I think the "you don't love yourself" "you don't feel worthy" type shit needs to be retired. It's for sure true for some people, but it is absolutely not true for everyone.
And the number of times someone has tried to convince me that I'm secretly and unbeknownst to myself insecure because of various issues caused by my mental health has become kinda exhausting.
"You don't think you deserve such and such thing" I absolutely do think I deserve that.
Got told today that I’m being a bad minority citizen cause I refuse to educate ignorant white people claiming to be allies to the queer and BIPOC communities.
If you really give a shit then educate yourself. Google is a thing — type in some words and start reading.
Its not the responsibility of the oppressed to educate our oppressors.
And you don’t deserve a gold star for going,
“Oh, no — I did bad.”
You wanna be an ally then stop talking over queer and BIPOC people’s trauma.
Stop telling us how we should feel about our trauma.
Fucking listen and stop doing harmful shit after we say that its harmful.
Stop expecting us to perform emotional labor for you cause you can’t be bothered to read the reviews of a book to figure out if its pure bullshit or not.
we live in this weird culture where most people are so obsessed with airing every single trauma and mental health issue they have to the point that if you’re private about certain things people assume you have no issues or struggle lmao like ok
i wrote a post where i explained that black women & girls will feel a need to identify as non-binary bc of the relationship we have to misogyny due to our race & the responses i got were:
dissmissed the fact that race is a big part of why some black women & girls choose to be non-binary & made it an "all women & girls experience this."
black women & girls who choose to identify as non-binary are perpetrating the same stereotypes that racists say about black women & girls. that they are proving them right.
said that lesbian women are also seen as "lesser women." i understand that but it's not exactly the same. people can usually see race, not sexuality at the end of the day.
the lack of empathy from some of the responses in general. do black women & girls & other women & girls of colour not get a chance to disscuss why race can be a big part in why some might choose to be non-binary? but if a white woman is being racist, i'm supposed to bend over & give her sympathy bc she's a woman like me when she hasn't & will not do the same for me?
anyways, i'll conclude this by saying that some white radfems in this space need to listen more when women of colour are speaking. ask questions instead if you're confused. don't try to interpret what i'm trying to say when it's clear that you don't really understand what i'm saying.
could have gone with a term like "racist crocodile tears" but went with "white women tears" and now everyone (predictably) just uses it to mean the tears of a white woman. what can we learn from this
Pornography, plastic surgery, the sexualization of girl children, illiteracy, the wage gap, fashion, makeup, being barred from education, being barred from holding a job, being barred from spending money, being barred from controlling your own body, being barred from medical care, being taught that your only purpose in life is to serve men all of it that is all female oppression it happens to females in order to keep them oppressed and controlled by men and it works.
Has nothing to do with the fact that infertile women exist and everything to do with the fact that we live in a misogynistic patriarchal world. Women are seen as inherently inferior to men and have been subjugated for men’s pleasure and desire for thousands of years all based on their extremely obvious anatomical differences
white men are allowed to regurgitate radical feminist talking points on national platforms with no fear of retaliation, while women are threatened, abused, and shunned for not falling in line with misogynistic liberal ideologies
