What is an RC Snubber?
The simplified resistor-capacitor snubber circuit is made up of a resistor and a capacitor connected in series. The resistor helps to absorb the energy from the voltage spikes, while the capacitor provides short-term storage for this energy. This way, the risk of a sudden change in electrical flow damages is lowered.

how is a ceramic capacitor charged?
When the capacitor is connected to a DC voltage source, the capacitor will be charged, so plate A and plate B have an equal amount of free electrons.
When the switch is closed, the power supply moves the free electrons from plate A to plate B through the circuit. When plate A loses electrons and plate B gains electrons, the polarity of plate A relative to plate B is positive. This charging process continues until the voltage created on the plate quickly reaches the voltage value of the voltage source Vs, but the two polarities are opposite to each other. When the capacitor is fully charged, there is no more current in the circuit.
Capacitors can block constant direct current. The fully charged capacitor is disconnected from the circuit. According to the leakage resistance of the capacitor, the charge can be stored in the capacitor for a long period of time. The charge on electrolytic capacitors generally leaks faster than other types of capacitors.
Capacitors are similar to batteries in that they also have two electrodes. Inside the capacitor, the two electrodes are connected to two metal plates separated by a dielectric. The dielectric can be air, paper, plastic, or any other non-conductive substance that prevents the two metal poles from contacting each other.
The metal plate on the capacitor connected to the negative electrode of the battery will absorb the electrons produced by the battery. The metal plate on the capacitor connected to the positive electrode of the battery will release electrons to the battery. After charging, the capacitor and the battery have the same voltage (if the battery voltage is 1.5 volts, the capacitor voltage is also 1.5 volts)
