You were telling yourself not to panic, be calm, cool. You can do this! Just be yourse-

Your train of thought was cut short as you tripped on the sidewalk, barely catching yourself last second. The other day you had been asked out on a movie date by you crush!

Yeah, you were happy and excited and all that, but you were, rightfully so, nervous. You stood up properly and checked your phone. 8:15PM. You were supposed to be there 15 minutes ago!

You basically ran to the cinema a couple blocks down, a pit forming in your stomach as you saw a very uncomfortable looking hunter outside the cinema glancing around. You mentally slapped yourself and rushed over, apologising over and over "...and I lost track of time and-" he waved his hands Infront of your face, dismissing your apology.

"It's fine! It's okay! I just got here anyway!" He gave you a half smile, you could tell he lied but you nodded, not pushing any further.

"can we just- go inside?". He reached for your hand as you looked for the room you were supposed to be in, making butterflies erupt in your stomach, cliché I know, for a second you felt like you should pull your hand away but you forced yourself not to, instead letting your mind wander. You had let him pick the movie, so you didn't know what to expect.

After a couple minutes of waiting in your sits, your hands awkwardly touching, the lights inside the room finally dimmed and you focused your eyes on the screen.

Your jaw fell open as you saw the movie playing, it was one of your all time favourites! You had watched it so many times and never gotten bored of it. Forgetting the awkwardness moments prior you excitedly turned your head towards him, kind of scaring him.

"W-what-?!" He asked earning a couple of 'hushes' and 'shushes' from the people around you "You like this movie?" You asked, immediately regretting the question. He picked it! Of course he liked it! "Yeah- do you not?! We can always do something else-" "no no! It's actually one of my all time favourites, it's just. Not exactly too known that's why I'm surprised" you explained.

He quickly relaxed, squeezing your hand which you had forgotten was still in his "you scared me!" He whisper yelled this time "Sorry-?" He started at you for a couple of seconds before letting out a wheeze at how tense you looked suddenly.

So, he took it upon himself to help you relax, even though he was tense himself. Throughout the movie you talked about the plot, your favourite characters and even recited some of the lines along with the actors on screen. Laughing whenever someone shushed you.

Towards the end of the movie, you had noticed him turning to look at you quite frequently, your face was flushed red and you thanked whatever higher power was responsible for the darkness inside the room. "Hey.." you turned your head to look at him this time "yeah?" He leaned closer "You're red. Is everything okay?" Dammit. You took in a sharp breath "yep, just a little hot" you made up the stupidest excuse possible.

"yeah, you are." It was barely audible but you heard it, blinking at him repeatedly "wha- what?" "I'll tell you later" he motioned to the screen, turning to focus back on the movie that was mare seconds away from ending. Leaving you sitting there confused and flustered.

Walking out of the cinema you turned your head sharply towards him crossing your arms "Wanna tell me what that was?" He mimicked your actions "but your know what it was?" You narrowed your eyes "do I?" "Mhmmm" he gave you a toothy smile, basically melting you. How can someone he so cute?!

You were currently sitting on swings in a park, having lost track of time. You just sat there not swinging or anything you just rested your head on the chain, starting to once again feel awkward.

You felt someone standing behind you so you looked up, You saw Hunter standing over you, looking down at you "are you always this quiet?" "Maybe" you gave him a side smile, you've only been out for a couple of hours but you were starting to warm up to him even more than you already had.

He leaned down, a couple of inches away from your face "Maybe? What kind of answer is that?!" You bumped his shoulder and he laughed "ok no seriously, why are we so quiet?" Your eyes shone as you decide to have some fun "Oh? Well if that's the problem, WHY NOT BE LOUD?!" you asked raising your voice "Shhh, hey hey!" "WHAT?! I THOUGHT YOU DIDN'T WANT ME TO BE QUIET?!" "Yeah, not so loud tho!" You smiled satisfied with yourself "OH YEAH?! SORRY I DON'T REALISE" you noticed some windows light up across the street, making your eyes wide "Be quiet!" He warned playfully leaning closer "or what?" You asked not as loudly as you hoped.

Wanna take a guess on what happened next?

If you guessed a kiss, you'd be absolutely correct.

"or that" you tilted your head to the side still looking up at him from the swing you were sat on "I should be loud more often then?" "You can just ask, you know." You stood up and turned to him "can I have another one then?" "Good question. Can you?"now it was your turn to lean over, kissing him instead.

Well, that went better than you were expecting, not complaining or anything!

“The trainee who will join Zerobaseone in third place….”

You can’t breathe, the air stuck in your chest.

“The trainee who has finally achieved their dream of placing 3rd place in the final Top 9 is…”

Just say it already, dammit. 

“Seok Matthew!”

You’re cheering wildly along with the rest of the crowd as Matthew’s shocked expression is blown up on the big screen. As the other trainees surround him, he breaks down and you can’t help tearing up as well. 

You’re standing in the section reserved for family, a little bit removed from where Matthew’s mom and sister are. They had insisted you come stand with them but you knew how risky it was. Instead, you’re standing at the side, mask on, choosing to pass as one of the general family members or close friends of the trainees.

His sister turns to you, also teary-eyed and mouths “he did it!” You nod, practically choking back sobs and praying the cameras won’t catch you. 

“Trainee Seok Matthew, congratulations. Please come to the front.”

Matthew hugs his fellow trainees one last time before you watch him shuffle forward, still crying. You’re still crying. His mom and sister are still crying as they’re congratulated by the three aunties who you’ve learned are there for Ricky.

As he walks, he glances at the section you’re all standing in, eyes finding you. You manage to shoot a weak thumbs up before he reaches the stage.

“Trainee Seok Matthew captured the hearts of Star Creators from his entrance with his sweet smile.”

It’s not a surprise. He captured your heart first, long before the world got to see that sweet, sweet smile you fell in love with. Matthew was cute and charming and easy to fall for.

“Also his vocals stood out in every performance and helped create a perfect stage.”

But you knew his heart was big and his dreams were bigger. At some point, you were going to have to share him with the world. And you were okay with that. Because Matthew’s talent shines the brightest when he’s performing. You’d give him the world’s biggest stage if you could.

“Trainee Seok Matthew, I sincerely congratulate you for successfully debuting!”

Matthew bows, thanking the MC Hwang Minhyun before looking back at your section. As you subtly wave at him, his face only crumples as he tries to not to sob again. You’re no better, your mask soaked through with how hard you're crying.

Then, the MC says something that will be permanently burnt in your brain forever.

“Yes Canada oppa, Trainee Seok Matthew.”

Despite producing enough tears to create a small puddle, you can’t help but mirror Matthew, nearly doubling over in laughter at the sudden nickname. You’re laughing and crying, truly multitasking at its finest. It’s so perfectly in the moment that you almost don’t catch the second part of the MC’s question.

“How do you feel about achieving your dream of debuting?”

Oh but you’re so clowning him for it later. If he thinks he’s getting away with it, he better think twice.

“I…”

Matthew starts shakily and now you’re back to crying.

“Honestly, this feels like a dream right now. I’ve lost so much confidence recently.”

He’s worried to you over stolen phone calls. What if he failed? What if he didn’t debut? Should he look for a job? Go back to Canada? Thinking about that made you all the more emotional, you tried your best to reassure him but this was an industry that took so much of a person and sometimes left them a shell of themselves. It made them question who they were, what they were worth. It put some of them on a pedestal and let others fall, breaking them apart.

“But my hyungs always took care of me at the dorms and kept telling me that things will go well for me. I couldn't really believe them, but being able to be here now, I am so grateful. Also, the Masters have always encouraged me, so I am grateful to them as well.”

You were grateful for them too. To be there for him, to take care of him when you couldn’t. Your heart squeezed thinking about the months you spent apart, stealing every moment together that you could and shoving it into the recesses of your heart so that no one would take it away from you.

“I have chased this dream for two years. Now, to think that I can finally live my dream everyday, it really feels like a dream. So, I am so happy.”

Matthew was so wide-eyed and in wonder of everything back then. He still is, you think fondly. But there’s a maturity to him now that makes you so proud. He thanks his agency and the program’s staff before turning to your section again.

“My eomma and noona have also come today.”

You watch as his eyes go from them to you and he lets out another sob before apologising, addressing his mom. You can only watch, wishing that you could stand there and comfort her as well. But you love Matthew and this is his dream and you can’t ever bring yourself, for any reason, to take it away from him.

“Eomma, thank you so much for trusting me and letting me come to Korea. I’ve finally made it here, so I will do my best to become a loving and cool son whom you can be proud of.”

God, when will you stop crying?

“I just love you so much, Eomma. I missed you.” And you think he’s done but Matthew doesn’t even breathe. He's still looking at your section but his eyes are only on you as he repeats the sentiment in English.

“I love you and missed you so much.”

His sister shoots you a knowing look as Matthew goes on to thank the Star Creators and wraps up his speech. You wave her away while the cameras follow your boyfriend walking up the stairs. He’s hugging his other group members, so happy, so excited to finally be there.

And you can’t help but smile through your tears.

Because you know how much love Matthew has to give and these boys are incredibly lucky to be on the receiving end of it. You only hope that they’ll love him back. And you know they will, because it’s incredibly hard to not love Seok Matthew.

The first moment you get is backstage, away from the cameras. You’ve finally agreed to stand with his mom, holding his sister’s hand as you wait for Matthew to wrap up filming. When he walks through the door, all of you are trying your best to not devolve back into a crying mess. You step back, letting him take his time with his family, trying your best to compose yourself.

But by the time he’s in front of you, you can’t help but throw your arms around him. He’s practically holding you up, neither of you wanting to let go. Except you have to at some point. His arms loosen, still holding you but enough so you can face each other. Your lips tremble. You really should say something, anything to keep you from breaking down right in front of him.

“So Canada oppa, is it?”

There’s that smile you know and love.

“Ah really? Is that how you’re going to be?”

“I can’t help it,” you fall back into your easy, comfortable banter, playing with the lapels of his uniform jacket. “It’s iconic really, would be a shame if no one uses it.”

“I missed you.” He says, catching you off guard. “My baby did a lot of crying for me today. Your eyes are still so puffy.”

“You cried too.” You pout at him before letting yourself admit it. “And I really did miss you.”

Matthew looks around, checking for any cameras before he presses a quick kiss to your lips, hands sliding to your waist. This is your life now. He’s not an anonymous trainee anymore. You have to be more careful.

“They’ll give us a few days off before the next official schedule.” he murmurs to you like it’s some grand secret. It probably is, there’s definitely an NDA or two to be signed. “Let’s do something, just us.”

You let yourself smile.

“Okay Canada oppa, text me.”

“You’re really not going to let this go, are you babe?”

“I’m changing your contact name as soon as I get that text.”

You know from now on that it’s not going to be easy for the two of you. But Seok Matthew is easy to love and he chooses to love you. You will get through this.

He said he also was sorry and didn't mean to bump in to you. When he got back to his own friends he started to tell them about how pretty you looked. And that he hoped to see you again soon.

Eden ->

When he saw you doing a kpop random dance in the street. He thought that you could dance supper good. He knew that he wanted to approach you. But he was to shy to do so. Once he finally got the courage to do so it turned out that you were supper nice.

Winnie ->

You were just sitting in the library when he first saw you. And he thought you looked cute so he decided to approach you. You were just peacefully reading a book. When suddenly you had a boy tap your shoulder. He handed you a note. "You look cute wanna hang out" you nodded at him and that's how it al started.

You were also a K-pop idol. You were backstage eating to start. When someone came up to you. Turns out he was a big fan of your kpop group. He asked if you could do a TikTok trend after your done. And you accepted. So you stared filming together and it was really nice. You felt that he was genuinely nice and didn't have a fake personality. You became good friends and later maybe more.

Joohyoung ->

You were at the dentist to get your braces out. He was also there sitting and waiting for the same thing. He saw how nervous you looked. And he decided to help you calm down by talking to you. After you were done you waited for him. He asked if you wanted to do something together. So you ended up going to a restaurant and a movie.

Jiho ->

You were a fan of his bothers group blitzers. You were at a fan sign and Jiho was also there to support his brother. You were in front of him at the line. Two Trainees Canoodling!

wc: 1.1k warnings: just lots of fluff pronouns: none used; n/a -- reader is a trainee at boys planet, but it's just a story so you can pretend that any gender can participate and it doesn't affect the plot in any way! summary: woongki needs to tell everyone he knows that he just caught haruto and trainee!reader sharing a bed ~masterlist~ ♡ ~kofi (no pressure at all)~ this was a request! i miss you haruto, you're going to do great things very soon. a bunch of trainees (woongki, anthonny, jeonghyeon, taerae, seowon and phanbin) make fun little cameos in this so i hope you enjoy some comedic interactions between the boys. i haven't watched the commentary episode yet, i hope its on viki tomorrow with subtitles? it sounds like they all get along so well though which makes me so, so happy!

Every part of your body aches as you lie in bed with your boyfriend. You're grateful even for just a moment of peace tonight, the weight of the world on your shoulders as you continue running your choreography in your head even now.

Haruto brushes your hair from your eyes, tucking it behind your ear lovingly. "You need a haircut," he says with a laugh, causing you to bury your face into his sweatshirt.

"I know," you mumble, a wave of exhaustion finally hitting you. Your eyes close gradually, melatonin kicking in as you drift off to sleep in Haruto's arms after a grueling sixteen hour day of straight practice. You're not sure how long you've been asleep when you suddenly hear a shriek that has you jolting upright in your twin bed.

"OH MY GOD!" You hear from the foot of the bed. "OH MY ACTUAL GOD!"

Your sleep-filled eyes strain to see in the dark who the voice belongs to until you finally rub them clear.

"Oh my god, are you guys, like, a thing!?" Woongki exclaims, clapping his hands together and jumping up and down excitedly. "I love love! Why didn't you tell me!?"

Haruto huffs in exhaustion next to you. "Were we supposed to?"

"Um, DUH!" Woongki stops jumping, pouting at the both of you. "How else was I supposed to be able to run around and tell literally everyone I run into?"

"Woongki, wait!" You attempt to stop your overly excitable friend, but he's out the door before you can plead your case.

You sigh, rolling out of bed reluctantly. You walk over to the mirror, smoothing your hair down so it looks almost presentable enough for whatever early morning hour it could possibly be.

"Do I have to go too?" Haruto groans, already curling back up under the blanket and closing his eyes.

"Go back to sleep," you reply, shaking your head at the adorable lug in front of you. "Not like you were gonna get up even if I asked."

You rush through your door and out into the hallway, following the distant shrill shrieking coming from the next corridor. Turning the corner, you spot a wild Woongki at the end of the hall hopping about and waving his arms dramatically.

“THEY’RE DATING,” Woongki exclaims, putting one hand up to signal for the small crowd that has gathered around him to wait for more. “… EACH OTHER!”

“Well, yeah, that’s what we figured you meant,” Seo Won responds annoyedly, squinting through lidded eyes. “Why would you drag us all out of bed at three in the morning to publicly announce that they're dating two random people?"

“Ssssh!” Woongki hisses, putting a finger to Seo Won’s lips to silence his backtalk. Suddenly his eyebrows furrow in suspicion. “Wait, why aren’t you guys freaking out? Like, not even a little bit?”

“Because they already know,” you say with a laugh, joining the small crowd that he's forced to form around him.

Woongki’s jaw drops before a sad pout forms on his lips. “What? What do you mean?"”

Park Hanbin crosses his arms across his chest as he rolls his eyes at Woongki. “Yeah, I hate to break it to you, but… I think everyone knew except you.”

Woongki gasps. “WHAT!? That’s impossible… I make it a priority to insert myself in everyone here's business. How could this have slipped by me!?”

“(Y/N) and Haruto are literally attached at the hip. We can’t even separate them during practice,” Anthonny says, glaring at you.

You smile apologetically. “We’re working on it.”

“Sure you are,” Jeonghyeon mumbles. “That’s exactly what you said when we were rehearsing for Star Level Tests.”

“They are pretty cute though,” Taerae chimes in, glasses sitting crooked on his face. “I mean, they're totally disgusting. But if they weren’t, they would be pretty cute.”

“I can’t believe I’m the only one who didn’t know about this,” Woongki says sadly, his head hanging in shame. “I wanted to tell everyone so bad. Now I just feel really left out.”

Woongki suddenly appears so depressed that you can't help but feel the need to remedy it. Biting your lip as you think, you clap your hands as a solution comes to you. “How about… you tell them again and everyone pretends they don’t know this time! Would that make you feel better, Woongki?”

He looks up at you, eyes wide and bright again as a small, mischievous smile dances on his lips. “Really?”

“Yeah, really?” Anthonny asks, one eyebrow raised in a doubtful expression.

“Uh,” you stutter, shrugging. “Yeah, sure. Why not? If it will make Woongki go back to bed.”

“It will,” Woongki agrees, nodding rapidly. “Probably.”

You sigh. “Alright, go on then.”

Woongki closes his eyes, exhaling dramatically as he prepares his scene once more. When he’s ready, he resumes his bouncing up and down and flailing about endearingly. “GUYS! GUYS YOU’LL NEVER GUESS WHAT I JUST SAW!”

“What did you see?” Hanbin responds in a monotone, yawning into his hand.

“TWO TRAINEES CANOODLING!!” He shouts, clapping happily.

“We were not canoodling,” you interject, to which Woongki shoots you a look. You sigh, sucking it up and letting him finish his spiel.

“You’ll never guess who— okay, fine, I'll tell you; no need to get so worked up!” Woongki looks over his audience, attempting to build suspense. “IT WAS (Y/N) AND HARUTO!”

The crowd is deafeningly silent, except for Taerae who has started snoring whilst still standing up.

“You guys are no fun,” Woongki mumbles sadly.

“Can we go back to bed now? It’s 3 in the morning,” Seo Won pouts, rubbing his eyes sleepily.

Woongki sighs exasperatedly. “Fine. Library closed.”

The small crowd groans in relief, dispersing back to their rooms to sleep for another three hours. You pat Woongki on the shoulder in an attempt to comfort him.

“I’m sorry, buddy,” you console, watching his eyes suddenly grow wider.

“I’m not,” you hear a familiar voice counter, a set of tan arms wrapping around you from behind. “Serves him right for walking into a G Group dorm uninvited.”

Woongki grimaces. “I’ll knock next time.”

“No you won’t,” both you and Haruto answer in tandem.

“Whatever,” your friend mutters, storming off to his room as you watch him curiously— Haruto’s chin resting on your shoulder.

“How did it go?” Your boyfriend asks.

“Exactly how you’d expect it to go,” you reply, turning around to face Haruto. “You looked so comfy though. Why didn't you go back to sleep?”

"Duh," he drawls, smiling drowsily as he takes your hand and pulls you back in the direction of his room:

“Because I can't sleep without you."

Rant destroying the phrase "he talked one octave lower"

okay I gotta confess something- my biggest fanfic and books pet peeve is when they say their voice goes an octave (even worse if it's more than one octave) lower or higher, HAVE Y'ALL TRIED IT?! I mean talking one octave low doesn't seem that bad (even though I've tried going one octave lower than my talking voice and it's impossible for me to talk like that) BUT WHEN THEY SAY THAT SOMEONE'S VOICE IS LIKE THREE OCTAVES LOWER- bro- no 😭😭😭 Like just to put it into perspective 😍😍 let's say that someone (like me) talks around G3 (G/Sol is the note, 3 is the octave it plays) If I were to talk three octaves lower I would talk in G0, fine right 😍😍 WELL NO BECAUSE NOT EVEN A GUITAR BASS GOES THAT LOW😭

Telling you why down below 😘

To put it into kpop perspective. If I were to talk one octave lower, I would be talking into stray kid's Felix deep voice range. AND if I were to talk three octaves lower I would be talking two octaves lower than Felix's deep voice. Talk about talking like a demon.

(plus if Felix's were to talk three octaves lower , that's the example that made me write this, he would be talking around the octave -1 and the octave 0, which is ✨😍not possible😍✨)

Let's talk higher now, since I've also seen some examples. Going back to me, I talk around G3, if I were to go one octave higher that would be on my singing range, for example Violeta by Iz*one is in G major so to give an approximate idea on how high it would be, I would be talking in the range where they sing most of the pre-chorus (fun fact the "violeta" that goes to the chorus the "vio" part is in G4, the things you learn when you want to prove a point)

I can talk in that voice, sure, but let's look the three octaves higher 😍 Remember, my talking voice: around G3. Singing: can go to G4. But how does G6 sound like? 😱😍🤟

Remember playing in those kid pianos that are kinda big and you feel like a piano master playing random keys. Just me? Or remember those electric pianos that your music teacher, if you had one, had that you always wanted to just play one note for the funzies? Those pianos are usually between two kinds, a 49 key piano and a 61 key piano.

What octaves does each piano has? Well a 49 key piano has a range between C2 to C6. While a 61 key piano has a range between C2 to C7. (we're going to ignore the fact that the lowest note, the one you played at the end that sounded so deep after playing each note is higher then my three-octaves-lower-voice) So basically, my now three octaves higher voice would be that annoying note at the end of a 49 key piano that sounds so high you wanna punch someone (totally not bcs I'm autistic and hate high pitch noises)

Again, kpop perspective. Ateez's Junho high note in wonderland (the end high part on kingdom) is a B5... A B... FIVE, I would be talking 5 tones HIGHER than that. WJSN's Yeonjung hits a G5 in secret, so does Chuu in hi high, both just one octave lower than G6.

I looked up the highest kpop high notes, as of 2018-03-17 a video made by DareDB KPop Classic gave some examples of the highest notes sung by a female kpop idol, there are some examples on the G6, but it's mostly just trying to hit the note not holding it for a little. However I discovered something 😍😍😍 Shannon in masked singer hits a G6 singing to Mariah Carey's song "Emotions"

While I know and acknowledge that this is usually written from a place of either exaggeration, metaphor, or not knowing how much that is, I'm just a little shit who likes to question everything and hate on small things😘 You do you while I do I, I'll keep writing "their voice got lower" while you'll keep writing a thing that's not realistic/hj😘😘
