DC Dual Force
Dc Dual force is a CCG made by  CCG Lab Inc. Dc dual force is a game where the player is faced with an opponent and the aim is to take out the other player with recruits that you can deploy. The recruits must take out each other before they reach the other player character.
Tumblr media
In this game the mechanic of being given a random card is what gives the game replay value. When the player finishes their turn they are awarded a card that can either support them greatly by giving them great defense and attack or just become a detriment and become easily attackable.

Marvel Snap
Marvel Snap is a collectible card game developed by Second Dinner. Marvel Snap is a sort like the traditional snap where if you put down two cards of the same, whoever says snap first wins. In this each card has its own value and whoever side has the highest power wins.
Tumblr media
The randomness in this game is the enemy. You have no idea what the enemy will put down next and if it'll be higher power than yours. Making it much more thrilling and putting the player on the edge of their seats. I like this use of RNG as it gives the player a sense of fear for what's coming next. It can be rewarding if the game gives you a character who has a power higher than your enemy

Borderlands
Borderlands is a game developed by Gearbox Software is a first person looter game where the aim is to collect guns and kill enemies while trying to reach "The Vault"
Tumblr media
The game uses randomness similar to fortnite where you can open a cache of some sort and receive a weapon that has the potential of being from a common to a legendary weapon. The only difference is that the player have the opportunity to keep the weapon instead of jus losing it next match. This gives the player a sense of progress and achieving something. I prefer this style of collecting weapons as it makes it more rewarding in the long term instead of being a short term gain

Fifa
FIFA is a game developed by EA games that has the player control one team. The game uses real football players from the world and puts them in the game.
Tumblr media
The game uses card packs, similar to trading card games to reward the player for playing the game. FIFA rewards the player with FIFA coins that could be used to buy football card packs. This keeps the players playing the gamer for more coins. This in a way can also generate the company money as players would continue to buy fifa coins with real money to keep opening more packs

Fortnite
Fortnite is a multiplayer battle royale game developed by Epic Games. The main premise of the game is that the player is dropped out of a flying bus and is landing towards an island with just a pickaxe in hand. The player must then scavenge for any supplies that would help them survive other players.
Tumblr media
The game uses many ways of randomness to achieve its unique gameplay style. One of which is the battle bus. Wherever the bus is facing when you take off is what you need to adapt to. This makes it hard as if there is a specific place you want to go every game but the battle bus isn't flying in that direction or vicinity, you would need to quickly change the plan.
Another way the game uses randomness is in the loot boxes. When opening a loot box there is a quantity of items that could spawn from basic to legendary. This determines the power and strength the weapons go emit.
I also really like this way of randomness in games as the victory doesn't 100% depend on the players luck as its totally possible to be unlucky throughout the whole game but still win due to skill

Flappy Bird
Flappy bird is a mobile game created by a Vietnamese game developer named Dong Nguyen. The games main premise is to keep flying through the pipes but when the player taps the screen to fly, the bird fly's in an arcing angle that makes it hard to fly through narrow pipes
Tumblr media
The game is again, similar to crossy road. A game derived from both skill and luck. It takes skill to judge when the bird should fly up and it takes luck for the pipe to not be out of reach from the player and the pipes have the ability to be very low to the floor or very high on the screen, forcing the player to panic and attempt to reach the pipe, endangering themselves.

Crossy Road
Crossy road is a voxel game independently developed by "Hipster Whale". Crossy road is a game where skill and luck is equally needed to stay alive. The main premise is to dodge oncoming cars while still moiving forward.
Tumblr media
I really like how this game is played as it doesn't just rely on just luck or just skill. It equally relies on both as it takes skill to make a judgement if a jump is safe to make and it takes luck for a car not to come and squish the player once the jump is taken. This sort of thing is what I used in my game. I took skill and luck and tried my best to equal them.

Super Mario Run
Super Mario Run is a mobile game developed by Nintendo. The main premise is that mario cant stop running so you need to careful coordinate your jumps to avoid hitting anything above you.
Tumblr media
What I like a lot is the randomness of everything. There is a different chances of a lot of things, such as what will come out of the question blocks, what enemies will be on the next screen. I really like how they use the question blocks. It makes it so there will be a pleasant surprise no matter what comes out. Whether its just a normal red mushroom or something better.

Mario Party
Mario party, developed by Nintendo. Is a multiplayer game where each person is assigned a character and a dice roll. The players roll a dice and whatever game they land on, they will all play and depending on the game they will all get a task.
Tumblr media
This task could be many things such as reaching the end of the level unharmed or testing your reflexes with pressing a button at a certain time the fastest.
I really like this way of playing. It tests the players skill of the game and also puts the players victory in randomness making the game fun and rewarding for everyone involved.

Snakes and Ladders
Snakes and ladders is a board game made around 2nd century BC. This is a randomly rolled game which means that it involves a dice. When the dice is rolled, whatever number it lands on is how many moves you can take.
Tumblr media
Though landing on either a ladder or a snake can either hinder or benefit your performance. I like this game a lot as it is always exciting to see how the player is going to get dealt with. The only thing I dont like about the game is that the player doesn't have much of a choice other than to quit as the dice roll basically plays the game for them. Making the game just completely random

Monopoly
Monopoly is a board game and also a video game created over and over by many different studios. The main premise of the game is to finish with the most money, you earn money by buying real estate and either selling it or generating money when another player lands on it.
The game uses a dice roll to determine how many steps you can take. This is a random chance mechanic and is can be the reason you win or lose the game. For example, if you are in jail, you need to roll a 9 to get out. This random chance roll makes up the entire game of monopoly and makes the game enjoyable enough for players to come back to

No Man's Sky - Procedural Generation - How it all works - YouTube
in the video shown above, it is reveled that No mans sky uses procedural generation to generate their maps and species. This means that they use algorithms and random numbers to create terrains and other aspects. This is similar to how seeds work but instead of one set of numbers being used in a game, it is millions of sets of numbers being used in one game.
