I really, really love when selflessness is a negative character trait. Like giving yourself wholly for and to other people is often characterized as a Good thing with like. The chosen one type tropes or heroic figures. But it says so much when a character goes way too far with it.

And it works SO GOOD with Gepard in so many ways. Like hoyo really kinda sidelines him and makes him only bout being the captain of the silvermanes n its the only time we ever see him. Like hes intrinsically linked to the silvermanes n his whole character is centered around being the shield of belobog.

So who the fuck is he beyond that? What are his interests? What does he do in his free time? We get so little about him that all we really have is that he adores his sisters and tries to grow plants but sucks at it. So is he anything else? Who is he? If he couldnt be the captain, if he wasnt able to carry out his job for one reason or another, what would he do? Would he be able to cope with just existing for himself?

Random FACE Family headcanons because I can’t focus on much else

These are Mosaics-verse, kind of, but can stand alone! 

1. Arthur and Francis wanted one baby, only one, but the idea of separating twins seemed horrific to them. They saw the two little boys asleep in one cot, holding each other’s hand even as they slept, and whatever idea of the future they had just expanded. They immediately just looked at each other and smiled and they didn’t even have to say the words aloud because they had the same thought: they were going to adopt these twins. 

2. A lot of people tacitly suggested to Francis that since Alfred and Matthew were twins, he and Arthur should dress them alike because “how cute is that—you have a matching pair!” Arthur always thought it was bollocks but Francis would get legitimately FURIOUS at these people and he’d become really passive aggressive to them because even if Al and Mattie are babies, they are INDIVIDUALS with UNIQUE PERSONALITIES and how dare you suggest I should dress them like a pair of spoons in a china tea set how dare you!!! 

This used to really set Francis off when the boys were young and Arthur had to sometimes intervene and remove Francis from the situation. Francis isn’t the type to lose his cool like that but wow, this is one thing that to this day he grumbles about. 

3.  Matthew was a very shy kid when he was like 4-5 years old. He’d refuse to leave the house without Kumajiro and he’d get easily overwhelmed in crowds. Arthur would pick him up on his lap when this happened and just hold him and sing sea shanties and punk rock songs (and whatever else came to his head) in a slow, melodious voice to get Matthew to calm down. 

4. Francis would set Alfred on the kitchen counter with a plate of fruit or a snack and chat with him while he cooked. Alfred always whined and complained about how boring cooking was, but he was totally listening when Francis gently explained the interesting chemical changes that happened when different ingredients were combined. Alfred will still say that he hates cooking, but he’s actually quite good at it and is willing to experiment with recipes. When he goes off to college, Francis sends him a steady stream of recipes over text, with his (professional chef) suggestions on how to improve them.
