"Oh right, I forgot," he said, feeling a little bad about bringing it up. He had really had his head in his ass for a while, hadn't he? "Hey, somtimes dumb is exactly what you need." He handed the flask back. "Tell me anyway."

"It's been a very long day," he said as he took the flask and took a swallow full. He rinsed his mouth out before spitting into the bushes. "You don't ever feel like anyone speaking to you makes you feel like you could snap and go feral?" He had been feeling very feral. It was a better now. "So what were you going to do? To cheer me up, I mean."

She was considering cursing him until he straightened and remembered his manners. "I find the city and those that live in it interesting," she replied, moving closer to him "It's been a few years since I've seen one of your kind." Possibly a few centuries. She never paid much attention to how time moved.

He's not going to stand here and pretend Dana Scully isn't a beautiful woman. It would be a lie and they would both know it. But he also knew she was going to be very embarrassed in the morning and it was his job as her friend to mitigate the damage as much as possible. "A snake huh? Good to know. Why don't you get some food in you?" Maybe if he didn't bring attention to the tattoo she would move on.

“Well then it’s good I wasn’t asking your age, isn’t it?” Oh she had definitely had more than 4. He was sure of that. How much more was up for debate but Scully wasn’t a lightweight. “Secret tattoo? If you tell me, it doesn’t count as a secret.”

"But you can't tell me what it is," Skinner pointed out. He wasn't trying to be rude but he could only work with what Mulder told him. And the other man wasn't telling him much. "Dark shape isn't much to go on. Where would we even start?"

“How does a shadow cause this much damage?” he murmured. “Okay, we say this was as car accident. We can make that work. As for the shadow…how can we go after something you can’t even see?”

"My name is Loki," he replied, following carefully behind her. "It's the first time anyone as said knowing my name was a pleasure."

He wasn't lost of course. Loki never went anywhere that he didn't know exactly where he was. He had planned to land exactly at this point. But that was currently irrelevant. What was relevant was the fact that there was a very pretty young woman in front of him offering to spend more time with him.

"As a matter of fact, I am," he said. "If you wouldn't mind helping me back to town I would be very grateful. This is such strange country I find myself in."
