MAX.
TRAINEE MISSION 012 : project origin 2 behind the scenes ft. @lgcxmax
the sudden shout made him snap his gaze up from the sheet of lyrics he was currently reading, attempting to get a head-start on memorizing the songs before he’d get down to tackle the lines he had during the rest of the musical. a smile automatically widened over his lips though when he saw wren, hand immediately reaching out to gently pat her head with a warm gaze. “hey there! oh- yeah me neither though actually,” he admits with a laugh, not sure how he managed to score himself a main role but amazingly glad that he did.
“it definitely feels like they’re looking for us to go above and beyond our comfort zone for this one. you got a minor part, right? don’t I recall you saying you’d be happy to even make it into the ensemble?” with a brow raised he couldn’t help but feel proud of the younger female. “I’m definitely excited though, what about you?”
wren would have been shocked if max had not gotten a main role. he was super talented and in her opinion, overdue for a chance to really shine. “yeah! what’s your character like? i didn’t really get to read much yet.” the whirlwind had been a little overwhelming, so she had only been able to really focus on her own character and preparation she needed to do.
she nodded, “i did--which is really exciting. i was worried about my audition--i’m not really much of an actor and i haven’t been here the longest. i’m hoping it goes smoothly and i don’t kill the vibe, so to speak. i’m a big fan of musicals so i want to make sure the one i’m in is good--you know?” she explained. she found it easy to be honest with max. he had a spirit in him that was comforting and welcoming to her. “i just hope i can must up what i need to. it’s a bit daunting, the whole production, isn’t it?”

TRAINEE MISSION 012 : project origin 2 behind the scenes ft. @lgcxmax
wren was excited!! she not only made it through the auditions--but actually had a role! it was minor, sure, but she had lines and wasn’t stuck in the ensemble this time. she really enjoyed theater and learning more about acting. part of her was considering maybe the acting path could be her calling--but she was too nervous to be sure. she was also glad to see familiar friendly faces in her part of the play. she was finally starting to feel a part of the lgc trainee community, making friends and connections--while gaining skills!
“max!!” she cheered when she saw the older trainee in the pattern b practice room. “i can’t believe you got a major role!” she knew that max was talented in rapping, dancing, and a great performer, but had no idea he could act to. “how are you feeling about it? are you excited?” she asked, curious how he was feeling after doing so much towards being an idol, then switching to a musical acting role.

part of your (project origin) world.
TRAINEE MISSION 012 : project origin audition solo COUNT : 563 words
wren really really really (+ one more really to show how badly) wanted to be in a musical! it was some of her favorite things, singing and dancing--sure the acting and performing scared her to bits--and she loved musicals! she knew the competition was tough, but she really put her full force into preparing her cover of part of your world. she even included the spoken prelude, to showcase some of the acting practice she had been given recently. she focused on being expressive with her facial expression and voice, trying to emulate the real life musical actors she admired so much. it was a lot to juggle, but she hoped that throwing as much as she could onto the metaphorical dart board, meant something would stick with the casting agents.
once prompted to explain her persona and ideal character, she began explaining, “i would want my character to have a power related to nature of some kind. my ideal public persona is something close to my own personality, mostly authentic but a bit more polished--if that makes sense.” she began to explain, slightly nervous as she pitched her idea. this was the first time, as a trainee, that anyone had ever asked her opinion on the kind of personality she wanted to have as an public figure. it was a little daunting...she wanted to give a good pitch that would make whoever was making decisions on this new play give her audition a second look. she knew her skills didn’t match her other trainees auditioning, but if she came up with a good enough concept maybe she would get an actual role. “nature has always been very appealing to me, so i want my character to be able to control plants--specifically grow them but it could be a good plot device as well if something happened to my character that caused all the life to be drained around her...but that’s just an idea, you guys are the writers afterall!” she said, adding a shy laugh.
“i want to be the kind of character that one finds hiding out somewhere, but when called to it, helps for the greater good. sort of skeptical of the world at first, because they have been in hiding, but curious and ready to explore. sort of like the little mermaid in personality. hence my choice of song.” she said with a smile.  when told of the prompt, she had watched sky high to try to get some ideas for powers she could have and was reminded of how much she loved the plant girl--layla--when she was younger. she knew that had to be the basis of her chosen power, but decided that the little mermaid may be more recognizable to the korean crowd. maybe she would bring about a sky high renaissance in korea with her character.  “my role could be sort of a diamond in the rough. right now i’m not very experienced, but as i continue to grow and develop, i know i can be a great artist and asset to any team. i want to grow into something truly beautiful and worthy of praise--like a seedling, i’m bursting with potential!” she ended confidently, trying to show enthusiasm for this role. she thanked those present for their time with a polite bow and walked out of the room, as realistically optimistic as she could be.

TAEHA.
╭  ✿ VICTORY SCREECH ! ╯
@lgcxwren / musical acting workshop
As a musical mega fan, Taeha had been anticipating the first workshop of the musical training camp since it had been announced. She could still remember her first foray into the world of musical theater. Even if only for her elementary school’s showcase on nutrition, portraying a ‘happy orange’ was truly a shining moment in her acting career ( and most likely where her love of fruits packed with vitamin C began ).
But her childhood experience could never have prepared her for what she was going to endure in musical singing techniques. Taeha’s always been one to have an odd set of vocal warm up exercises, spending the few minutes between vocal lessons going ma! ma! ma! However, their rather… eclectic musical coach had surpassed her in every way. After a quick introduction, the room was filled with lip trills to the tune of ’dumb litty.’ And as if that wasn’t funny enough, Taeha just about lost it at the mention of turning the class into a zoo.
The ridiculous antics at the front of the room have her holding back giggles, looking over at wren to mimic the coach. “Pssst,” she whispers, giving the younger trainees arm a subtle nudge. “BRRRRRR!” she trumpets ( somewhat quietly ), crossing her eyes and making an elephant trunk with her arm.
wren liked musicals and really liked the idea of being in a musical (in theory) but was still for the most part completely inept at acting. so, the next few weeks were not great for her confidence--but she was trying! really, properly, trying to be as good as she could. she didn’t have her hopes set high for the upcoming audition, but she was still going to give all she could. who knew, maybe things would turn out well.
she was glad taeha, who was quickly becoming one of her favorite trainees to practice with because god--the girl just knew exactly how to crack wren up. trying to pay attention to the vocal warmups guided by the day’s instructor, she thought it was a little silly. a little silly turned into hilarious as she watched taeha expertly mimic an elephant, causing wren to cover her mouth to stop herself from disrupting the class with her laughter. once she got a hold of herself, the teacher began making a high pitched buzzing noise. wren took this as an opportunity to get taeha’s attention. she put her hands at her sides and made tiny little wing flaps and pretended to fly around, giggling as she did so.

JAEKYUNG.
you belong with me.
jaekyung knew she should be grateful for the project legacy had pulled her in instead of going back to a regular training schedule but with the announcement of a musical production she couldn’t help but resent the fact that others would get to do what she loved the most while she was stuck forcing herself through language classes that brought her to the edge of her own sanity.
she had never been a studious type after all. nor was she proficient with languages.
but instead of being ungrateful and lashing out with an attitude like the drama queen within her wanted to, she sucked it up and kept going, deciding to enjoy the musical workshops she was allowed to attend and using the classes to help out less fortunate souls that would very likely die to trade places with her while at the same time refreshing her own knowledge.
“of course, baby. I got you,” she reassures wren thus, hugging the younger girl to her side and squishing their cheeks together for a moment. “characterization is more about getting a character down pat and adjusting your acting to them without it seeming staged or unnatural. we can choose existing characters and analyze how we would portray them and what all of that would entail or we can try to think of our own. but sticking with existing ones is definitely easier.”
“hmm...ok, that makes sense...” she nodded. she knew nothing about acting, but was glad that jaekyung seemed to know what she was doing. wren was glad to have picked her. “we’ll do an existing one then? what could we do...” she tapped her chin, trying to think of some iconic characters that they would both know and could emulate. “ooh! do you like disney movies? maybe we could some one of the princesses?” wren figured most people have seen some of those princess movies--they were staples of her chlidhood--so the characters should be recognizable (if they did it right). “i always liked mulan growing up--maybe we could do the scene where the ladies are trying to make her up and she’s not into it?” she suggested, and continued, trying to map this out aloud. “one of us can be mulan and the other can be the lady...do you have a preference?”

TRAINEE MISSION 012 : characterization workshop w. @lgcjaekyung
was wren excited to possibly be in a musical? yes. was wren excited that for the next two months she was going to have to be subjected to workshop after workshop--no. she enjoyed musicals, but knew acting was far from her best skill. she had recently been forced given the opportunity to really practice and learn about acting...but it was Not what she wanted to do with her life. she wanted to write, produce, and sing. but, being a trainee, she didn’t get to do what she wanted all of the time.
when the workshop’s coach finally broke them off to work in pairs, wren knew exactly she was going to run towards. “jaekyung-unnie!” she said, smiling as she went towards the other girl. ever since the start of future dreams 6 she hadn’t been able to see one of her favorite people at legacy in months. “would you want to pair up?” she asked, trying her best to hide her hope that the other wasn’t already promised to another trainee. “...and do you know what we’re supposed to be preparing because i am...confused” wren had listened, really listened, and remember something about the importance of sinking into characters. “we’re supposed to pick a character--each right? from different movies or tv shows...and then see how they would interact? did i hear the teacher right?”

CHERRY.
my enemy haunts me everywhere
in her class she’d never been the smartest, perhaps not the dumbest, but most definitely not the smartest. but it was one thing not being the smartest in your class, this was people around your age, another thing was having your three year younger dormmate be better at studying than you and most definitely smarter than you. cherry was used to being the dumbest, but among people her age, but here people were, surpassing cherry in smartness quicker than cherry could blink. it was weird, but then again, cherry had always been used to being a tad dumb, so it didn’t bother her too much, besides, if she was dumb, it would make everyone else feel smarter, so it had it’s positives.
“wren… you don’t know my brain, there’s barely anything in it and i already think it’s about to be full” she looks up as she tries knocking on her head, not a lot of sound coming from that. “wren… i don’t think i can name a single haru song to be honest… birthday wish? is that one?” she sighs, she barely even knows of haru, barely even knew haru was under legacy.
wren looked at cherry, dumbshocked. if wren was honest, she was mostly a blazing and crystallis stan before entering lgc. but she at least knew of haru and dbsd (and lgc’s other more recent groups) from just absorbing kpop content while at home. plenty of her friends had been obsessed with the boy groups. “really unni?” she said shocked, “my house? chained up? those don’t ring any bells?” she offered, trying to bring back anything that might spark cherry’s knowledge. “my friends in middle school were obsessed with really really when it came out.” she mimicked the dance as she sang the first lines of the iconic chorus, “they made me learn the dance with them.” she laughed, face turning red as she was slightly embarrassed at remembering her younger years.
“ok...how about we grab some snacks, and go through some old music videos? get to know them before trying to cram timelines into our brains?”

MAX.
Her shocked expression has Max grin at her in a brotherly fond way before her added comment has him exhale a laugh as he leans forward onto the desk, palms flat on the surface. He uses the leverage to clap onto the surface one more time to move on with a short “okay” added on. He doesn’t take offense in Wren’s comment at all. The show was weird, which was exactly what made it outstanding- or so he had been told by people when presenting his idea to his friends.
“Lets get to working! 30 Minutes start now, timer go!” Pointing straight at the camera he flashes a genuine even if a tad bit awkward smile before grabbing his own pen and getting to work on it while keeping a look at all the keywords they had to include for extra bonus points.
Focused on his task the male writes away, catching Wren’s gaze out of the corner of his eyes and darting his eyes over quickly once before turning to look at her properly. “You good? Wanna work together after all?”
still slightly confused, but comforted slightly they had a thirty minutes to come up with something, wren got to work writing. more like pretending to write, as she was still completely lost with how to incorporate some of the keywords. how in the world was she supposed to work in elephant and computing into the same apology letter--and make it all about travel? the concept of the show was a bit weird to her, but not in a bad way! she didn’t expect this kind of weird from max (who seemed fairly normal and sane from wren’s perspective), but she kind of respected it.
even if she did respect, she was still lost. at max’s proposition, she still wanted to be stubborn and do her own work, but this was harder than it looked. “maybe...maybe we can share some of what we have so far? get inspiration from each other?” she offered. “what do you have?”

wren smiled having her idea supported and built upon by taeha. she nodded along as taeha went wild with it, giggling as the other crumbled to the ground. “no, no--that’s perfect!” she encouraged, ignoring any odd looks from the others. “then i,” she said, getting on her knees with a dark green wig on and lifting her hands up to pretend they waved in the wind, as if she was a tall grass. her movements quickly got more rapid and haphazard (as if the storm was pulling at her roots. wren put on a dramatic, grief striken expression and cried “no no no!!! my cactus best friend” she leaned down where taeha had crumbled/died, crying into the ground. then she shot up, crying out to the sky “the cruelty of nature, why?!?!” and continued to cry.
once she thought she had fake cried her heart out, she shot up with a normal expression, “how about that?”
wren hummed in agreement to taeha’s ideas, those would be good. though, she pointed to one on the right, “i think wax museum sounds cool--make it creepy, like the figures coming alive.” she stood still, imitating a still wax figure, that was slowing coming alive through moving her arms and neck. “kinda like night at the museum?” she wasn’t sure if a hallmark of her childhood had made it across the ocean to korea, but she hoped it had.
confusion was clear on wren’s face as they were directed to the terrarium label--how in the world were they supposed to act while being still. she walked to the prop bin, shuffling through some props before finding a couple brightly colored wigs, her eyes lit up when she found her idea. “we could be like...an open terrarium going through a storm? sort of like if someone left it outside during a hurricane?” she offered, but quickly retreated, “unless you have a better idea.” acting was not her forte, so her confidence was not at its peak at this workshop.

CHERRY.
my enemy haunts me everywhere
she’d been told those stories from her friends quite often, that a lot of successful people did quite well while still being drop-outs, like bill gates and mark zuckerberg. it wouldn’t be the end of the world if she didn’t have high enough grades or if she got so tired out she couldn’t handle school anymore, but it was a weird thing to tell cherry, because everyone knew she wasn’t no bill gates nor mark zuckerberg, if she dropped out she would be lucky to work in a café or something. yes very well cherry was quite tired of school stuff, but she didn’t have much of a choice, did she drop out of university, it wasn’t sure what the future would bring, and the chance of something negative was big.
then of course, she became a trainee at legacy, and it had it’s positives and negatives. suddenly the blonde was occupied with more than just school, but now, school was more of a plan b, though cherry wasn’t really sure yet what plan a was. she was a trainee, but unaware of if she wanted to be an actress, model or idol, it was an answer she didn’t have yet. being a trainee was hard, but not in the same way as being a student, and cherry wouldn’t complain about being a trainee because it wasn’t like being a student, but perhaps soon she’d start complaining.
somehow though cherry was older, it felt like the motivation to keep going came from wren, something in cherry’s mind told her that wren was probably a better student than herself. “being a trainee at legacy… i can confidently say i would’ve never guessed they would make us do this” she sighs slightly. “what if my brain ends up exploding from all this studying…?”.
at wren’s age, being a student was all she had ever really been. since she was six years old into the present, the majority of her life has been spent jumping from one class, one school to the next. so, this assignment wasn’t completely out of the norm for her. wren rolled her eyes with a smile, “it’ll take more than haru’s discography to make your brain explode, i promise.” she reassured the other.
she grabbed her notebook and flipped to the page that had all of the timelines of their senior artists’ major releases, and held it up so the side with haru’s was facing towards her and away from cherry. “speaking of...name one title song from haru-sunbaenim that was released in 2015!” that year had a couple of their most notable releases, so wren was sure that cherry could come up with one. to add some encouragement, she added, “if you get it right, i’ll...buy your snack!”
