So I was born into a Christian family but I think Latter Day Saints or Aka Mormonism might be for me. I don’t know too much about it but I’ve heard that the religion is racists and the reason why I got interest in LDS is because I saw a video with a Mormon family in it. Please let me know how I should go about this journey and everything I need to know and do. Thanks
I am so sorry this took so long for a response.
First welcome. I know this can feel scary if you feel like there is judgement, or potential disconnect with those around you from your Christian up bringing.
First members of the church are Christian too,
We believe in God the Father, in His son Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.
We also believe that through Christ alone we are forgiven of sin.
We are Christians. So just because it is a different religion, you are not leaving Christianity. Although people may say you are and this is because of a lack of understanding. This is okay. You're okay.
The church is not racist, whilst some may try use specific individuals, or a past experience to justify this statement. This argument could be used for almost every Christian religion at some point, or in some locations. Individuals are not a belief.
As for beginning the journey of interest and learning
Here is a link https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/comeuntochrist/contact-us
On this link you can find your local church location, connect with missionaries who can either call, meet with you, take you to church (depending how the covid 19 situation is where you are located) and help you grow in understanding. There are also other resources too. This would be you best start, as it can help you locate someone close to you who respects you, and your journey and can support you along it.
My DMs are always open as well, as is the question box.
❤️❤️❤️

God will not force us to embrace his light. If we become comfortable with darkness, it is unlikely that our hearts will change. For change to take place we need to actively let the light in.

What a wonderful man. Yes I will miss his guidance and council, but I am comforted that Heavenly Father doesn’t leave us without leadership to guide us. We have the apostles and I’m excited for the next general conference in April, where we will be able to sustain our next Prophet and listen to the guidance and council that they all have for us. President Monson was an amazing Prophet and he has been called home.

Now I have a few words for single women. If you are just marking time waiting for a marriage prospect, stop waiting. You may never have the opportunity for a suitable marriage in this life, so stop waiting and start moving. Prepare yourself for life—even a single life—by education, experience, and planning. Don’t wait for happiness to be thrust upon you. Seek it out in service and learning. Make a life for yourself. And trust in the Lord.

If you don’t go to church because it’s full of hypocrites, remember the church is a hospital for the sinners and not a museum of saints

I also find it hard to sing such sunny, bouncy lyrics when so many of us suffer from emotional and mental illness … I pray we will not let these children suffer in silence.
