Y'all I'm tired

To preface this is a MULTIFANDOM problem so MULTIPLE fandoms are going to be tagged. I've seen this happening too much and it's on both sides of the alley so don't think "your side" is exempt from this. I'm not here to take sides on the petty argument of the week so keep that off of this post.

The point of fandom is DISCOURSE, people aren't going to enjoy things the same way you are. Differing interpretations of media is NORMAL. Throwing around derogatory and shitty statements about others doesn't make your point more correct.

People can still enjoy content and have genuine critiques on the content itself or the fandom surrounding it. Yes, I include fandom critiques because with the amount of petty drama and insults that get thrown around over opinions that shouldn't matter make fandoms very hostile environments to be part of.

It makes me so sad when I'm just trying to enjoy myself in a fandom space (whether that be a critical space or a genuine fan space) and the only thing I see are people freaking out and writing long form essays (hypocritical I know) over what Joe Schmo had to say about some aspect of XYZ.

Now don't get me wrong, there is a difference between critique and bullying. No one should be forced to tolerate bullying and there should never be space for bullying, but please please LEARN THE DIFFERENCE. It's exhausting to see people flip their lids and call someone a bully over simple phrasing of a differing opinion.

People who defend their posts calling someone out for critique often like to use the phrase "if you don't like what you're seeing, don't look at it" or "just block them!" Y'all should take your own advice too. There is merit to creating specific tags for certain forms of discourse so you don't have to see as much of it. I try to keep my critiques of content to the specified critical tags, if you don't see specified tags it may be worth it to create some!

To be clear, it's ok to have feelings about specific aspects of content and fandom. It's ok to voice your opinion on those things. It's not ok to go around bullying others and making people feel unwelcome in the fandom space because of minute and frankly petty reasonings. Also just because you personally don't see it happening, doesn't mean that it doesn't exist and therefore isn't a problem.

Do your part and make your fandom a better place, love each other and if you don't like what you see, either engage respectfully or keep scrolling. It's not the end of the world at the end of the day. <3

So many FEELZ in this week's Lore Olympus!

As we've known for a while, Kronos is holding Melinoe captive for his purposes. He says that if she helps him, then she can go home.

But let's be honest with ourselves here--- can we really believe he would keep that promise?

Melinoe explains what she knows of her abilities.

"Magic of the mind" definitely plays into her powers in the original Greek mythology. In the Orphic Hymns, she was the goddess of nightmares and madness.

She goes on to regale that she mostly used her powers to help with the shades. Unfortunately, under Kronos' orders, she's forced to use them to mentally harm others. Using the insecurities of others against them upsets her.

Love seeing Hecate in an educative auntie kind of role!

"I've only just met you, and I love you."

This is heartbreaking. Even if Kronos wasn't physically hurting Melinoe, he was still crushing her mentally and emotionally. It's the same kind of torture Hades endured while devoured, and that's ON TOP OF the physical abuse.

This moment is ESPECIALLY important!

Hades is putting his heart and soul into telling Melinoe that Kronos' horrible deeds are not her burden to bear. She should NEVER fault herself for things beyond her control, including what Kronos makes her do.

In the same breath, Hades realizes that these are the words that HE needed to hear himself. Even though he looks much like Kronos, he is NOT Kronos. He is VERY against using Persephone's fertility goddess powers, even on accident. Hades is VERY determined NOT to be his father.

Melinoe asks if Hades wants to see "Nana," and in the next moment, Rhea appears. Much like Melinoe, Rhea was pulled from her place in the past.

Her and Hades have a tearful reunion. Hades voices his worries about abusing Persephone's powers, and Rhea reassures him that love will prevent him from destroying her.

"And Father loved you too..."

It's a crucial point to raise. Yes, there was love between Kronos and Rhea, but Kronos ultimately loved power more, and it made him dangerous.

As Kronos approaches, Rhea reminds him of the importance of REAL love and fades away.

This is it.....looks like it's down to Hera and Hades vs Kronos.

Persephone and Dionysos have been returned to the Mortal Realm.

Will Melinoe be able to help from the sidelines? Where is Morpheus?

Jacob is pansexual and he doesn't discriminate against whoever it is he has a crush on cis, trans, and he doesn't mind. As long as you give him some form of respect, he'd be delusional enough to love you forever without question

Jacob is a very, very touch starved outcast and would do anything for cuddles, he's the big spoon type, clinging onto you and not letting you out of his grasp for a second thought throughout the night.

Jacob enjoys sharing his interests with you. So much so that he'd actively try and get you into them and help you understand his quirks.

Jacob canonically takes it up the ass sometimes /hj

He'd definitely nap and cuddle with you laying on his barren chest on warm days and would hold you tightly to his chest, he wouldn't care how sweaty you both got— he's a sucker for skin to skin contact.

His waist down to his thighs are sensitive to touch. He'd probably whine a little if you caressed him there—

He'd defend you beyond anything, so much so to the point he'd raise his voice and swear at the person harrassing you. He's insanely protective of you, and as cliché as it is, he would stand up and fight if it means you'd be alright.

He's very gentle with you in general. He'd be the absolute perfect boyfriend to have if it wasn't for how much his obsession of you overtakes him. He gets too carried away and holds himself back and feels immense guilt for the intrusive thoughts he has about you and the people around you.

You could say he's also jealous of you in a way, but it's a subconscious thing, really. He wants you to love him, love him enough that it'll "fix" him and his bad habits. He's jealous of how happy and 'normal' you seem to be, and he craves that sense of normality in his own life without being shut out from others around him anymore. He finds you to be perfect and nothing less than that.

He'd be kinda controlling over what you wear most of the time but he'd just appear agitated is all, he wouldn't force you to change unless he was feeling really insecure that you were wearing something too provocative.

He'd come up behind you while you are doing some sort of mundane task and hug you from behind while whispering everything he loves about you in your ear.

Jacob is the type to grind up against you while cuddling yk— with permission from you first, of course

Ever since he met you, he couldn't stop daydreaming about you to the point it affected his focus in work while he imagined all the ways he could make you his.
