Not ninjago related but since matpat’s leaving youtube I just wanted to say how much that man has impacted my life. I grew up watching his film and game theories before I stopped. Recently I started watching them again and fell back into the theorist group and now with Matpat moving on I wanted to say for anyone who’s ever watched him go watch the most recent game theory video where he gives the full explanation on why he’s leaving and who’s taking over the four channels. And if you’ve never watched him before I highly recommend you do he’s such an icon and it’s bittersweet he’s leaving. But yeah that’s my rant about Matpat leaving the internet

it’s been a hot minute but I watched the first five episodes of s1 pt2 of Dragons rising and that one side character that was there in the Lloyd and Arin episode that legit had a non-binary flag on their sleeve

in love with the ninjago creators there over here just dropping hints left and right on being supportive of the LGBTQ+ community and making characters normalized

Heres my own redesign of s1 Nya I did for funsies!

I always wished she had a less formal outfit (because lets face it, a qipao isn’t exactly casual) but it was too iconic to just completely remove, so I gave her a jacket! I also added some subtle hints to her being a mechanic/Samurai X; her toolbelt, goggles and the oil smudge on her cheek!

Not much else I would really change about her character in s1 (except her … questionable writing but that’s a talk for another day..,,!)

okay listen. It´s been a hot second since I last saw season 1 so I have absolutely no clue whether the whole Samurai X thing started before or after they took Lloyd in but for the sake of this comic, let´s pretend that it´s possible that Nya got the Samurai idea from Lloyd because I think it´s cute

The timeline is what I make of it.

Also, I NEED more content of the Lloyd & Nya friendship specifically. Especially bc they must have such a special bond due to them both being left out or at least joining the "main 4" later on. I think even later when they´re both fully integrated in the team that they´re especially close and this never changes. I´m sorry I am so emotional about them, these two mean so much to me AAAAHH

(Also sidenote: if anyone has recommendations for ninjago fanfics with little Lloyd or nice found family dynamics in general, pleeeeaaase drop them in the comments, I WILL LOVE YOU FOREVER)
