This is what’s left of the Temple Church, in Bristol’s Castle Park. It was heavily damaged by the Luftwaffe during their World War II bombing campaign.
Believe it or not, this park was once Bristol’s main shopping district.

Swatting is a disgraceful and cowardly act that should be met with significant prison time. People have already died as a result of hoax 911 calls - just look at Andrew Finch
8.12.20, Los Angeles
Another BLM organizer has been “swatted” this week. Dr. Melina Abdullah is targeted for co-founding Black Lives Matter organizing in LA. Someone reported a false kidnapping at her address in order to bring a police swat team to her home. No official release yet of the call, but Dr. Abdullah believes there was no call and this was a fear tactic by LAPD. The LA Times has reported on the call but without audio.

It’s scary how little UWE has evolved over the years. You can still tell today that it was once a crumbling polytechnic.

The city ain’t what it used to be, especially this year.
Bristol Docks 2018, Pentax MX, Kentmere 400
Bristol is a second home to me. With family in nearby Clevedon, I’ve grown up here just as much as my hometown in Suffolk. The amount Bristol offered me changed with age but never changed in vastness. From being a bright-eyed child at the balloon fest, to getting wrecked in some of the best city pubs in the country. Bristol oozes creativity and you can never lack inspiration there. I love this city!

Really wish I got to see this for myself. Unfortunately, I was working from home that day and couldn’t get into town.
Marc Quinn (1964)
“A Surge of Power (Jen Reid) 2020” (2020)
Black resin
Quinn’s statue was originally placed on the empty base where a 19th-century statue of Edward Colston-who’d been involved in the Atlantic slave trade-had been toppled, defaced, and pushed into the city’s harbour by George Floyd protesters in June, 2020. The statue was removed by Bristol City Council the day after it was installed, with Mayor of Bristol Marvin Rees stating that Quinn did not have permission to install the statue and that the future of the base would be decided by the people of Bristol.
Edited to add: the statue was put up by Quinn July 15, and removed July 16

Looks like it was taken near the waterfront in the centre. You can see Bambalan and the (formerly named) Colston Tower in the distance.
