Well it is a very powerful color, often linked to royalty. [He shrugs his shoulders and exhales until his chest deflates. Ruby eyes the older trainer fondly, as if her presence was that of an old friend.] What brings yoiu around?
[Yawning and stretching out in the grass, Ruby kicks off his shoes and wiggles his toes.]

[And if the brief beams of evening sunlight didn't feel good against his skin, he'd have hopped up to string his fingers through the older trainer's hair. He exhales long and slow, eyes sliding shut.] Hey! You're Blue!
[Yawning and stretching out in the grass, Ruby kicks off his shoes and wiggles his toes.]

He hums after carefully taking Weavile's claw into his hand, and he generally didn't do this. Weavile liked to seize up at random, leaving deep grooves and red burning lines across the palms of Ruby's hands. Unfortunately, they stung like fucking crazy whenever he did his night time skin morsturizing routine. He glances back up at Silver, beaming.
"Sure, go ahead!!" And for a moment, he debates telling him about the other people he knows in the crowd, but he quickly decides against it. He still isn't sure if he wants to meet up with that person afterwards."Hope you enjoy the show," he says waving as he heads back to the dressing rooms. And he wouldn't be surprised if Weavile had been battling recently, bath time would be a chore.
[Silver’s tone completely solidifies Ruby’s good mood and he’s practically bouncing on the balls of his feet, beaming as he bats his eyelashes. And it’s astounding, how adaptable his mood could be. Or rather, how quickly it could change, but he thinks it could have something to do with the high energy of the contest in general. That and partially because Silver actually manages to say something nice.]
Thank you anyways. And thanks to Blue, too! [And this hyperness is nothing, he’s been competing for so long that it’s not often that he finds himself nervous. He wouldn’t betray or underestimate Weavile and pick a low level contest on purpose, but from what he’d scoped out, he wouldn’t be facing more than two or three expert coordinators.
And he liked a challenge. Liked to bring his best. He can’t remember wanting a win so bad. And it helps that Silver’s there because he can show him what he’s made of. But Ruby’s got old friends in the crowd. Scoped out grabbing good seats before the contest started and it makes Ruby feel like winning is that much more important.
Taking the pokeball, he releases Weavile instantly, ducking down to give the pokemon a light hug. He doesn’t want to wrinkle his outfit, naturally.] If you want, I can get you a seat closer to the front.

[Ruby replies quickly that he’s on his way and gets up from his stool, patting Rara lightly. He leaves her in his seat because he knows he’ll never be able to get it back if he doesn’t leave a placeholder.
He hasn’t seen Silver in a while, but there have been brief conversations between them about Weavile’s progress, and he thinks if the older trainer wants to converse, he can focus on that. But he doubts it, deeming it as out of character. He leaves the contestants’ room and heads out into the hall, almost immediately being swallowed up in the crowd.
And he actually walks right pass Silver before doubling back, eyebrows furrowed.] You dressed up. [He says plainly as he eyes the redhead. Clearing his throat, he shifts uncomfortably, not really expecting that.] You didn’t have to…
[But he smiles brightly anyways, appreciative for the effort displayed.] Thanks, though.

Training with Weavile is pretty easy, most notably because he doesn’t have to actually see Silver to do it. It makes whatever it is he’s doing - whatever he’s trying to recreate with Silver - a lot less taxing. And it makes training with Weavile a lot more fun, although, he admits, it would have been nice to know from the beginning how challenging Weavile could be when it felt like it wasn’t getting enough attention. But he could deal with that. And Rara doesn’t mind sharing.
Despite the type differences and Weavile’s originally dismissive attitude towards the psychic type, they’d come a long way in just a few weeks. He felt accomplished as he tugged down the sleeves of his costume. The color palette was a lot darker than what he was used to, but he felt it complimented the duo quite nicely in the end. And with a few hours until the contest, all he needed was for Silver to arrive with Weavile’s pokeball.
He’d already dolled Rara up and was going back in for secondary adjustments. Mostly something to make her eyes pop and to make sure that her coat would glisten beneath the bright lights. And a light, sparse brush of glitter because Rara liked the way it twinkled when she performed.
He smiles at her before checking the time. He didn’t want to rush the trainer but he wanted to have plenty of time to prepare.
