It's unfathomable, even more so when you realize this isn't the first time Israel has done this. She was a baby. The men were so obviously red crescent medics, and still, Israeli soldiers shot and killed them.
It wasn't a misfired bomb. It was guns. They knew what they were targeting.
Anyone who defends this, for whatever religion you believe in, even if you believe in nothing at all, I can only hope the afterlife brings you your deserved suffering on a platter. You're disgusting, vile creatures, who must've snuck onto the Earth because there is no way in nature that you are human. Die.
نَّا ِلِلَّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ
Save the children of Palestine. Protect the medics. Free Palestine. 🇵🇸

Hey everyone, this is Bisan from Gaza. I'm still alive but Hind is not. Do you remember Hind Rajab? This seven (7) years old child who was missed 12 days ago. Hind was in a car with five (5) family members and they were all killed - except Hind - by an Israeli bomb, and then she called the Ambulance, she asked them to rescue her. Two Ambulance men from the Red Crescent tried to do this but they were also missed. Now; today they were found killed. The body of Hind found killed, found murdered. It's just a new massacre added to the list of endlessly massacres committed by Israel against my people; Palestinians in Gaza right now.
No one holds Israel accountable until now. No one is doing anything. Hind was killed. Who is the next? I don't know, it might be any one of us, but I mean, it's a new, it's a new massacre - she is murdered. You all heard her story, you all heard her voice asking for help saying (Bisan speaks in Arabic first then translates to English the following) "take me with you, take me from here". She was between dead bodies for days, alone and no one could rescue her. We knew where she was, we knew that she was okay, we knew that she could contact the Red Crescent but no one rescued her.
-- Bisan on Instagram, 02.10.2024
There really is nothing left to say.

Y'all remember "cops aren't supposed to kill guilty people, either", right?
Palestinians who have done something wrong don't deserve to die beneath the rubble of their homes.
Palestinians who have done something wrong don't deserve to be shot with expanding bullets that cause massive tissue damage leading to amputation.
Palestinians who have done something wrong don't deserve to have their flesh burned away with white phosphorous.
Palestinians who have done something wrong don't deserve their fishing boats blown up.
Palestinians who have done something wrong don't deserve to see their husbands and fathers executed in front of them along evacuation routes.
Palestinians who have done something wrong don't deserve an anonymous phone call threatening to destroy their lives and families.
Palestinians who have done something wrong don't deserve to be detained for years without charges.
Palestinians who have done something wrong don't deserve to be tortured, starved, and sexually assaulted in prison.
Palestinians who have done something wrong don't deserve to be deprived of water.
Palestinians who have done something wrong don't deserve their olive trees to be uprooted while they look on.
Palestinians who have done something wrong don't deserve sixteen years of blockade.
Palestinians who have done something wrong don't deserve to be prevented from traveling for lifesaving medical care.
Palestinians who have done something wrong don't deserve this genocide.

Whenever people criticize exploitative companies I notice that they tend to target consumers as if everybody using those services always have a choice in the matter, but im willing to bet that a massive chunk of the population that shops at walmart, orders from amazon, subscribe to disney+, etc, are poor/rural people who cant afford any of the alternatives. And what exactly do you expect them to do?
Disney+ is the cheapest option for reliable entertainment for poor parents with kids. Netflix is the cheapest option for that for most others. They still deserve to watch TV when they cant afford a cable package (and yes, pirating still has barriers attached to it. For one, you need to be able to afford the computer, just for starters). Not everyone who has a streaming service subscription is a bootlicker or supports the disney corporation or thinks netflix has the most correct working conditions.
Amazon is the cheapest option for shipping, well... almost anything. And in a lot of places, its the only thing that can reliably get there at all within the month. And when a prime subscription comes with free shipping and a streaming service? That cuts out one major expense AND the expense from the first point, too. Folks still deserve to be able to order things when they cant afford to pay for shipping fees or when they can only afford the cheapest possible option for the item they need. Not everybody with a prime subscription or who orders the occasional thing off amazon wants to personally suck jeff bezos's dick or thinks warehouse workers deserve to be worked to death.
Walmart remains the cheapest possible option for most people in north america, especially in the cost of living crisis right now where groceries cost more than your rent. Not everybody who shops at walmart thinks the workers deserve to be exploited or that unions are bad or that driving out small businesses is a good thing
And im gonna be honest, every single "alternative" ive seen from people acting these ways is WAYYY more expensive and unreliable to poor and rural people than the things theyre telling us to stop using. You absolutely should support small businesses when you can but i usually dont have small business money. I can either buy a few little things to eat that will last me maybe a week or i can get enough for the month for the same amount at walmart, and thats not MY fault.
What exactly do you want us to do here

I feel like in the rush of “throw out etiquette who cares what fork you use or who gets introduced first” we actually lost a lot of social scripts that the younger generations are floundering without.

There is a heart wrenching video of a father who went to buy biscuits for his son only to return and find out his son and the man's wife had both been killed by an Israeli air strike. He is seen putting the pack of biscuits in his son's hand and saying "take it with you to heaven".
There is an indescribable pain to all of this, and I don't know what Israel thinks it's doing by ripping everyone's heart out like this if not to make the whole world resent the mere mention of it.
I don't think the question we should be asking at this point is "how do you justify this?" anymore, even if rhetorically. We need to understand that it is simply irrational to expect an occupying power that built itself on ethnic cleansing to provide any means of reasoning.
This is genocide, you don't debate genocide and you don't rationalise genocide.
I don't care what you do, but speaking about Palestine doesn't suffice anymore. Speak louder, force people to have uncomfortable conversations, call whoever the heck your representative is, go out to rallies if you can, push others to do the same - this is unlike anything we have seen.

A lot of people around me are having kids and every day it becomes more apparent that hitting your children to punish them is insane because literally everything can be a horrible punishment in their eyes if you frame it as such.
Like, one family makes their toddler sit on the stairs for three minutes when he hits his brother or whatever. The stairs are well lit and he can see his family the whole time, he’s just not allowed to get up and leave the stairs or the timer starts over. He fucking hates it just because it’s framed as a punishment.
Another family use a baseball cap. It’s just a plain blue cap with nothing on it. When their toddler needs discipline he gets a timeout on a chair and has to put the cap on. When they’re out and about he just has to wear the cap but it gets the same reaction. Nobody around them can tell he’s being punished because it’s in no way an embarrassing cap, but HE knows and just the threat of having to wear it is enough.
And there isn’t the same contempt afterwards I’ve seen with kids whose parents hit them. One time the kid swung a stick at my dog, his mother immediately made him sit on the stairs, he screamed but stayed put, then he came over to my dog and gently said “Sorry Ellie” and went back to playing like nothing happened, but this time without swinging sticks at the nearby animals.

Zootopia headcanons— Nick and Judy's kids
I’m not actually in the Zootopia fandom, but I saw a comic about this and now I can’t stop thinking about it.
See, foxes and rabbits aren’t closely related enough to create hybrids and, anyway, fox cubs are much larger than rabbit kittens, so Judy would probably be physically incapable of carrying a fabbit/rox to term. So they’d need to use donor sperm, which means that all Nick’s kids would be bunnies.
Imagine that…
Imagine just after the baby is born and Nick asks to hold her and the nurse picks her up, goes to hand her over to Nick and then just hesitates because they’re handing a newborn rabbit over to a fox and thay can’t let go of the feeling that this is wrong.
Imagine later on, when he’s chasing her around in the park, and he suddenly has to stop. His daughter asks him what’s wrong and he just says that he’s tired— because he can’t bring himself to explain that he just noticed the stares he’s getting, chasing a baby rabbit around the park, and now a nearby mum just pulled out a can of fox repellent, and he’s torn between going over there and chewing her out and packing up and leaving as quickly as possible.
Imagine that he chooses to chew her out and Judy finds out and asks him not to do that again because ‘you shouldn’t let them get to you’. Imagine that next time somebody sees Nick and his daughter playing and pointedly goes over to ask the little girl if she’s okay, Judy is with them. And she spends the next ten minutes yelling at the person. Oh, and it’s an elephant, so the entire park is just staring at this tiny rabbit telling off this huge elephant.
Imagine how much the kid would get teased when she first started school, with kids saying that she has a fox tail and asking if she ever gets worried that her Dad’ll eat her. Imagine Judy teaching her basic martial arts to defend herself and Nick pointing out that, while self defence is great, they don’t want their daughter getting expelled on the first day. So instead he teaches her how to see off her enemies with words (and also a few cons to try out on them that Judy gets annoyed about because “oh yeah, why get her expelled when we can get her arrested?”)
Imagine the kid growing up to be a important figure in the predator/prey rights movement, helping create Zootopia where nobody thinks twice about a prey animal being a cop or a predator working in a nursery.

Thomas O'Malley is and always has been the Best Disney Man because, although he is clearly attracted to and interested in Duchess throughout, it's never his primary motivation.
Sure, he's flirting with her when they first meet at the start, and she's clearly enjoying it (she's a sheltered pedigree cat, and a single mother with three kids— chances are it's been a while). But then when the kids show up and he realises that she's probably not looking for casual relationships at the moment, she graciously gives him a way out.
She makes it absolutely clear that she doesn't blame him for being put off by the kids, or expect anything from him. They're both adults, they both want different things, and he doesn't owe her. There is nothing wrong with his initial impulse to wish them all good luck on their travels and then go back to whatever he was doing before.
But he doesn't do that.
Instead we get the "you're not a cat, you're a rat" moment, followed by him rushing back with an offer to guide them to Paris.
Pretty everything else he does in the film moving forward is motivated purely by the fact that he couldn't live with himself if he left this nice but clearly out of their depth family stranded like that. It's entirely selfless.
Later on, we have the roof scene. They've been travelling together for a while (alright— pretty sure it's less than a day, but we're working with Disney Time here) and he's genuinely come to love and admire her. He makes another offer— this time he's willing to try for a more serious relationship, and be a father to her children.
She turns him down.
She loves him, he loves her, but she's not willing to give up Madame. She's rejecting him, again, for reasons that he can't really understand ("you're just her housepet!") after he just poured his heart out to her.
And I feel like, in most other Disney films, this would be the part where we have the 'protagonists argue before the climax' moment. Like, this is his cue to point out all that he's done for her, and for her to point out that she never asked for it, and for him to storm off in a huff and leave them to go the rest of the way alone, only returning at the climax to save them all dramatically.
But that never happens, because Abraham De Lacey Giuseppe Casey Thomas O'Malley is a perfect gentleman, thank you very much.
He never had any Nice Guy-level assumptions about 'earning' her love when he made that offer to escort her to Paris, and he's not going to back out of it just because she rejected him. He may not understand her reasons for doing so, but he understands that she is as disappointed by how things turned out as he is, and he's not going to make things worse for her.
And then, at the end, he fucking moves in with her.
He fully respects that she's not willing/able to sacrifice her relationship with Madame, and so decides to sacrifice his own life as a street cat (despite his suspicions about humans) in order to be with her. You can see at the end that he's still getting used to his new situation, but he's fully prepared to try and make it work for her.
Seriously, Best Disney Guy hands down.

God, the way paramedics in Gaza pull children out from under the rubble while people around them are repeatedly asking "is he alive? Is he alive?" but seconds later we hear a faint "no" followed by "okay keep going" because there's a new body coming... we simply cannot get used to this despite how many times we come across the same exact scene. Our humanity will always get in the way of Israel's relentless attempts to desensitise us.

the fact that Israel can precisely target ONE apartment in an entire residential block in BEIRUT to kill two hamas leaders, proves once again that they CHOSE to carpet-bomb Gaza and murder 31.000 Palestinians to "defend themselves" against Hamas. Israel CHOSE to kill civilians, they CHOSE to bomb every hospital, every school, every refugee camp, every residential block. israel does NOTHING to spare the lives of palestinians, they want to thin out the population of gaza so they'd be able to settle their citizens there.
this is a genocide it's an ethnical cleansing PLEASE WAKE UP don't stop talking about Palestine it is not a trend, people are still dying, Israel has no plan to stop if WE don't force it to, through public pressure and protesting and boycotting. it's the least we can do.

Suzanne collins wrote a trilogy where a main media propaganda strategy was to market a horrific act of violence as a love story to distract ppl and then it got adapted into a box office breaking movie and ppl made it all about the love triangle. so then since they didn’t get the point the first time Suzanne collins wrote a prequel story about the main dictator and she makes it so that you as a reader want it to be a genuine love story so badly even tho it’s so very clearly not and instead feels extremely unsettling to make her point even more meta which then gets adapted into another box office breaking film and now ppl are making romantic snowbaird tik toks. do u think she’s gonna write another book that’s somehow even more blatant or just give up and start executing ppl? hard to say but I wouldn’t blame her for the second one

One thing I'm really enjoying about Powerpuff Girls is their relationship with Professor Utonium. He's not a sidekick character or a character running tech support for them. He's just... their dad. He gets worried about them and frustrated with them. He tries his best to raise them right, and sometimes he makes mistakes. He doesn't always know the best way to connect with them (having never been a little girl himself), and while he may be a brilliant scientist, his hobby is his hobby and more often than not, he's doing it for himself and not for the implicit or explicit benefit of his girls.
But he's happy to make them food and take them on picnics and vacations and remind them when it's bedtime (even if they'll get up a few hours later to fight crime because crime never sleeps). He gives them big hugs and mediates their fights and frets over if he's being too soft or too harsh with them.
He's just their dad, but that's really the role they need him in most.

Hey! I’m gonna assume you guys like using Tumblr correct? What about AO3? TikTok? Or any other platform that fandom spaces thrive? Then you need to give a fuck about the Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA).
KOSA is a act currently being talked about in congress that is labeled as a act that prevents minors from seeing 18+ content. It being labeled as that seems okay and good, yes, but that’s not what this bill is about.
KOSA, if put in place, will make so the attorney general of each state gets to pick which platforms will be banned in their state. And this doesn’t been censorship of minors, this means censorship of everyone of ALL AGES.
“My attorney general wouldn’t ban this sites.” Yes, they might not. But don’t think about yourself right now. MILLIONS of people will be without spaces to escape too. Millions of people will be without access to websites that allows them to talk to people. Millions of queer people wouldn’t be allowed on to places they were originally welcomed.
“Okay? But they’re only trying to ban nsfw content?” And what do all republications see as nsfw? Queer people. Especially trans people.
KOSA is just another bill that will allow nation wide bans on topics such as sex, gender, sexuality, and more. This act does nothing more except erase queer people from online spaces, and further pushes the anti-trans beliefs (and genocide) circling our country right now.
Y’all need to give a shit about this bill like you should still be giving a shit about the RESTRICT ACT (which still hasn’t been turned down yet btw).
This act opens the door from any site such of tumblr and quotev to be banned, to YouTube if your AG doesn’t like it for ANY reason. And don’t forget, VPN’s can only do so much, and the government already wants to ban those.
What can you do? CALL YOUR FUCKING CONGRESS REPS. EMAIL THEM. I don’t give a shit, all I care about is this bill that doesn’t speak for the people getting blocked and not being put in place. Bills like this further push our nations descent into facism. And if there’s a way to prevent that, we better fucking do it.

It feels like Disney deliberately puts less passion and effort into their more progressive movies so that when they fall flat on their face at the box office, the company can be all
Well see there you go THAT’S why we don’t put black/trans/gay/disabled/etc people on screen because the world isn’t ready for it and the people don’t want it and we don’t make any money off it!
When in reality they are butchering stories, ignoring feedback, overworking and underpaying their employees, and straight up just don’t care about their craft anymore. But at the least they’ll put more thought into a movie like Ralph Breaks the Internet because it’s more of a money opportunity that’ll appeal to nostalgia and that’s all they need.
The live action little mermaid and the live action beauty and the beast and the live action lion king are UGLY. The renaissance movies are based greatly magic and that just can’t be done as well in live action. Or, it CAN, but not without extra work and TLC.
Idk it just feels like the studio and company will jump through so many unnecessary hoops to avoid making actual art that appeals to us and is what we want.
Which is ironic because THAT might be the best way to make their profit. I would sell at least three of my toes for a deaf Disney Princess or a gay Disney Prince or a revival of the Tinker Bell movies and more but nope let’s tell the same story we told forty years ago but this time with less whimsy and more celebrities.
