Karun Kaura - A Superb Media Advisor

A media strategist must know his work well and be prepared to highlight the right issues at the right time to benefit the client. Many media advisors today would not know for sure whether a particular issue should be highlighted or not and they might not even have the courage to launch an offensive specially against the Government. To call a spade a spade requires strength of character and to do it in such a manner so that it ends up benefitting your client is the sign of a smart media strategist

In the 2014 Punjab elections just such a media strategist came to the forefront in the political scenario. In those days of election campaigning, Congress leaders in the state were denied permission by the ruling opposition to land their choppers in many districts. The campaigning was being affected adversely for the Congress while the ruling opposition continued to use helicopters as per their convenience.

In this situation Mr Karun Kaura, a superb media advisor, used his skills to highlight this issue in print media. He made it clear that the denial of permission to Congress leaders for landing choppers on the excuse of dust or harm to farming actually had no valid basis. Thus the ruling opposition was forced to step back from its stance and finally gave permission to Congress

leadership to use choppers and the Congress was thus able to campaign effectively.

This indeed benefitted the Congress party immensely and was also a great achievement for Mr Kaura proving thoroughly his mettle as a media strategist par excellence.
