In honor of Mother’s Day, ask my muse anything you want to know about their mother!

     the kid took a moment to ponder the question. when you lose someone very close to you - at least, in his experience - it becomes harder and harder to really remember anything bad about them at all. they become ghosts of wonderful memories, and even if it can be painful to recall upon them, the memories themselves are precious pearls within a sea of regret and guilt.

     a small smile dances across his lips before he answers, eyes threatening to mist over.

     “ she did a lot of stuff that made me smile. she baked the BEST chocolate chip cookies, she’d take me to my favorite comic book shop. she let me lick the icing off the spoon when she’d bake a birthday cake. she ... she was great. ”

     a sigh before he continues.  “ but i’d have to say that one thing she did that always made me smile no matter what would have to be her singing. sometimes i’d have .. i don’t know. these -- meltdowns, and i’d cry. or my anger would get the better of me. but, then she’d sing. and it always worked to calm me down and make me smile. every time. ”

     m.others da.y is kind of a tough time for kid. f.athers d.ay too honestly,,,,, hes rlly happy for his friends being able to celebrate their moms and all that theyve done for them, but the sting of losing his mother is still fresh. he tries to blow it off or not let it show, but sometimes the funk still gets to him and he just. wants to hide in his “”headquarters”” for the day.

“Oh how cute, someone wants to play hero!” Rippen laughed, finding Kid’s little facade to be hilarious. “Tell me child, how are you going to stop me, when you can’t even control your own powers?!”

“You can’t even idly float without going off balance and turning every which way, it’s really quite embarrassing for someone who calls themselves a “Hero”, don’t you think?”

     the kid tried telling himself that the heat creeping into his cheeks was from anger and NOT embarrassment. what did this guy know, anyway ?  he didn’t know anything about kid or his powers ! he grits his teeth and twists his face up in an expression that he hopes is intimidating. 

     he definitely wasn’t intimidated by this bigger, older guy. kid was the intimidating one. right ?  he’s the one with powers, after all !  this villain probably doesn’t even have anything up his sleeve.

     “ im NOT playing ! ”  kid retorted, feeling a rush of frustration slither up his spine and burn into the tips of his fingers.  “ i AM a hero. and as a hero, i plan on stopping whatever dastardly plans you’ve concocted !  im going to -- woah, woah, wait ! ”  as if on cue to try and prove him wrong, the kid lost his balance while hovering in the air and spun backwards, circling around himself as he attempted to regain some control of his stance. 

     “ im -- im going to STOP you !! ”

He seemed to have caught the boy’s attention, watching as the Kid flew closer, eyes widening when he was threatened and accused of being an alien.

Not like he could blame him, though. He retracted his tentacles, dropping back to the ground, kicking up a lotta dust in the progress. Waving the sand away, he looked back up at the blond.

“ I’m not an alien or an invader! ” he was already called a freak at home, must it continue out of state as well? “ Can’t we just talk? ”

Not like he was against fighting bullies– he’d just rather not get in trouble on a field trip.

     woah !  this isnt what he expected an evil-doer from outer space to look like. he certainly didn’t resemble any of the other aliens that the kid had encountered so far while being in possession of the cosmic stones. the person before him looked pretty ... normal, all and all. he even had tinted glasses, just like kid !  even though his were green, it still caught the young hero’s attention.

     still, though !  it is important for aspiring heroes to not let their guard down until they are ABSOLUTELY sure that there is no threat amongst them !  after the sandy dust cleared, kid attempted to lower himself to the ground below. the descent was less than graceful, but he managed to place two feet on solid ground while only uttering a small OOF of pain. quickly standing up, kid places two tiny fists on his hips and glares at the other. 

     “ yeah, well ... if you’re not an ALIEN, then what are you ?  have you come for my rings of power ?  because if that’s the case, you can just -- leave now !  before i, uh .. do something ..... that you won’t like !! ”

It's on a school field trip that Nergal Jr finds himself in the vast deserts of New Mexico. He lagged behind the class as they walked along the road, following Ms. Butterbean as she talked to them about the desert.

The group had to stop after Billy used Grim's scythe to cut open a cactus, attempting to drink the juice from it only to get two handfuls of spines. While his teacher and Grim pulled the spines out, Junior read, but looked up when he heard a strange sound.

He could've sworn he heard laughter, out in the distance. Glancing around, he spotted what seemed to be a young boy, zooming around in the air. Looking back to his class, they didn't seem to have noticed (or they didn't care), and so he decided to investigate himself.

Junior ran off from the group, propping himself up in the air with his tentacles, trying to get a better look at what was flying around.

   “ whooo hoooo ! haha -- woah ! hah, this is great !! yahoooo ! ”  the kid couldn’t help but holler in excitement as the power of his stone ring sent him through the air at top speeds, up and down, spinning in a circle until his stomach rolled and then slowing down, leaving the young boy hovering several feet in the air. soon, he took off once more, letting out another cheerful squeal. 

     kid liked to think that he was actually improving with his flying. so what if rosa seemed to be beating up MOST of the bad guys ?  or if people thought jo was the leader ?  or if papa g had to set up landing strips because kid was still learning how to BRAKE with these powers ?  he was getting better with his flying, and no one could tell him differently !

     he shot up once more into the air before hearing a rustling in the sand below. as far as he knew, jo was at work, chuck was in the trailer, rosa was napping at home, and his grandpa was working on some of his “yard art”. a superhero must always be on high alert !  immediately, kid went into defensive mode. 

     “ hey !  whos’ there ?  you better answer me, and quick !  you don’t want to mess with KID COSMIC. ”  truthfully, kid kind of hoped that this perpetrator did want some destruction. this was the PERFECT opportunity to finally show the others just what an awesome superhero kid made !  it wasn’t until kid managed to float down a bit lower that he spotted what he could only make out as tentacles. tentacles ??  nothing says ALIEN SCUM like tentacles !!

     “ come up here and face me, coward !  you came to the wrong planet, alien invader !! ”
