psychoanalyzing the gender/identity dichotomy between ice skating and ice hockey and coming to the more objectively correct conclusion that ice hockey is rooted in motherly feminine behavior of protecting the nest and that ice skating is about masculine peacocking of one's own physical prowess in seeking a mate
tessavirtue17: Back to where it all began to celebrate Ilderton Skating Club’s 50th anniversary …
So much joy. So many memories. All of the nostalgia!
That rink is where we took our first steps together, the place we found a passion for dance, where we learned to skate in front of people, and under lights. It was where we pushed ourselves, fell, tested boundaries, passed (and failed) skills, dances and free skates. That rink is home. And it always will be.
Grateful for the Ilderton community for always, always showing up and sharing love.

”This season the first half of the season was very rough to me but I really tried not to give up and to bring back myself. This is my first time coming to Japan, to Saitama. So I really want to come, And I achieved that, and I achieved more than I expected. I brought everything that I wanted to bring to the audience and I’m really happy about it.”
- Haein Lee
“I’m very happy about the medal today and also I’m very happy with what I skated, what I did today. I really trained hard and I really wanted to enjoy today and I think I really enjoyed it. And I give everything so I’m very happy about that.”
- Junhwan Cha
not to be a cringe sports fan but it drives me just a little bit insane when people who dont know shit about figure skating act like yuzuru hanyu isnt an actual generational talent. like have you ever lost your mind over his zero prerotation quad lutz or his traveling camel entry or his axel twizzle sandwich or his unbelievable number of clusters ending with twizzles? no? then shut the fuck up
