So...You Want To Be A Part Of The TCC?

 I’ve started to notice a growth in both anti-TCC blogs and new TCC blogs so I thought I’d put together an informational guide for anyone new to the true crime scene- antis and hoes alike! 

1. The Inside “Jokes”

With every other community/fandom, there always has to be some inside jokes within them. The most prominent ones are mostly from the home videos Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold from the Columbine case such as, “What the hell are you doing to my sister’s  bike?!” or “No, you goddamn piece of punk ass shit! Do not touch that friggin’ kid!” or even, “Fucker should be shot,” (which is the only example not from the home videos). It’s important to know the source of these for any newcomers. If you’re an anti, then it won’t be as important, but if you want to binge the tapes, then go ahead. Another inside joke is Dave Cullen who wrote one of the most inaccurate books on Columbine. You’ll start to notice how much of an influence Columbine has had on the TCC as it’s one of the most documented cases in the tags. Also, a lot of girls think Eric Harris was fuckable. 

2. The Difference Between TCR and TCC

TCR is an acronym used for “True Crime Research.” Do you want to find information on cases without being bombarded with imagines? Then, the TCR tag is the one for you! This also goes hand-in-hand with “I can’t even read about (insert serial killer/mass shooter here) without getting a bunch of oneshots!!” Tumblr is a completely customizable experience. If you follow the right people in the TCC, you won’t have to deal with seeing imagines unless you go looking for them. 

3. The Differences Between Spree Killer/Serial Killer/Mass Shooter

This one mainly goes out to the antis. I see you guys making this mistake most of the time and here’s a little cheat sheet for you! <3 Aren’t I so nice? 

Serial Killer- A serial killer is typically a person who murders three or more people with the murders taking place over more than a month and including a significant period of time between them

Spree Killer- A spree killer is someone who kills two or more victims in a short time, in multiple locations

Mass Shooter- A mass shooter is the perpetrator of an incident involving multiple victims of firearms-related violence
