I have just remembered I said I'd post those doodles lol

As you can see I was on my FFXIV-crossover kick at the time! Lizard Melia and Bunny Shulk, their true forms revealed...

I still have trouble drawing non-simplified stuff (like with actual eyes and noses and facial structure and all) but I rather like how this Melia turned out! :)

She's the most fun to draw for me, I love all the different shapes/arcs that make up her wings and bonnet and hair!!

There is also a bonus Bunny Shulk drawn by my boyfriend :)

this morning, I discovered that this kid in Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla is meant to be the kid from Hamtaro

so while GxM doesn't exist in any prior Godzilla timeline, it does exist in the Hamtaro universe, which to me implies that the sentient hamsters are some form of mutation as well, possibly irradiated by-

Heyo!! Sorry for being away for a while, been busy with classes and work (and volunteering too! just started, at an animal rescue place! ^^), plus my bf's sister's fast-approaching wedding, not to mention plans for moving in the hopefully-not-distant future... so I haven't had time for much else unfortunately!

However, I have not lost a single bit of love for and interest in any single one of my many projects!!! Even if only in my mind, they're still alive!!!

In fact I've wondered for a while if I should make my own website (a la the free-domain pristinely-organized fueled-purely-by-love-and-fandom sites I visited as a wee lass in the 90s) for these things rather than (or in addition to?) post on a social media site like it's a blog. Like tumblr is kind of a blog/social-media hybrid but... you get what I mean lol. Not the first place you'd look to find movie and board game reviews certainly. (Have I mentioned I wanted to write board game reviews before??? Idk it is almost 2:30 AM [and I need to leave for work at 6 I am a menace]). But I wouldn't abandon my tumblr even if I did make a site!! If for no other reason than because of the ask feature haha

Hey there!! Happy New Year! :)

Lately I've been feeling...

like shit

the past few weeks to be quite honest aha, but I'm still gonna keep trying!!! If nothing else, I've been trying to distract myself by delving back into the depths of my constantly growing Xenoblade Voice Line Project TM :)

(If you're curious, currently I am working on simultaneously 1. reviewing each and every voice line for all the bosses as well as 2. cataloging the order each of their lines are stored in their respective data beCAUSE the og ripper, bless their heart 1. missed a few files among some bosses in addition to accidentally overlooking Yaldabaoth and Face Nemesis* entirely, and 2. their program's naming convention ended up making the filenames, sorted alphabetically, sort into an entirely different order than they're actually stored in the data and I mayyyy have taken said order as gospel [because if you told naive past me I'd be digging into the game's Image file myself in the future and end up double-checking the ripper's work I'd... probably believe you honestly lmao] which means I have to reorganize the entirety of the Unused Boss Line tables as well as rewrite most if not all of my guesses for what I think said lines might have been meant for since I based both the tables and my hypotheses on said incorrect order.

I also made a reference excel sheet listing what characters all the kyp files and the brres-es and brsar-s within are for, which I finished data-entry-ing a while back and am now making it look nice as well as actually readable. Oh and I'm gonna rip all the NPC's little talking-to-them-in-the-overworld "Hello"-s and "Yes?"-s and upload them to the Sounds Resource along with everything else that got left out too :) Which speaking of!

*I actually ripped and uploaded these two's audio files back in July but they still haven't been posted yet haha. Not complaining in any way at all of course, there's so much for that team to sift through on there and it's all volunteer work and so extremely impressive how much they get done already! Just very interesting to see just how long it's been since I last worked on this dang thing, it feels like it was only a few months ago that I contacted an old TCRF member to help me figure out how to dig through the guts of this game I adore. And now it's 2024 already! Crazy...)

#aside #in finally getting all the bosses' audio files acts together (as well as my previous #organizing literally all of the cutscene audio jfc how did i do that actually) i even have a new hypothesis and it's a big one!! #long story later but i very highly suspect we were originally going to get a longer and/or additional face nemesis boss fight. #AND potentially may have fought (SPOILER ALERT) #xenoblade spoilers #xenoblade chronicles spoilers #mecha-fiora as possesed by meyneth outside of the mech!!!! #it's just a (very wish-fulfillment probably-untrue-but-how-cool-would-that-have-been) guess but. i mean. how COOL *WOULD* that have been???

"Minor QoL"/"Better UX with Similar UI" Site Skins I made for Ao3, with Light Mode and Dark Mode Versions!

They're not too different from the default appearance, just moving bits around and adding colors/borders/scroll boxes and such for better readability! Made with mobile in mind but they work on desktop as well! :)

In the spirit of encouraging people to comment on fanfics while also making it easier to do so, I feel obliged to share a browser extension for ao3 that has quite literally revolutionized the comment game for me.

I present to you: the floating ao3 comment box!

From what I've seen, a big problem for many people is that once you reach the comments at the bottom of a fic, your memory of it miraculously disappears. Anything you wanted to say is stuck ten paragraphs ago, and you barely remember what you thought while reading. This fixes that!

I'll give a little explanation on the features and how it works, but if you want to skip all that, here's the link.

The extension is visible as a small blue box in the upper left corner.

(Side note: The green colouring is not from the extension, that's me.)

If you click on it, you open a comment box window at the bottom of your screen but not at the bottom of the fic. I opened my own fic for demonstrative purposes.

The website also gives explanations on how exactly it functions, but I'll summarize regardless.

insert selection -> if you highlight a sentence in the fic it will be added in italics to the comment box

add to comment box -> once you're done writing your comment, you click this button and the entire thing will automatically copied to the ao3 comment box

delete -> self explanatory

on mulitchapter fics, you will be given the option to either add the comment to just the current chapter or the entire fic

The best part? You can simply close the window the same way you opened it and your progress will automatically be saved. So you can open it, comment on a paragraph, and then close it and keep reading without having the box in your face.

Comments are what keep writers going, and as both a writer and a reader, I think it's such an easy way of showing support and enthusiasm.

I have returned from Godzilla Minus One... and all I can say is

WOW

Well, "WOW" and also "please go see this movie it is so good I don't even want to say anything about it so you can experience it the way I did!!!!!"

...Okay I will add on a "if you've never seen the original 1954 film (which you can do for free, right now, officially from Toho even, on archive.org actually!) I very highly recommend doing so, not because Godzilla Minus One doesn't stand on its own as an amazing movie by itself, but because you'd get an extra layer of enjoyment on top by having seen the original film for reasons I again don't want to say anything about so that you can be as pleasantly surprised as I was when you go watch Godzilla Minus One which you absolutely should do and in IMAX, or whatever equivalent your theater has, if possible" :))))

I'm currently on my way to see the new Godzilla movie!! My boyfriend and I finished up the og era of films just in time to see it :) I'll see if I can write up my thoughts on them all (and finish watching the rest of them) sometime soon!!

On the FFXIV front, I've played at bit of Shulk, but I've mainly been speed-leveling Melia through ARR (because my boyfriend really wants the Eureka Orthos tiger mount, and the BLM aetherpool weapon looks just like Melia's FC staff I must acquire it, so I'd like to do runs with him using Melia!) and despite being very early game still I've already had many fun interactions with people :) Including bumping into someone else also RPing mid-dungeon (as Urianger haha) who actually talked to me(lia) in-character between bosses??!!?! I'm having SO much fun already I just have to transfer my screencaps over here sometime to share ^^

#aside #of course i'll upload my thoughts TM on it eventually but even if i didn't already have a whole backlog of other godzilla #reviews that should be posted first chronologically (not to mention the fact that i still have more to watch!!) but also i really don't want #to spoil a single thing about it at all. i went in only having seen the teaser and having heard nothing specific about it other than “it's #about wwii-era japan again finally“ and i'm SO glad i did!! #even writing my rec to watch the og film feels like i said too much but also you should watch it anyway even if you aren't planning to #see minus one i think haha #but yeah it's been like 7 hours since i saw minus one and i'm still in recovery #and i absolutely would go see it again 100% #deserves all the praise it's been getting and more
