Really great in-depth interview with Nick Lang conducted by a longtime StarKid fan. Some takeaways:
- I hope fans who don’t know a lot about the inner workings of StarKid see this and take time to read it, especially those demanding tours all the time since it might help them understand why it might not be feasible for the team. I know Nick said he wants to potentially try to work back up to doing one but I can tell it’s tough on them.
- I knew they’d had full-time employees and ended up firing them all but not EIGHT. Wow. I thought it was maybe like four. O_O
- Interesting that 2009-2012 was the “Golden Age” of StarKid when I noticed a rise in quality with certain aspects of the shows/writing starting with Twisted which was in 2013. (I know Nick meant financially though haha.) It just seemed a bit more professional (even though everyone had just been fired lol). But I know it’s less because of the content and more that YouTube/the internet in general is different now, and as Nick said part of why they were so successful in the first place was timing (in more ways than one).
- If we’re talking about eras, I think we might be in the “StarKid Renaissance” at the moment. I think Firebringer and the meme that came from it brought back a lot of older fans as well as some new ones into the fray. Also because…
- We knew they were planning some things for the 10th anniversary next year but now Nick’s saying he and Matt want to try to do at least one production a year again??? And that they currently have plans for FIVE MORE SHOWS??? I hope y’all are saving for all the Kickstarters we’ll be seeing in the next several years. XD

Reblog this if you would date a disabled person
I’m in a wheelchair and my dad has always told me I wouldn’t find a date. I’m going to make a book with all of the names of the rebloggers.

Meet @nisha.k.sethi, a talented Los Angeles based Visual Designer who specializes in sign painting and typography. • Goodtype’s founder @brookethesunsurfer had the pleasure of meeting Nisha in Austin, TX while she was in town for SXSW. Checkout our Instagram Stories for a direct link to our interview with Nisha—where she tells us about her journey to becoming a sign painter—about how she developed her skills as a graphic designer behind a computer, which eventually began to weigh on her soul and opened up a part of her that longed to get back to the analog roots of design and work with her hands. • Nisha teamed up with @amplifierart in collaboration with youth organizers to create the poster above. Which you can download for free from Amplifier’s website. More on that in our interview.  • Nisha also shares with us some great resources and advice for anyone interested in exploring the fine craft of sign painting.

asoiaf & got characters // pt. XIV - Daenerys Targaryen (ver. I, ver. II, ver. III)
ghiscari tokar “The garment was a clumsy thing, a long loose shapeless sheet that had to be wound around her hips and under an arm and over a shoulder, its dangling fringes carefully layered and displayed. Wound too loose, it was like to fall off; wound too tight, it would tangle, trip, and bind. Even wound properly, the tokar required its wearer to hold it in place with the left hand. Walking in a tokar demanded small, mincing steps and exquisite balance, lest one tread upon those heavy trailing fringes. It was not a garment meant for any man who had to work. The tokar was a master’s garment, a sign of wealth and power.”
