epic aro sculpture i did for class

the heart is made out of plastic bags wrapped with tape, so it's squishy ^_^ and the knife is qtips hot glued together. the knife is also removable!

The one bizarre thing to me about textiles is that warp-weighted weaving is at least 6500 years old, but our oldest knitted artifacts are only ~1000 years old, and crochet 200 years old. Even though you need less equipment to knit (two sticks) or crochet (one hook) compared to warp-weighted weaving (frame, loom weights, batting, heddles). Why the big gaps between these inventions? And why did each one appear and spread when it did?

My roommate got their dream job several states away, and I'm very happy for them, but it means I've got to find new housing before the end of May. I've had very short notice, so I haven't had time to save money for moving costs. Plus, my car failed inspection today, and parts+labor will be $900 plus tax (and that's with me being smart and buying my own parts and taking them to a locally owned mechanic to install, rather than getting it fixed by a chain that wants to charge me $350 more).

In the area where I'll be moving, because I've been trying to move there for literal years so I'm finally biting the bullet, my salary is equal to the amount you have to be at or under in order to qualify for single-occupant low-income housing. 🙃 so in addition to needing car repairs, a moving van, gas for multiple 4-hour drives, rent, deposits, and utility startup fees, I need money to just plain feed myself and pay my pharmacy copays for my many medicines for my many chronic issues while I recover from this financial hurdle.
