my next semester of uni starts in about one week, so I’ve been preparing for my modules a bit, as well as organizing anything I have in paper such as my cheat sheets form past exams or printed course notes. I also got some books I ordered second hand, which I am very excited for. the past couple of weeks I have really gotten back into reading frequently.

I did a bit of forensic work and ignored the essay I have due in 3 weeks 🥲

I haven’t really been doing the best mentally so I’m taking it all one step at a time (studying enough to keep me from falling too far behind, but not enough to burn me out). Friendly reminder: there is no shame in prioritising your mental health!

And yes, my pen is shaped like a syringe (it used to have red liquid inside but it dried up :/)

I hate revising/revisiting a topic. I don't know about anyone else, but I constantly want to be learning something new. Going back to a topic feels so tedious. I'll try to get better at this skill.

2024.04.10 | Day 81/100 days of productivity

Slept in today and that extra sleep seems to have made all the difference to my mood and energy levels (who knew!). I'm hoping to get done with my decision analysis final essay either today or tomorrow so I can edit and move on to my research proposal for qualitative methods (and eventually get back to the research - which I actually enjoy (no offence to my professors)).

Today's goals:

Drink water (2/3)

Finish readings for tomorrow

Finish first draft of decision analysis final essay

Have a good formal dinner :)

Do at least 1 load of laundry

Get enough sleep

I passed all my finals and so my first year as a chemistry student is over :) This past semester was particularly difficult, but I genuinely did my best and I'm very happy and thankful I get to do this!

I spent the last week doing nothing and just resting, today I started preparing for my internship which I'm still both terrified of and excited about ahaha. I have a month of reading articles ahead of me and it'll inevitably fry my brain but I'm going to learn so much. And in two languages at that! So great

march recap

this month held a lot of milestones for me. i was accepted into a summer research program, attended my first academic conference, and after a year of health issues and time off i finally finished my first year at college.

it hasn't been easy - i'm still often reminded of how things were pre-covid and all of the stuff that's harder now than it was then - but i finally feel like i'm on the road to recovery.

i never thought i'd be this excited about officially being a sophomore, but here we are <3
