❝ i never said i cared . ❞ oh , but she does and isn’t that clear ? but caring opens up the opportunity to be hurt and she can’t risk that . not in times like this . there’s a small breath that escapes , hazel hues darting over him .

“you don’t have to say it to do it.” he can see it in the familiar stare. one he remembers clearly in those around him everytime he goes on a mission. zombies, bioweapons, he can handle them. he puts the magazines inside the guns, safety on as he pushes them to his holsters and another couple to a bag. “I have been doing this for a decade, maybe more. I’ll be fine.”

hesitation flickers over her features , leaning against the wall . taking a sharp breath , jo unwrapped her jacket from her leg , tossing it over her shoulder . it wasn’t too deep of a wound but it still hurt like hell . ❝ just get it over with . ❞

confirmation given ,the young cop gets to work, cleaning up the wound first, knowing well the sting of alcohol in an open wound as he had a couple of injuries on him already. “right , now let’s wrap it up.” and he gets fresh bandages from the pouch and wraps it around her leg, blue eyes going back to her. “I’m leon, by the way, leon kennedy.”

“claire.” and there is a smile lingering on the rookie’s mouth, glad that she was safe. his gun stays in his holster but a hand always lingering. “right, big dude after you too?” he asks, knowing well how those encounters go. he reaches over, a hand on her shoulder. “there is a way down through some tunnels. hopefully, a way out of the city.”

elza laughed at leon’s comment and gave him a warm smile. he seemed sweet . . better then what she has been forced to deal with. “ i can run from him easy though . . he’s relentless though . . and completely impenetrable. “ she remarked. “ i could distract him if you needed to do something, though, wonderful at that. “ she promised with a joking wink. “ if we surprised him and ran into different directions he’d have to pick a target . . or is he too small brained to realize? maybe he’d get confused. “ she made fun.

“grenades slow him down, but you’re right.” and he gives her a couple of grenades for herself, just in case. he isn’t going to take many chances with the big guy, if he can escape and avoid until they are in a safe place, then leon is happy with that. “don’t know. big guy, small brain, right? quite a charmer with that little hat.” if that was a disguise, that was a poor, poor one. Leon finished up, memorized map in his head. “come on. ready to kick some dead weight’s ass?”
