What If Newt’s Immune?

So, I saw this picture the other day, and a bunch of theories as to what it means, went into my mind. Now, I’m probably entirely wrong about this, but here’s a lovely theory that really hurts me. *Warning: Spoilers for Page 250*

In this picture, it’s clearly pointing to the fact that something is improperly treated with Newt right? Right. And I’m just gonna assume that this is the part in the movie (The Scorch Trials) where he’s given that shot. So, here’s a cruel, cruel thought. 

What if Wes decided to have Newt originally be immune, but have W.I.C.K.E.D ruin that and do something to him so that this “treatment” or whatever, wasn’t done properly, and so he ends up not immune anymore. 

I know that in the book this is entirely impossible, but seeing this from the movie perspective, it could be a possibility seeing as how much they changed about the Flare and the Cure and so on. 

What if he purposely changed Newt from an immune to a non immune, just so that when he eventually turns into a Crank, it hurts the viewers so much more, because then we’ll really know that Newt could’ve lived. He could’ve survived and wouldn’t have had to get shot by Thomas. But the fact that he was improperly treated, changed all that so that he dies. 

And that somehow hurts me a lot more than the book, when he was never immune to start with, because in that case we knew that he’d eventually die. If he’s originally immune in the movie, I’ll walk out of the theatre constantly thinking “Newt really could’ve lived.”

Thomas says he’s not planning on getting marry with Dylan even though Dylan has proposed to him several times, while Ki Hong also feels so sorry that he can’t marry with Dylan. (x)

I always wanted to think when Minho found out about Newt he would hug Thomas but tbh I don't think there could be a happy ending either way because despite Minho not beating the shit out of the Thomas their friendship will slowly crumble and maybe they'll rebuild it but it will never be the same and tbh newt left such a big hole in minhos heart and I'm in tears why can't these poor babies have a happy ending 33

okay so despite the fact of my favourite ever fictional character dying in the most cruel way possible (thank you James Dashner kudos to you:) I’ve always seen Newt’s death as a part of Minho’s fate

I mean, you just think about it. Minho’s been through literal hell with fire and pain and suffer and tears and he’s stood rock strong through all of that shit

and let’s just briefly mention that we have no idea about how he was coping with it all mentally (since he never showed it - maybe once, vaguely)

and after making it to Paradise, finally inhaling the so desired freedom, taking in what he achieved by fighting and not giving up, our brave little (not so little he’s only 17 goddamit) soldier got what he deserved - liberty and happiness

because Newt is dead. The only person Minho allowed himself to almost cry over, the only person Minho allowed himself be so evidently scared and worried about, the only person Minho has had since forever and wasn’t planning to lose - well, that only person was dead

shot by his own best friend and no it doesn’t matter how much Newt wanted it

godfuckingdamnit Minho has talked Newt through suicidal thoughts once, he could do it again

he could do with drugging Newt with bliss to extend the blonde’s life for a little longer, he could do with Newt occasionally acting cranky but staying with him for just a little longer - enough to at least say goodbye

he didn’t get anything

all he got was a stuttering Thomas, telling him that he shot Newt in the head

I have a sudden mighty need for a modern minewt thing, where Newt takes a cute selfie of himself in one of Minho’s oversized hoodies, doing the thing where the sleeve covers his hands, and he has one hand covering his mouth (I’m pretty sure you all know what I’m talking about), and he posts it on Instagram or something, and someone comments something inappropriate or something about how cute he is and Minho like flips shit, and is a jealous overprotective boyfriend

So maybe this is a newtmas scene?

So….Based on this post I just felt so worried. Then I watched this scene over and over again by importing it into photoshop…

Yeah, in this gif  the glader who got hit by a crank is Newt , telling from the colors of his cloth & the rope in his backpack. And the one who looked back to see what’s happening is Thomas. 

Then comes this scene…  First I thought it’s Newt who fell from the corridor, but then I realised it is not him. Seems like someone came to help Newt and kicked the crank off the corridor. See the guy in the bottom right corner in this gif, with a small bulb on his backpack strap?

IT IS NEWT. Definitely Newt ^ ^ . Also the colors of cloth and blond hair can confirm that.

And the one who came back to save Newt in the second gif… I think it’s Thomas. Based on the fact that in the first gif, it is Thomas who looked back to see what’s going on with Newt.^ ^
