Note: Long time no post!! I got some of my energy back but phew it’s such a struggle with all the hormones haha. I get energy on and off, it’s literally like a switch sometimes. One second I feel like doing something and the next it’s like all I wanna do is stay in bed. 

Warnings: a bit of crack elements in some, Not proofread, if there’s any pronoun slips please tell me :) suggestive elements in some, added our new Sumeru friends that I’m comfortable writing for into the long list of lovable male characters. I’m loving Sumeru so far, specially the music.

Aether

Putting his hand out for you to hold. All the time.

His hand is always there for you no matter where you go. 

Just a stroll? He offers it to you with a pleasant smile. “Let’s go,”

When there’s a big step or just a big gap between stones or steps while the two of you are out adventuring, he’ll have it stretched out towards you. 

“Hold my hand, I don’t want you to fall,”

Sometimes will subconsciously and automatically grab your hand when he thinks you need it. 

“Watch out for that puddle,”

Even in quiet moments when the two of you are sat around the campfire, he loves to have his hand atop yours, swirling patterns atop it, making circles, tracing your knuckles. 

It’s a kind of reassurance for him, and you always feel like you can rely on him and have him to hold on to.

When he’s talking to someone in town, or wherever the two of you may be and he realizes that he doesn’t have your hand in his, his hand will linger, stretching out even while he’s talking, hovering towards your general direction until you notice and take hold of it. 

It might seem clingy, but really he just likes feeling how perfectly the two of you fit together.

Childe & the stomach window

“Y’know, I wouldn’t have thought that you would design an outfit like this.” He said, gesturing to the open area on his torso. “Do you have a thing for abs or something?”

You choked on your drink, desperately trying to recompose yourself. “Uh n-no.” You said, “Designs always need unique elements. The design team debated that part for…”

He stared at you, as you went on a rant about elements of design, and player preferences. One thing stood out in particular. You made a comment about how the stomach window was popular among fans, and how many players “simped” for him.

He interrupted your mini speech, “Never mind the player’s opinions. Is this something you find attractive?”

You stared at him, before speaking in a monotone voice. “Oh yes Childe I just find you so very attractive that I just want to take off your jacket and see the rest, and preferably stare at you for hours on end.”

“Oh really?” He asked, matching your blank face and tone. “I could show you right now.”

His gloved hand reached for his collar, but he was interrupted by a groan in your direction.

“We. Are. In. A. Restaurant.” You said. “Keep your clothes on, unless you want to be arrested for public indecency.”

The waiter passed your table and gave you both a weird look. You turned your focus back to Childe, determined to not get kicked out.

“Wouldn’t being in public make it more fun though?” He said mischievously, looking up at you through a hooded gaze.

“WHAT-“

You both were asked to leave.

Kaeya & Complicated clothes

“Since you designed these, I’m assuming you know how to get these off? Just in case you didn’t know, I’m a visual learner.” He teased, bringing your hand to the choker around his neck. His eyes sparkled, peering into yours, as a raging blush formed on your cheeks.

“So, what do you say?” He asked, smirking.

You were getting a bit nervous from the close proximity, but you decided to at least try to form a coherent response.

“Don’t you have to change out of those everyday?” You gulped, trying to back away, despite the secure hold he had on you.

He lowered his head, until his lips were brushing against the shell of your ear.

“It seems to be that I have forgotten.” He whispered.

That was the last thing you remembered, as you blacked out right then and there.

…

After recovering from a particularly bad nose bleed at the Favonious Cathedral, you received an official apology from none other than Acting Grand Master Jean herself, on behalf of Kaeya’s “bothersome” behavior.

Ei & the Chest window

Ei didn’t really notice that her “chest window” could be considered odd until she overheard your conversation with Childe. Apparently open areas of clothing that are normally cover could be considered… lewd.

“Ei, why is your face so red?” You asked, worriedly pressing your palm to her forehead. She had been unusually silent, and avoiding your gaze for almost the entirety of your picnic.

“N-nothing!” She stuttered, moving away from your hand.

You gave her a look, clearly not buying it.

“You know you can always talk to me if something’s bothering you.” You said, still concerned about her behavior.

She seemed to consider your words before huffing.

“Alright.” She mumbled. “I happened to overhear your conversation with Childe earlier today about his… stomach window.”

You nodded, encouraging her to continue.

She inhaled, seeming to prepare herself.

“Did you design this…” she pointed to her chest, “With anything particular mind?”

It suddenly occurred to you that she was asking about her chest window. You laughed a little, amused by the returning heat across her cheeks.

“There was one key reason…” you trailed off, taking note of her intense stare.

“You see… there is a specific term that people in my old word used to use for people like you.”

She leaned forward, determined to hear your next words.

“Mommy.”

“I- Excuse me?” She questioned, shock and disbelief written over her expression.

“I dunno about the others, but that was my main reason.” You shrugged, shoving some dango in your mouth.

Ei tried to come up with something else to say, but no words came to mind. She gave up, also deciding to eat some dango.

The rest of the picnic went smoothly, but you could swear that you saw her looking over at you throughout the afternoon.

"Hey, Haitham, would you miss me if I was gone? ... oh, its nothing serious. I was just thinking of leaving for- No, moving to Mondstadt. Permanently. Hey, if I leave, I can give Kaveh my place! You two wouldn't have to be roommates anymore, won't that be great? I should ask him when I see him next time."

"Such a foolish question."

Of course he'd miss you.

"The sooner you leave, the faster that freeloader can give me back my space."

Liar, his dead heart wept. Al-Haitham calmly sipped his drink as he continued to listen to you ramble on and on about where you wanted to go and when. The usually sweet tasting wine left a sour feeling in his mouth, his grip around the cup unusually tight as he peered at you when you weren't looking, his knuckles turning whiter than a sheet as you kept on talking and talking.

Do you ever shut up?

Why can't you have an off button, Al-Haitham thought angrily to himself. That way he can shut down any and all ideas you had, he didn't even understand why you bothered to ask for his opinion most of the time as you'd still stick to your guns regardless of how reckless or even downright stupid some of your grandiose ideas were.

But this one really takes the cake.

Was Sumeru lacking in resources that you needed, is that why you wanted to leave? Or is it due to the lack of arts that you feel trapped, is that why you wished to see city of freedom? Al-Haitham scoffed quietly to himself as he gently placed down the cup back on the table, his face rigid as ever but his heart was bleeding a little on the inside.

How dare you.

"Actually, I changed my mind." said Al-Haitham, his green gaze permanently fixated on you.

"Even if you gave him the place for free he'd still find a way to mess it up. Just keep your place."

You laughed off his words, saying that wasn't going to really stop you from packing up and taking your leave whenever you wanted. He scowled to himself, his chest feeling bitter and frustrated.

Fine, two can play that game.
