I don’t understand why it’s bad that person got banned, it’s not allowed to make death threats against the CEO so they banned them, why is that some big controversy? I’m asking genuinely. I just randomly saw this on the tumblr trending I don’t have any other context

Okay, so there is a LOT of context to this.

For about a year now, Predstrogen has been targeted by terfs for a harrasment campaign. They mass flag her posts, and report her for every single thing that could be potentially seen as "out of line."

One post that got flagged as explicit was a transition timeline. Fully clothed, no skin but lower arm and face. It got marked as explicit material. Predstrogen had this disputed, and it was re-labed as SFW with public acknowledgedmemt from the websites moderation staff that this was a mistake, AND that there was a person in said moderation staff that had a personal transphobic agenda against Predstrogen.

I believe it was days after the posts and her blog was marked as all a-okay, that her transition timeline was once again marked as explicit. Keep in mind she's constantly dealing with people spreading false rumors around about her being a pedo and into incest (typical TERF dogwhistle lies).

The staff then decide, no, actually, this post IS explicit. And after a year of harrasment, constantly being false flagged, having the very staff of the website be provably against her, and a fresh wave of TERF propaganda coming up against her, she had a small break down and said that "she wishes photomatt would die in a car crash with perhaps a bunch of hammers in it that explode" (paraphrased) and then photomatt, who is the CEO of tumblr, decided that one thing was reason enough to ban her for life.

CEO of tumblr photomatt thought "i hope you die in a car crash filled with exlpoding hammers" was a serious death threat.

Predstrogen did nothing but get fed up with repeated incompetence by the staff and voice it in a meme like manner.

Injuries For Your Characters To Receive When You’re In The Mood For Angst (And How To Treat Them.)

A: A bite wound. (Wash the wound with soap and water, then cover the area with a bandage. Afterward your character will need medical care from a doctor to make sure that they aren’t going to get rabies or an infected bite area.) 

B: A sprained wrist. (Your character should ice the area and avoid activities that cause pain. It’s also important to compress the area with bandages (But not so much that it cuts off circulation!) and keep it elevated.) 

C: A stab wound to the stomach. (This is an emergency room visit because abdomens have a lot of vital organs. Just straight to the ER.) 

D: A concussion. (A concussion is brain trauma so your character really should be checked out by someone at the ER. Afterward they should take it mentally easy and possibly take pills for pain.) 

E: A black eye. (An ice pack on the swollen area should help.) 

F: A broken ankle. (Your character will probably need to go to the Doctor to get their leg splinted. After leaving the hospital they’ll need to take it easy on their foot until it’s healed.)

After a long day they’re burnt out, and finds their partner making dinner for them both

Refusing to leave because you can see past them, and knowing they’re sick

Pretending to be fine after a small incident, and their partner/friend asks them what’s wrong, which flips the switch and they can’t stop crying. And eventually tell their partner/friend about it

Soft whump scenario: A Whumpee that just can't get warm. Maybe they've been out in the cold too long, or maybe it's their fever, but either way, they're freezing. Their teeth chatter as they pile on blanket after blanket, the chill seeming to have seeped into their bones. Caretaker eventually comes home to find a shaking mound of blankets, and a shivering Whumpee beneath them. Caretaker feels Whumpee's forehead and tuts softly. They leave for a few minutes; when they come back, something warm is pressed into Whumpee's frozen fingers. A hot cup of tea, just the way Whumpee likes it. Whumpee sips at the tea as Caretaker tries to coax them out of their blanket pile and into their bed. Even in their bed, Whumpee is still cold. Caretaker does the last thing they know to do. They climb under the covers and wrap their arms around Whumpee. Finally, Caretaker hears a tell-tale sigh of relief- Whumpee is finally warming up.

Give your whumpee a "safety item". As long as they have it, you won't touch or hurt them. It may be a hassle to rip it away from them when it's time to punish them, but the relief when they get it back, that they're safe now, it's over, makes it so worth it.

the phrase "used to it" has me on my hands and knees. seriously, hear me out:

Whumpee saying "I'm used to it" in response to caretaker's concerns, minimizing their trauma and genuinely believing it wasn't a big deal since they mostly put up with it

"Why are you crying? You should be used to this by now."

Whumper telling caretaker a recaptured whumpee is "used to it" - referring to how scared / obedient / resilient they are - and caretaker's blood boiling because of it

how to write a character who suffers a PTSD from their past toxic relationship, how they can react / what they might say in certain situations

how they can react in certain situations

✘ avoid making eye contact, but will look up to meet caretaker’s eyes immediately if caretaker tells them to — for instance, caretaker is concerned about whumpee who keeps their gaze on the floor all the time; so, without thinking, caretaker says, “ look at me”. it doesn’t matter if they say it in a soft, comforting tone, they immediately regret it because whumpee quickly jerks their head up to meet caretaker’s eyes, fully thinking caretaker will hurt them if they don’t obey.

✘ whumpee is used to receiving orders. they don’t understand the concept of saying no and not being punished for it. so anything caretaker asks them to do (keyword; ask, whumpee can absolutely say no), whumpee will comply whether or not they want to (but they will do their best to make sure it looks like they want to).

✘ avoid staying in a crowded room or even an open space. whumpee will most likely seek comfort from some quiet corner where they’re away from anybody and nobody can bother them.

✘ an open space where there’s no one around can also bother whumpee, because it’s not just about being surrounded by a lot of people that’s triggering to whumpee. being alone in an open space can make whumpee feel extremely exposed, like an easy target.

✘ so mostly, whumpee will seek some quiet corner where they are alone and aren’t easily seen.

✘ they don’t like being the center of attention or being talked about. because this can also make them feel vulnerable, uncomfortable and exposed.

✘ physical touch that comes with no heads up, the ones that catch whumpee off guard, can result in a terrible reaction from whumpee, even if it’s an act of affection (a hug, a friendly pat on the shoulder, etc), because whumpee has already associated all kind of physical contact with pain and violence. so if someone touches them, they reflexively expect it to hurt.

✘ being jumpy in general. they may flinch away at any loud noise, any physical touch.

✘ lack of opinions in general. if they have to engage in a conversation where more than two people are talking about something, whumpee will remain quiet. not because they’re shy but because they 1.) think their opinions don’t matter 2.) are afraid they might say something wrong that’ll get them punished 3.) don’t want to risk speaking out of turn.

✘ whumpee expect themself to be punished if they make a mistake, doesn’t matter how small the mistake is — for instance, whumpee accident knocks over a glass of water, causing it to shatter, and immediately starts to panic, because they believe they will get punished for it.

✘ the rules whumper previously set for whumpee may still be effective for whumpee, even if they’re with caretaker now; whumpee still follows whimper’s rules because 1.) it’s an old habit 2.) they just want to stay safe.

✘ they can react poorly to food. whumpee may have no appetite at all, and can develop a wave of anxiety that can lead to nausea if they’re forced to eat. (this doesn’t mean caretaker is supposed to just let them starve though, only that it can be challenging and caretaker has to be very careful about how they approach this, how they handle the situation to help whumpee.)

✘ insomnia. whumpee having trouble sleeping at night, this can cause them to feel tired during daytime.

✘ “I don’t deserve this.” (on being shown kindness)
