Freshkills Park, From Landfill to Park, Garbage informs Activity, Liwen Zhao,In the history, Freshkills park is a landfill site. Huge amount of garbage makes the topography today, meanwhile garbage reveals people’s life style during different time. With the ongoing development of the park, different elevation of topo informs different plantation and civil life.

Future Fresh kills park will host many kinds of social, cultural and recreational activities. The future tourist center will accomodate these people. By measuring the area the tourist center will serve and predicting the visitors volume, the height and FAR of the tourist center will be decided.

At the crossroad of Broadway & W 96 St, the entrance of the subway is in the middle of the street which seems inconvenient for pedestrians. What cause this? There's a lot of spaces like this along Broadway. Can we make some improvement about this?
