in my romcom i think i’d mostly be standing in the rain crying
Tumblr media
i also had to add the 6th song because it really just makes a lot of sense and shows who i really am at heart
im tagging @sapphicsandscience and whoever else wants to do this (and expose themselves) !!!
I was tagged by @everybodyknows-everybodydies 😀 This is fun!!
Open your Spotify 'On Repeat' and the first five songs are the soundtrack to your personal rom-com
Tumblr media
So I could have pulled some different lyrics and made this a rom-com that loosely followed the story of the last crush I had a couple years ago. But I chose to pick these lyrics and go with a mind-fuck movie version of trying to explain my like 95% ace/aro view of relationships lmao
1. quién lo diría que se podría hacer el amor por telepatía // y me prendes aunque no me estés tocando (who'd say that love could be made by telepathy // and you turn me on even though you're not touching me)
2. there's hella connection, ain't even a question // you don't gotta try, i'm already yours // so simplify, get out of your head
3. when i'm out walking, i strut my stuff, and i'm so strung out // i'm high as a kite, i just might stop to check you out // big hands, i know you're the one
4. and i wanna feel your hands all over me // if the high is what you seek, fuck a kiss on the cheek, baby take all of me
4 (reprise lol). now i wake up alone with teardrops on my sheets // calling out your name, knowing you can't hear a thing // 'cause you were always just a dream
5. it's been way too long since somebody's body was tangled with mine // gotta have patient hands // 'cause the way to my heart is through my mind
Almost all of these are in my top 5 simply because I love drag queens, and yet they made for a surprisingly coherent throughline in the lyrics lol
Tagging @laurasinnes @waterloo-kitchener @wonderofasunrise @followusontweeters @vaderscape @kerrysweaver and whoever else wants to play 😊🎶

This is the Kerry/Sandy Fluff #9 Prompt from @sapphicsandscience 💞
“You took all the pillows so I’m using you as one.”
“Ugh-“ Kerry grunted as she was pulled out of her sad excuse for sleep, which truly had consisted of lying in silence trying to recite every disease and condition of the cardiovascular system until she fell unconscious. “Is that your head?”
The pitch black pop-up tent shook slightly with a gust of wind while Kerry’s hands explored the bed, finding a mass of curls laying across her stomach.
“Well, you took all the pillows, so I’m using you as one.” Sandy cozied herself closer under their several layers of blanket.
“God, you have a heavy head.” Kerry murmured around a smile, feigning another grunt of pain as she shifted.
“Hey!” Sandy exclaimed, rolling off of her date and crawling up until she was inches away from her face, barely able to make out her features. “Do not forget that this was your idea.”
“I didn’t mean actually ice fishing!” Kerry exclaimed, having been prepared for this conversation all night. “I believe I also said we should go see a movie, so why are we sitting in a thermo tent instead of an AMC right now?”
Sandy sat up on her knees, the blankets surrounding them falling off of her shoulders and uncovering Kerry down to the waist. While their tent was indeed heated, it was nothing near comfortable and Kerry quickly grabbed Sandy’s arms and pulled her down on top of her, quickly reaching for the blankets and pulling them back up to their necks. Sandy laughed, positioning herself on top of Kerry so that she hovered slightly over her, then leaned down, speaking between kisses.
Sandy kissed her neck. “Because,” she bit at her earlobe, “we can’t do this,” she kissed her lips, “in a movie theatre.” She finished with a sparkle in her eye before throwing the covers over her head and moving a little further south.

could you pls do kerry/abby general #46 :))))
Yes of course!! And because you are always so kind when you reblog my Home chapters, I thought you might enjoy another little glimpse into that world (though it is not... quite as sweet as the last Home one shot...)
Prompt #46 General: “Are they really ‘just a friend’?” [I took liberties with the grammar of this one...]
Just Friends (a[nother] Home one-shot)
“We watched it in the ER,” Abby said over her shoulder, moving Emma’s empty yogurt bowl off of her highchair and wiping the toddler’s face with a wet cloth. “I think you’re really good.”
Kerry snickered, shaking her head from her position over the stove, scrambling eggs in the pan with one hand while she lifted her coffee mug to her lips with the other.
“Courtney said the same thing,” she said between sips of coffee, not catching Abby’s eyes flashing up from where she was unbuckling Emma from her seat.
“Yeah?” She lifted Emma up and set her on the floor, letting the two year old walk independently to her mother while she brought the dirty dishes to the sink.
“Yeah… she stopped by last night to watch the segment,” Kerry smiled lightly. “She thinks I should take that job.”
Kerry pushed the eggs out of the pan and onto two plates, lifting them to the table while her daughter walked steadily beside her with a hand gripped onto the fabric of her suit pants.
Abby stood at the sink, unmoving. Kerry began to eat before looking up at Abby’s back.
“Your eggs are getting cold.” she said simply, rising to grab the coffee she had forgotten by the stove. Coming flush with Abby, Kerry peered over at her, watching as the younger woman seemed to be frozen in space, her hands pressed down on the counter.
“Abby?” Kerry prompted, finally getting the other women to look up from the sink. “Your eggs.” Kerry gestured with her eyes before returning to the table, watching Emma as she walked to where Stinky was laying in the corner of the room. Old age was catching up with the dog but he still had the patience of a saint when it came to the curly-haired toddler he shared his apartment with.
Abby pushed herself away from the sink and moved to the table, sitting but not doing much more than pushing the eggs around on her plate.
“Why are you upset?” Kerry finally ventured, her eyes scanning Abby’s face as she set her own fork down.
“I’m not.” Abby took a bite before all but throwing her fork down, the clatter gaining Emma’s attention from across the room.
“I’m not taking the job, Abby, we’ve already talked about it.” Kerry’s eyebrows furrowed, wondering how Abby could possibly have forgotten the numerous conversations they’d already had on the subject. “I’m not going to take Emma away from her grandparents, from you.” she emphasized the last word, waiting to catch Abby’s eye but the brunette refused to look up from her plate.
“I just…” Abby started with a sigh, looking at Emma where she was playing on the floor in an effort to look everywhere but at the green eyes waiting for her response. “I just didn’t know Courtney was coming by last night, that’s all.”
Taken aback, Kerry’s eyes widened momentarily before she regained control over them. “It wasn’t really planned. She was in the neighborhood…” she began.
“It’s a good thing I didn’t stop by, I guess, I wouldn’t have wanted to interrupt the two of you,” her eggs practically untouched, Abby rose from her spot, moving with her dish to Stinky’s bowl and pushing the scrambled eggs off of her plate.
“Abby…” Kerry began, unsure if she was truly following. “You wouldn’t- you wouldn’t have walked in on anything.”
Abby moved toward the sink, rinsing her plate before setting it in the dishwasher.
“I don’t know what you’re so upset about.” Kerry said. Emma, abandoned by Stinky who had moved to his dish, began to cry at the tension in the room and Kerry moved to pick her up, lifting her up onto her hip.
“I’m not, I’m not upset.” Abby turned, crossing her arms and leaning back against the sink. “Just… are you sure she’s really just a friend?”
Both women seemed to freeze, apart from the gentle bouncing Kerry continued in an effort to soothe the toddler who was still whimpering into her shoulder. As flashes of the night before came back to her - the wine, the kiss - Kerry truly wasn’t sure how to respond. Instead, she chewed the inside of her cheek as she tried to organize her thoughts. At her silence, Abby nodded, crossing to Emma and rubbing her arm reassuringly.
“It’s okay, baby, don’t cry.” Abby said, though Kerry wasn’t sure who she was trying to comfort more, Emma or herself, as Abby seemed to bite back tears before stepping hastily out of the kitchen.
“Abby-”
“I need to get ready for work.” The kitchen door closed heavily behind her as she left, followed swiftly by the sound of the front door as she headed home. The years had brought them so close… and so many people had wondered, had asked about their relationship. Kerry, even after all this time, had never been entirely sure how to answer those questions. She wasn’t sure if Abby knew, either.
Maybe… it was time they figured it out.
