Two ongoing digital games bundles are offering more than 200 tabletop RPGs (among video games, soundtracks, books and other goodies) in order to raise money in support of the Palestine Children’s Relief Funds. The Palestinian Relief Bundle is being hosted on Itch.io, while the separate TTRPGs for Palestine Charity Bundle is taking place on Tiltify. For $8, the Palestinian Relief Bundle is offering nearly 400 total items, 103 of which are tabletop RPG systems, supplements and adventures. Mapmaking game Ex Novo is joined by the paranormal gunslinging satire FIST: Ultra Edition, along with Takuma Okada’s celebrated solo journaling game Alone on a Journey. Weird and dirty iconoclast game about money, the mind and everything else, Greed by Gormenghast is also on this list and is well worth a look. And if you’d rather keep it cosy and introspective, Cassi Mothwin’s Clean Spirit will get the whole group taking care of their domestic homes. The TTRPGs for Palestine Charity Bundle focuses solely on analogue games, providing nearly 200 tabletop games for $15. A full spreadsheet of the included titles can be viewed here and includes Nevyn Holme’s Gun&Slinger, where one player embodies an occult cowboy while the second plays their sentient, magical gun. Wendi Yu’s Here, There, Be Monsters! approaches monster hunting media from the other side of the camera with a decidedly queer lens and unapologetic politics. Makapatag’s Gubat Banwa is a lush and dynamic collision of wuxia media, fiercely romantic and tragic melodrama all set against the backdrop and folklore of The Philippines.

My husband and I went back to his hometown for the total eclipse and I got a decent shot (or, uh, as good a shit it can get with a phone camera) with Venus in the corner
I think we even saw a solar flare during totality. What an experience

SUPPORT A GHOST STORY ON PATREON
Tumblr media
hi everyone, there's a big news post on this RETURN TO FORM that sort of reiterates what i said in the newsletter about the state of the comic (positive?). anyway, it would mean a lot if you read it or passed this around to people you think might like a dark, slice of life comic about sickos threatening to shoot ghosts.

Unprintable: Elements postcard set
(In case you didn't spot it, the results of my launch giveaway draw are now up on Patreon!)
Since so many people entered the print giveaway, I wanted to make sure everyone got something out of it. These have been some of my most popular postcard designs, to the point that it's very difficult to keep them all in stock long enough to sell full sets. Today I'm releasing all five designs (including the coveted ether card) to the public domain!
You can download hi-res print files here and print your own set or otherwise use the designs however you like from now on. They're yours!
What is Unprintable?

Hi, Vanna here. I have submitted to the strange authority of Xenforo's image hosting system, which demands that if I want gallery items to appear in proper order, I will have to upload them back to front.
As such, welcome to the last few page's of Animedia Magazine's September 1997 supplemental Duelist Bible, translated by Nagumo and edited by me!
Anyway

Here's another thread I don't want to leave languishing at the old site, relevant because another case of shitty pseudo-mentorship is in the news. It's tough to start a career. I'm lucky to have had good mentors. I'm grateful and want to pass it on. These are some notes I made on ways to do so.
1. Promote artists a generation younger than you. Share your platform. RT them, mention them in interviews. (This means being aware of what younger artists are doing!)
2. Hire them if you can. Pin ups, commissions, variants, fill-ins, assists, anything. A small gig can be what helps them make rent.
3. (The same applies to creators a generation older. Many of them helped develop the visual language, the audience, and the industry infrastructure we rely on. Tell your reader how these artists' choices informed your own. Help your fans see what you saw in your influences' stories.)
4. Support anthologies. They've always been a key place where new and marginalized talent can incubate, & established artists can try something new. (They certainly were for me. Many of the big leaps I made as an artist happened on anthology stories where I had freedom to experiment.)
5. Mentor new artists! Even if their subject or style is different from yours, you still have much to offer. Just be sure to frame your advice in terms of goals & principles rather than "the right way" or "the wrong way." You want to help them find their own voice, not echo yours.
6. Suggest strategies for dealing with challenging clients or collaborators. The industry may be very different from when you broke in, but those young artists are still going to face the many of the same problems you did.
7. Steer them towards someone trustworthy when they need a consultant. It's not easy to find an accountant, an agent, or a lawyer who understands what we do. Your contacts are valuable!
If nothing else, make them aware of Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts. https://vlaa.org/get-help/other-vlas/
8. Share your understanding of industry standards for pay rates & professional practices. This doesn't mean posting your rates in public. The main that does is anchor your position when negotiating rates with a potential client. But in private, TALK. This benefits ALL your peers.
9. There will be times when you can't answer a question. It happens all the time. No one knows everything! But you probably know someone who *can* answer it. Use your network of connections and make the introduction.
10. And finally, take questions about the art, the craft, the culture, and the business on your social media. Answer them as honestly as you can.

Thanks to everyone who voted in that poll a while back! The Half-Moon Tee won out, and after two months in the making, it's finally wearable!

I used a mystery combo pack from Dragon Board Yarn's end-of-the-year sale. Main color is a beautiful variegated colorway called Artemis (fitting for the moon theme). For the moon pattern, I used a nice light blue yarn I got in Iceland.
Toast described the color combo as "like a friendly goth cupcake" when I showed her some early progress pics

And with that: my first sweater with sleeves. Other firsts: German short rows, working with single ply yarn (the light pink color), covering up holes in the underarms after the sleeves were done, redoing bind-offs after my attempt at an Icelandic bind-off resulted in the sleeves being a little tight (silver lining: more time spent working with some nifty yarn)

Sometimes when I'm doing the dishes I randomly think about a scene in DBZ where Goku accidentally breaks a plate because of his strength, to Chi-Chi's chagrin, and then she gets even madder when Goku (or maybe it was Gohan?) suggests using paper plates instead

truly connected people on a staggering level. If you engage with anime, even if you dont like dbz, chances are the anime you like got to you because of dbz's popularity. If you like jrpgs, even if you've never played dragon quest, the games you do love almost certainly became a thing because someone in the 80s loved dragon quest. 68 is way too young but genuinely what a towering legacy.
