i can't lie to you i loveee bad endings sometimes. what if nothing worked out. what if the characters gave into their worst instincts. what if they became worse. what if there's truly no hope left. what will they do out of desperation? who will they become as their worst selves?

Nagisa and Karma's relationship is so funny. Karma is introduced as this big scary threat, totally a cruel asshole and then Nagisa is like, "Oh, hi Karma! :)"
Of course, Nagisa is just as much of a terrifying menace, he's just new to it at that point in the season because he hasn't had much reason to be a danger.

it’s soooo interesting how dick graysons oversexualisation coincides with the retcon that he’s now a romani man — a demographic that has always been oversexualised and dehumanised. it’s soooo crazy the thrice survivor of sexual assault keeps getting ugly covers all about his ass. its wiiiiild how bruce wayne— a character whose alter ego is purposely sexualised — is never treated this way. damn, can’t imagine why

That being said, dear gd, the rape jokes are not funny and the lady teacher with the big tits kissing Nagasaki was uncomfortable as hell. That's a whole ass child. I feel like it's a trope in anime where there's an aggressively flirty teacher, like, there's this lady and Midnight in BNHA... okay, that's only two examples, but I'm sure there's others.
Then again, I've seen similar things in American media too.
Assassination Classroom is so funny because the themes are really wholesome, like, the author clearly has an ax to grind with an education system that gives up on anyone and you absolutely see that in every episode/chapter, but the situation is just so batshit and Koro-sensei is just so ~shaped~. It's got a lot of heart, and also a lot of, wait, what the fuck.

I’ve heard absolutely zero “Christian Seder” nonsense this year. And while I’m sure it’s still happening to some degree, I think it’s pretty obvious what happened. Doing a “Christian Seder” last year meant that Jews would call you out for cultural appropriation. But you could just ignore that— everybody ignores Jews on the internet anyway.
Doing it now means that you could get called a Zionist and get cancelled, doxxed, or hatecrimed. It’s not worth the risk to steal from us anymore. Jews get called genocidal fascists for the high crime of celebrating our holidays. Judaism is seen as a social and cultural poison, and nobody wants to steal poisoned fruit.

The independent bookstore preparing to open in my corner of the Boston area is sharing fundraisers for the idiot Columbia kids on Instagram. The fiber arts group I'm a member of sharing memes about those dirty zionists. The comic artist I support on Patreon is having a whole lot of fun with Holocaust inversion rhetoric. The roar is getting so loud in every single alt-y, arty, left-ish, intellectual scene. I rely on Jewish community, I seek out other Jews to share these interests. But it's impossible to ignore that these are becoming my only options. It's like we're being excommunicated.....from these communities that we've fucking bled for, for decades.
Yes. The institutions and norms of American progressive and artistic life were founded or led or strongly influenced by Jewish creativity and philanthropy, and we are increasingly being purged from them as Palestine settler-colonizes Every. Single. Issue. The 2015 movie "Selma" showed Martin Luther King Jr. meeting with white Christian religious leaders but erased all Jewish involvement, erased Rabbi Heschel. The arts, the museum world, the comics industry, even Hollywood... we built these movements and industries, and we're suddenly not good enough to be included anymore.
