Dear @tpexpresstrains... . Please can you explain your new booking policy for bicycles? It’s clearly flawed after my experience today... . A short notice decision led me to chance taking my bike between Scarborough and Malton. . My carriage was virtually empty and I was with the only bicycle. . A member of TPE staff informed me I was lucky to be on the train as he was only tolerating ‘my type’ for around four weeks, when he’ll start denying travel. . I couldn’t reserve a bike space through my chosen app (Trainline) and having investigated the TPE app it seems I can only reserve a bike space with a reserved seat. The irony when I’m sat in an empty carriage is not wasted here. . So, why are you restricting where customers can by their tickets from? And why am I not allowed to stand when travelling with a bicycle? . If your bike section is in a different carriage to the reserved seating carriage, how am I supposed to not leave my items unattended? . I await your reply, if not publicly then to [email protected] (at Scarborough, North Yorkshire)
