From what I see on the street, average Indian male wears a plaid shirt (some plain) and dhoti. It’s a traditional rectangular unstitched cloth about 4.5 metres wear by men. It has a lot of names based on region. Interestingly you can tell by how they tied it up whether they’re in chill mode or hustle mode.
For those who don’t know, I went to a week trip to a small part of South India (Kochi, Thrissur, Alleppey). Go to my previous post to see what I experience on my short & sweet trip.

Sarpa Kavu
Sakthanthamburan palace, Thrissur, Kerala, India.
Photo taken by Sanjeev Kochumon.
Sarpa Kavu (meaning Abode of Snakes) is a traditional natural sacred space seen near traditional homes in Kerala state of South India. The site is believed to be inhabited by snakes, and the area usually contains a representation of Naga Raja (King of the Snakes) and other Naga Devatas (snake deities), where offerings and rites are performed during special ceremonies.
This is a Hindu ritual performed by certain sects of Nambudiris, and all castes hold the Sarpa Kavu in reverence, with access forbidden to the area unless for due ceremonies.
