Every time I change the strings of my guitar it feels like a burst of fresh wind and energy enters it. My new 3P is being released tomorrow! Stay tuned. This shot was taken from the legendary open mic night in Sägewerk, Graz - Hosted by the @theuptownmonotones. I actually performed there a stripped-down acoustic (but still groovy) versions of my new songs included in tomorrow's 3P. Must say - performing hebrew lyrics and middle-eastern melodies in front of a european crowd seemed scary at first sight.. 2019 has been quite a challenging year for me, personally and musically, I haven't created as much as I'd expected I would and I gave myself quite a hard time for it... This saturday performing in the Mur Kultur festival 🤩 I've performed there last year, honestly I was nervous - first time doing my live beats performance, my head ran all the things that could possibly go wrong, including a sudden flood in the river that washes all my equipment away.. scary. 😨 Eventually though, it was a very exhilarating experience, everything went well, no flood (phew) and people were moving to my beats. What I like the most about playing an instrument (drum pads, keyboard, guitar) is that with every touch of my finger, a new colour or vibration comes into the world that is uniquely mine, for a split second. So for me, playing a certain groove, or a melody, is my humble attempt at painting my mood in a way that doesn't stay with you, but moves with you. I remember going through my parents' old vinyls, they had all kinds of artists there I've never heard about and of course classics like 'Dark side of the moon' and Stevie wonder records. I was probably around 15 years old at the time, definitely a 'pirate-as-much-music-as-you-can kid' (Now i'm a Streaming kid, mind you), but still, it felt kind of magical. Dusting off those old records, looking at the song titles, smelling it, putting it gently on the 2-decades unused vinyl player, and hearing that crackling sound of it spinning, before any 'real' musical sound begins.I wonder what that music meant to them, at the time they just bought those albums.
