Video #13: Discussing the Break-In With Kay and Murphy
I had a chance to connect with Kay and Murphy about the events of three weeks ago (I was thinking it was only two - amazing how time flies). For the record, I haven't listened to the tape yet, or tried out the black light or lemon juice tricks on House of Leaves as discussed in the video. I will keep you all posted when I do!

No new video yet but pictures of the items left on my porch that night those weeks back. Hoping to finally listen to the tape this coming week.
[Image description: The first photo is of a copy of the novel House of Leaves. The second is of a tape, which has “WE’RE NOT FINISHED” inscribed on the front of the sleeve. The third is of the side of the sleeve, which says, “Sepulchral Tape Two (?)”]

I’m really shaken. I don’t know what’s happening here. I hope this isn’t all starting up again.

I mentioned this on Twitter but just to keep all forms of social media updated, I got an email from Azrael saying that I should consider investing in a video camera. It’s starting to look like @murphyescapes and @kayvalier may have been right that I’ll be needing to travel to some of the locations in the photos from the first box.
Still nothing else in terms of box two but given the wait with box one, I’m not surprised that it’s been a few weeks. Still, this email makes me think that the next box - or at least next part of the Sepulchral experience - may require some level of travel.

[Image descriptions: All are photos. First one is the image of a rest stop sign in New York with mountains in the background. The second one is of a street sign called Asylum Ave that has a been taken from the front seat of a car. The third a coffee mug that says Bartleby’s of Mystic, CT. The fourth is of a menu for The Friendly Toast that has a Pac Man like design on it. The fifth is of two beds in a hotel room with what looks like a map on the walls. The sixth is of a pair of purple Converse All-Stars, resting on the dashboard of a car, with an exit sign in the background. The seventh is a tree that has markings in it; the markings are hard to describe. The eight is of a table in the midst of a series of columns. There are empty chairs around it.]
Managed to get in the phone. Won’t share how, seeing as others might get the box too and I wouldn’t want to solve the puzzle for anyone. On the phone were these pictures. There were also several names and numbers in the contacts. Otherwise, it was pretty bare.
I’ll be talking with Kay and Murphy soon. Maybe we’ll get to solve some of these puzzles!

[Image Description: Text from screen capped Reddit board with the name r/ObscureEscapes/Sepulchral. The first one is dated 2 years ago instead of a date and is by user escaperooms4life and is titled, “I’ve been following a post” while the post says, “I’ve been following a post on obscure escape rooms and a post recently said that they were going to Sepulchral. Ever since they made the post, they stopped posting. Should I be worried about them? I mean, I don’t even know who they are but… something about it was disconcerting.” There are 5 comments beneath.
The second image is a comment from skepticism4life and is also dated 2 years ago and says, “It’s just a publicity stunt, obviously. They probably made the account after they went to the escape room and set that up so that we’d all be wondering what happened to them. The entire escape room is based on a mythology they’re creating. Obviously they want to make us think that people go there and disappear.” This is followed by a comment from escaperooms4life and says, “But they’d been posting for years before they posted about Sepulchral. This wasn’t their first post. They’re been super active, posting multiple times a day and throughout the day on a variety of subreddits, from ones about escape rooms, to ones about horror movies, to ones focused on the LGBTQA community, and now they’re just silent. It’s weird.”
The third image is a response to this comment by skepticism4life, once again dated 2 years ago, and says, “Okay, so that ruins that first hypothesis but it doesn’t ruin a second one – that that is still something they agreed to do with the escape room. Sure, it’s unfortunate to have to stop posting on a main account, but if it ups the ante, why not? It’s probably some part of Sepulchral’s informed consent policy or something. That if you’ve posted about the escape room, you have to go dark on your profile so that everyone wonders what happened to you. I’m sure it’s nothing to worry about.” Then escaperooms4life responds with, “But I haven’t seen any other posts about Sepulchral on here. If it were that common, wouldn’t this have happened before?”
Then the fourth and final image is a comment to the original post by a user named misternobody, once again dated 2 years ago, and saying, “Seriously, OP. I was looking through that post and I’m not sure what about it seems weird. There’s nothing that makes me think anything bad happened to that person.” Then escaperooms4life responds with, “It just feels weird. I don’t know why. It’s just like something not lining up. Or that feeling of the hair on the back of your neck standing on end when you’re alone but you’re convinced someone is watching you.” Then misternobody responds with, “Seems like you’re trying to write your own ghost story, OP. If that’s not the case, just chill. This is a fake ghost story. An urban legend. A real life example of someone’s attempt to make a creepypasta or do some advertising, ala The Blair Witch Project. Remember how everyone thought that shit was real at the time? It’s nothing to worry about.”]
Once again, I have so many questions because this is on a subreddit about Sepulchral but escaperooms4life says they haven’t seen any other posts about Sepulchral on here. So… what is this subreddit for, if not to discuss Sepulchral?
If anyone has any ideas about the code for the phone, let me know. I’m feeling pretty stuck on that right now.

[Image Description: Text from screen capped Reddit board with the name r/ObscureEscapes. The first one is dated 10/1/2018 and is by user suspirorium and is titled, “I was at a rest stop tonight” while the post says, “I was at a rest stop tonight and saw something carved into a table about an escape room called Sepulchral, supposedly in (REDACTED)? Has anyone heard of this? Is this legit?” There are 16 comments beneath.
The second image is also from 10/1/2018 and says “Sort by best” at the top and then is a comment by escaperooms4life and says, “I’ve heard of it but I don’t think it was in (REDACTED). I thought it was in the Midwest.” This is followed by a comment from escaperoomjunkie and says, “I’ve heard that it’s a traveling room. Sometimes it’s on the east coast, sometimes it’s in the Pacific Northwest, and sometimes in the middle areas. That’s awesome that you found it – hopefully it’s still in the area when you call. You’re going to call right? That’s a once in a lifetime experience.”
The third image is also dated 10/1/2018 and is another series of comments with the first from 69dicks420 who says, “I’ve heard that it’s not that it travels, it’s that it gets run out of town and goes into hiding so that no one can sue them for the shit they got up to in the last place. That’s why it’s always somewhere new and why there’s no website or anything like that. The second user who comments is terrorinthewalls and they say, “I’ve heard that’s just an Urban Legend, so to speak. Just something to up the ante and get people interested. They want to keep the mystery alive.
The fourth image is dated 10/1/2018 and includes nested comments, with the first one being a question from loveismydrug, “has anyone here actually been at Sepulchral? Like, what’s it actually about?” escaperoomjunkie then answers with, “If anyone had, they wouldn’t be talking about it. I’ve heard you have to sign a non-disclosure agreement or something like that. That way no one knows the secrets.” escaperooms4life then adds, “Or maybe no one’s talking about it because they never made it out. Ever think of that?”
The fifth image is dated 10/2/2018 and is by terrorinthewalls and includes nested comments. This user asks, “Hey, OP, did you ever call the number?” suspirorium then answers with, “I did and I’m going tonight.” escaperoomjunkie responds with, “Oh Shit, that’s awesome! You’ll tell us all about it, right?” suspiroirum answers with, “I’ll share what I can. I’m heading there around midnight.”
The sixth image is still dated 10/2/2018 on top and is a continuation of the conversation above, presumably. It begins with a nested comment by escaperooms4life, who says, “I’m so jealous! I can’t wait to hear all about it! Are you jazzed?” Then there’s a new comment by escaperooms4life still on 10/2/2018 and says, “Any updates?” followed by another comment by this user on 10/2/2018 that says, “Hey OP, how was it?” and finally a third comment by the same user – escaperooms4life” now dated 10/3/2018 and says, “You there?”
Then the seventh image is dated 10/4/2018 and is still from escaperooms4life and just says, “Everything good?”]
I have so many questions. One is how the escaperoomjunkie knew that it was a phone number on the table, since they mention calling and technically speaking our OP never specified that there was a phone number but didn’t deny it and ultimately confirmed that they called. I’ll get the next set of posts up as well but wanted to share these with you because I’ve been too under the weather to film this week. I’m also still trying to figure out the phone, since has a password.

Finally got to catch up with my besties and chat about life and escape rooms. Apologies for it being a bit long but this was with it cut in half and trimmed down because we definitely had a lot since it’s been awhile.
