Before I decide to take your offer I need to know that you can guarantee my safety. Snitches get stitches and I’m not a fan of hospitals.”

Mia had no trouble fitting right in with everyone that Nate introduced her to all of his and Danny’s friends form college and their girlfriends. She flashed them her dimpled smile and made easily directed conversations and spoke with them as if she had known them for just as long as Nate had. She didn’t realize that Nate had meant for this to be a date, or well for her to see him as a person that she could potentially date. She had given up hope on there being more with Nate a long time ago, so she was trying to be a good friend by helping him out. Though she had fun with Nate at the reception, dancing with him and easily fitting into his side as they spoke with his friends and laughed with every joke that was exchanged.”Hmm?” she said, looking over at Nate as he lead her out, leaving at the end of the night. “I did!” Mia answered and nodded with a smile, it had been the truth. She had genuinely had a great time meeting all of Nate’s friends and getting to know them all. “You keeping tabs on me, Nate?” she asked playfully and elbowed his side. “You heard right, though. We got to talking, and we have pretty similar taste,” she told him with a laugh. “So, I asked her if she’d want to go shopping sometimes and she said yes. I got her number, think I could even get a date,” she joked. @lidiacifuentes

If he was being honest, he did not have any doubts about her fitting in well with his friends, but he had been surprised just how well she did fit in. It was like she had been part of their group for ages when she had just met most of these people that day. None of them had a bad word to say about her and he knew they wouldn’t be the type to hold back if they hadn’t liked her so that was a good sign. They had a great time throughout the whole wedding, dancing and laughing with each other. Before this he had been unsure about this working out, realistically, but now he could see it. They just fit. And he knew that Danny would be angry, but he didn’t see Mia as just any girl. He knew she was special.  He had admitted to himself that he liked her by now, but he had yet to tell her. Nate thought that bringing her as his date would be a good indication for her, but he didn’t know how wrong he was about that. “She told me actually. Had to know if she approved of you, after all. Remember how she told me I couldn’t just bring any girl to her wedding because she’d be in the pictures forever?  Said she never liked any girl I was dating, but that she liked you. Hey there’s no need to get violent with me. ” Nate laughed, he didn’t even notice the slip up. He didn’t clear things up with the bride either, knowing that if things went his way they would be dating soon. The concept of the two of them dating didn’t seem foreign to him, even if dating in general didn’t sound appealing to him. When it came to Mia that changed. Suddenly it was something he did see himself wanting. “A date? What date?” He hadn’t fully been paying attention, but those words brought him back to reality. Did someone ask her out? When she came as his date? He would not let that happen. Okay he failed playing it cool there.
