Hey, bit rude to rush, but yes, I am.

Sorry about the delay. JSiAB has kind of fallen back due to IRL work coming first. I'll most likely resume posting sometime in May.

Expect a similar schedule in the coming years, I suppose? An askblog is a very long project.

Consider this a hiatus esque announcement.

Next post IS in the works, though. Main reason I didn't get it out earlier is because it's shaping up to be long and a little experimental.

Without going into spoilers...

Corruption manifests as an extremely heightened emotional state, where the Corrupted person in question will begin lashing out violently at both friend and foe alike. So far, pink is a visual indicator of Corruption.

Being Corrupted actively inhibits an individual's ability to think clearly, and intensifies their (usually negative) emotions beyond control. Un-corrupted individuals will remember everything that happened while Corrupted. It's not pleasant.

There are two main methods of Corruption - Infection and Distress. Infection is caused by significant damage from other Corrupted, whilst Distress is directly tied to emotional frustration. Cactae can only be Infected, and Shapes can only be corrupted by Distress - they will die if significantly damaged by Corrupted. Rhythms can be affected by both to a lesser degree.

While Corrupted, the natural power levels of a Player rises to "Combat Form" levels, roughly equal to one Power Triangle's worth of power that is going to be directed at everyone around them. Thus, Power Triangles and the Song of Purification are needed to neutralize Corruption.

Corruption is never permanent, as far as natural cases go. If an individual stays Corrupted for a long time, eventually their power levels will recede and manifest as a Corrupted Power Triangle. Corrupted Power Triangles act as "levels", forming a little pocket dimension full of traps and attacks within a certain area. Once the level is "cleared", the Power Triangle can be un-corrupted. Dealing with Corrupted Triangles is a dangerous job left to only the strongest Players.

Finally, nobody really knows why Corruption happens. It's just been part of life since Paradise existed, and a danger everyone's learned to live with.

Mini update!

Added Barracuda's information to the Character Masterpost, and fixed some old links.

That being said, updates will be slower for the next while. I want to say monthly at least, but I don't think I can even guarantee it. Got a lot of stuff going on out there, but I won't be killing this blog anytime soon!
