I want the inconspicuous mailman to go around delivering mail with little marks and codes that are only known in the darkest corners of the organised crime in this town.

And of course, he doesn't know what he's doing. His cheery little smile and his neat but clearly homemade uniform and the silly wax seals he puts on every letter he posts shows as such. He's the perfect informant. Never asks questions, never notices the slight shimmer of invisible ink or the scratches in the envelope, always delivers perfectly on time... Except...

One time someone sends him off with a letter marking his death. He's to be killed on arrival. He's been here too long, he must go before he knows too much. But he can see the black spot of ink on the side. The slightest crease of the corner. He knows who lives at that address.

And so he opens the letter in a quiet corner alone, making sure to leave no trace of his tampering as he reseals the letter. He knows EXACTLY what they're going to do to him.

A gust of wind carries the letter along the street into the hands of a leader of one of the rival gangs. A much stronger one. One who recognises the signs, and refuses to let Victor deliver the letter himself, despite his silent protests.

Someone dies in that house that day. It isn't Victor.

oh fuck yeah theres so much potential for victor's mob shit. sigh if you want it done right you should do it yourself.... hes a valuable asset to MULTIPLE people i'd assume but thats all he really is. an asset
