Bro they really are just throwing me out of class until the pledge of allegiance is over 😑. "I have to do my job as a teacher" explain how this is necessary? I assumed this was a very socially enforced ritual, but that implies it's an actual rule? Why would it be required to do the pledge of allegiance?? That's so weird. I thought it was just a lot of social pressure but that really does imply that it's an actual rule?

This is definitely better than how my ceramics teacher reacted. He's not being rude and I'm more than okay to hang out in the office till the poa is over. I felt uneasy sitting down while most others stood and some even spoke along with the pledge. I'm mostly just confused.

It was implied that this was a compromise, if I continue to not do the poa then I have to hang out in the office till it's over. But like, two other people in my class don't stand up? Additionally, I was still permitted to stay in the class during ceramics and yoga.

And my yoga teacher was so chill about it literally none of us stood. And my ceramics teacher was much more urgently trying to get me to stand. But neither of them mentioned it being a rule. My ceramics teacher was just saying how it was disrespectful and how it would affect the children of veterans. My yoga teacher didn't say anything.

Surely, this would have come up before, then? I'm just so confused.
