Ranma 1/2
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media

Akane is proud of her boyfriend and how handsome he is, but she would literally never tell Ranma that to his face.

Jp fan community on twt, or just Asian fan community in general, are just that good in tagging contents in the sense of character pairings
Something we're all should aspire to be. If the self-insert writers here would just decide on a single tag that can be blocked, my life would be easier

I'm.. sort of.. officially joining jjk fandom... (Maybe) Bad timing.. I know.
I'm currently rereading everything from the start... Paying more attention to everything. I caught myself wanting to buy the two volumes of Gojo's past and volume 0.
Hidden inventory was the arc I enjoyed the most. The prequel feels more emotional somehow.
As for favorite characters... Yes. Gojo. But not bc of his appearance or his god-like nature... But the fact that he holds unlimited strength yet he can't do (almost) anything. He bears some hidden weaknesses.
That and also... His discourse of not being a teacher like yet he cares for his students and does his job well. That's compelling to me on a personal level.
He has somehow no problem admitting the possibility of being overpowered by his students... Despite his ego, ofc.
Fushiguro is my fav among the students.
Well... I'll keep reading...

Okay. I have to admit that in some chapters when Yurako wasn't introduced as herself and there was this mystery around why she looked like Sana and if she was Sana, the plot was pulling the same resurrection move.
But. After her introduction as a different person and now them being twins... It's really different from Inuyasha.
Kagome and Kykyo's relationship was one of reincarnation.
Now Sana, here motives to search her own death, the way they were treated by the clan, Yurako's motives and goals... It's quite different... And really interesting.
There was a sort of love triangle but Rumiko deconstructed it which I'm glad about.
But let's say there are similarities. It's Rumiko. It's her style and I see no need to try to make things look different to make them enjoyable.
It's so annoying to see arrogant reviews about "Mao copying Inuyasha". DAMN NO! 😓
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The dynamic is new, the setting is new. And again, there is no "rebirth of Kikyo" and no "love triangle" 😇 It's your right to feel "meh" about a story. But please be fair to the creator and to the story before you actually read it. The only reused element is "time travelling" which is commonly found in different manga.

When I saw it, I thought about this.
Tumblr media
HxH influence.
I suddenly remembered about Yuki Tsukumo - dullahan (headless horseman) theory.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
here is translation of the original post:
«Obviously, Yuki has a head, but still, she has two other main traits of dullahan, evil spirit from irish mythology: black horse (in her case it's motocycle) and a whip made from a human's spine.
Notable that it's impossible to stop dullahan with any obstacle, and following him is more trouble than he's worth. Dullahan was regarded as a harbinger of death: everyone, who he stops his horse in front of and who's name he calls out, is going to die.»
Well, she’s obviously not literally a dullahan (and has a head), but I still see some similarities in their designs: motocycle as a horse, plus that creature that looks like human spine. I wouldn’t be surprised if Gege took some inspiration from Irish mythology while creating her character. Unfortunately, I don’t know a lot of details about this myth, so I can’t theorise what abilities she might have, if Gege took from this myth more the just design details.

Hi! Just wondering if you’ve watched this video or not. Kinda want to know your thoughts that’s all cause it actually explained lots of questions I previously had. The title is “This video will change how you see Eren” on YT. Have a good day btw!
Hi anon!
Sorry that I took me so many time to answer this. I have found this just days ago but I'm having troubles to write or even think about SnK since its end.
Well, I searched and watched the video. It was... a very long recapitulation of Eren's character through the story. I feel like it's title is quite grandiloquent if applied to someone who read the story and interpreted Eren's character in the right way. Maybe it's useful for someone who didn't play attention or missed a lot of him while following the manga: I'm talking about those who never liked his true persona... The weak one and liked that Chad facade.
There are some things I don't agree such as Eren's goals changed throughout the last arc and other details I don't remember anymore. To me it's more like Eren lost his way and just walked towards the ending. He didn't change any goal. In the end, there was no further purpose more than to do it. I mean the rumbling as a deed became the final goal and it was more Armin and other trying to give a meaning to Eren's deeds. But yeah. This was specifically useful for Chadren followers and as a recapitulation for those who found the final arc messy for example. I too feel like I still couldn't sort some things after the final chapter.
Have a nice day! And thanks for the ask! 😊

A place that brings me joy (2)
Tumblr media
And more Sakura...
Tumblr media
Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles and Kobato (CLAMP). Both tragic love stories. Kobato made me cry for a whole week. It's a simple story but it retrieves some of that old feeling that resembles Sakura. Characters with problems and broken hearts... I really liked it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And this... I.. emmm... I don't know how to explain it. SNK
The manga ended in April and honestly.... I want to start riot. I'm still mad at the ending yet I keep buying the manga bc of (it should be obvious by this time) Levi and all the arcs before the last one. Argghhh.
I'm ready to tear the last eight pages out of the last volume. 🔪🔪

A place that brings me joy... (1)
My bookcase...
Tumblr media
Some things there remind me of my childhood and teenagehood, everything is a reminder that I was happy.
Tumblr media
Behind those figures of Levi, there's one, maybe the only manga whose plot has no magic at all. Marmalade boy. Although I read it for the first time when I was 17 and it's a classical shoujo from the 80es with love triangles and all that, I have the best memories about it. Then, there's a manga I still didn't read: Gate 7, I just know I bought it because it's CLAMP's work and I love them since I was 8 years old.
Tumblr media
Jane Austen, more Clamp in English and some reminders I liked Naruto as teenager. I guess I was 14 when it started airing. I read the manga for a while and stopped after 2010.
Tumblr media
Rilke, Art and one manga I started to read not because of the story but the beautiful art: Witch hat atelier. More Clamp: Chobits. I'm not so fond of this story because of the "Ecchi" but the art and some love stories are good. I also started to buy HunterxHunter because... I want to suffer. I love Togashi since I was 12 but I don't think this manga will have an ending. However. I enjoyed Komugi and Meruem's story. Kurapika will be always my fav besides Killua and Hisoka... and Illumi... Well. They are great.
Small hint. I was huge fan of Inuyasha during my whole teenagehood. If it's not already clear:
Tumblr media
Side comment: Saori was some sort of female model for me. Long hair, princess-like dresses and that sight... Then.. more Chobits and off the record... I used to sew plushies as a hobby when I was 16. Atashi and Watashi are from that time.
Now there comes the most tragic shelf:
Tumblr media
CLAMP's Clover and MKR. I'm still missing the second part of MKR. I remember being still an 8 years old child watching MKR and having my first shock because of a sad death. I grew up watching series where girls are the knights rescuing a princess 😂 Feminism what?
Tokyo Babylon (CLAMP).. the only boy romance I read. Well. It's a very toxic romance and a tragedy. But I really liked it.
Then, there's Blood+. I remember my hype when I decided to buy the manga (it was my very first manga) and well... There's a long story. My mother hated everything about japanese culture. When I bought the manga she discovered it (It was one of the volumes of Adagio)... She yelled at me and went to my father to tell him that. I remember she was shocked because of the violence in the story... Yup. But the "damage" was already done since the series shocked me several times before that happened.
Tumblr media
I get that I liked these series because of the love story and its atmosphere... The plot being built over real history was incredible. The manga is average compared to the anime (that's actually something unique as manga is usually better than the anime). The prequel, Adagio, is my favorite part.
Who doesn't like FMA? I also grew up with it. Sadly, with the first anime version that is.... Trash. Sorry. But it's trash compared to the second version and the manga.
Tumblr media
More Levi and over there, my childhood love: Sakura. I blame this manga for teaching me to be (or try to be) a good person with good intentions and a pure heart. Let's say. Everything there happens bc of love and everyone has good intentions. Even in Love triangles. (Another reason to me to avoid stories with mean characters trying to fight over other's heart and so on.. Inuyasha was overwhelming to me as i suffered and cried over and over again about it). Now I can't deal with mean ppl.
Tumblr media
Yu Yu Hakusho.... Well. It's a great manga. My favorite shounen and yeah... Togashi's work. He knows how to make characters I'll end up liking. The romance is great in the end. Now I know it. And guess who was my fav?
Tumblr media
Yes. I bet I had a crush on him when I was 13. I won't make further comments on that.
